Brook Lopez was a lottery pick, No. 10 overall. Then an all-star scoring big. Then an all-defensive team stretch big.
There are no "Brook replacements" in this draft and there are few doing what he's doing in the NBA.

That said -- I think if you're looking to have a drafted big, the emphasis will not be on shooting -- think of strong screeners and more dedicated rim runners/finishers at the rim (along with the rim protection).

As far as “Brook replacement” goes, I’m more interested in a guy who can be a bench guy and comes in and does what Brook does. For years our only bench big has been Bobby, who is a very different player than Brook. I think it’d be a good idea to have a big body center who can contribute like 8-10 minutes a game for rotation flexibility reasons at least

Same thing Celtics do with Al Horford, have a few bench bigs (Kornet, Tillman) to lighten his load

Ah - there's some context there than just saying released on the June 24 deadline of the full $8M guaranteed. It was a smart compromised added in by Looney's agent, so he couldn't be traded on draft night(s). Still interesting they'd rather cut him and pay roughly $9M in a tax bill than try to move his $8M in a trade (which they probably could).
He's the kind of guy I think Rivers was talking about in terms of the 28-year-old veteran as opposed to assuming he needs to play a "young guy."

But remember - the Bucks are only in the hunt for minimums. Looney feels like a minimum guy at this point, but all it takes is one...

basically Bucks move up/down and get into a position where there's a chance they could slide under the second apron, for Davion, who's been completely eclipsed by Keon Ellis for minutes and impact, but should fit in well here, given how much we love pesty guards

Kings get Pat, a reliable shooter who can defend bigger guys, basically insurance for if they lose or need to trade someone like Barnes or Huerter

I have very high hopes for Ajax, but for those hopes to be realized, he needs to fix a giant hole in his game, which is his inability to look at the basket with the ball

He can’t drive to the basket, he can’t shoot pull up etc, he can not do anything with the ball in a half court setting other than make skip passes and that limits him a lot. In a playoff setting, opponents will slow the pace down and force him to handle the ball

I think he's very gun shy. Not only that he is very selfless with the ball as he looks to pass it instead of creating his shots. His decision making is very questionable at times but the raw talent and athletic abilities is there. Give him some time he'll develop into his roll .

As for marjon, he's isn't even given an opportunity with the coach change and all. He's hasn't really gotten better since last year either but this year we will see how he develops with Doc and his crew
