#Very low FPS on high end PC

Hello,

I own a GIGABYTE B450M S2H V2 motherboard paired with an RTX 4060 Ti and an R5 5600 processor. Firstly, I want to note that prior to switching to the RTX 4060 Ti, I used an RX 6600 and encountered the same issue. Before that, my setup included a GT 1030 graphics card with the same system configuration. While using the GT 1030, I experienced no issues with SA:MP, consistently achieving 300-400 FPS, barring crowded player environments.

However, upon switching to the RX 6600, my FPS drastically dropped to 100-150 FPS compared to the GT 1030, despite the recent upgrade in graphics cards. I attributed this to potential compatibility issues between AMD and the older game. Recently, I upgraded to an RTX 4060 Ti, hoping to resolve this issue and regain my previous FPS values, enabling the use of enhancements like ENB with high FPS.

Unfortunately, even after installing the RTX 4060 Ti, there was no improvement in FPS, which is quite frustrating. I've attempted various troubleshooting steps including resetting BIOS settings, disabling the XMP profile, turning off Resize BAR, FreeSync/G-SYNC, hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling, processor PBO setting, and power performance settings. Additionally, I've tried installing different operating systems such as Windows 11 and Windows 10, yet none of these actions have rectified the FPS problem.

I'm deeply disappointed that despite having powerful hardware, I'm unable to achieve the same FPS as before with an identical system setup. It's worth mentioning that the only significant change since using the GT 1030 is the graphics card itself. All mods, game files, and other pc parts remain the same.

I suspect the issue may be related to the drivers for the RTX 4060 Ti and RX 6600. As a next step, I plan to reinstall the GT 1030, and test again. However, in the meantime, if anyone could offer alternative solutions or assistance, I would greatly appreciate it.

have you set the game’s preferred GPU to that rtx? well my gta did it better with gtx 750 ti than rtx 3050 ti so i cant say much

Uh thats not high end. Hows the performance monitoring? Can you use MSI Aferburner / Rivatuner and let us know?

How are you uninstalling drivers? DDU or via the GUI for said drivers themselves?

You've gone from a 6600 to a 4060ti? I wouldn't go forwards a generation, I'd go backwards.

What monitor do you use? Having FPS higher than the refresh rate of your monitor is useless anway since all the extra frames will be lost. This game also heavily ties gameplay mechanics to FPS and having high FPS basically means that you can't swim, use a boat, the seaplane or the seasparrow

I'm using 165 Hz and I know that it's useless to get more than 165 FPS, but the problem is not the FPS I'm getting right now. The problem is that I'm not getting the FPS I should be getting right now. Why is it that when I install any ENB(or mods that require a strong pc), the game suddenly becomes 30-40 FPS? There is a problem here

also, these things don't really happen in SA:MP. I mean, you install framerate vigilante and you can swim fast even if you get 1000 FPS

100 FPS is enough for me. I want to play smoothly with the mods like 2DFX, ENB, DirtectX 3.0 etc. I dreamed this of when I didn't have good pc

When I was using R5 5600 with GT 1030, I just couldn't install heavy mods, like ENB. Because when I installed it, I either could not join the server (crash) or it could play at 10-15 FPS. I hoped this situation would improve after upgrading to a better gpu, After upgrading to a better gpu, I noticed that I was getting lower FPS even without heavy mods installed

yeah, but also for multiplayer (mta,samp,omp) isnt just everything to you, u have server side, if hosting is bad or gamemode is shit optimized, you will not see difference

I'm not here to talk about how many hz my screen is, my fps limit is on or off, etc. I would really appreciate it if someone could help me with this situation

maybe my motherboard causes that issue. the connection between the weak gpu and the strong cpu is good in the old game so I don't have problems, but the connection between the strong gpu and strong cpu is not... maybe I need to buy a more expensive motherboard

you get low fps because old games usually have optimization problems on newer GPUs. gta san is one of them. but there are so many optimization mods in the SA:MP community that the game can really run at 400-500 fps without any problem

This asi is already in my mod pack. I know what it does, it just allows us to use the actual hz of the monitor in the game instead of 60 hz. Not related to low FPS

i ran gta sa with 80-100 fps on my old pc that was gtx 750ti and 2 cores cpu. thats the same fps that i get with my current rig rtx 3050and 6 cores cpu, i get a little bit higher tho around 80-120

and still, unstable as sometimes it can go down to around 60 fps. as far as you can run newer games with normal fps but not on gta sa then its understandable that its the game issue and to be noted that is a 20 year old game

I don't want to think about it whether it's an old game or not. because if there was such a thing, there would be a mod, an article that would find a solution to this problem. but there is not a single thing about this issue anywhere

remember that gta sa has no multicore rendering and uses a quarter of the gpu %, don't expect much from an old directx9 game , try to use vulkan

I didn't see , but i know what you mean, it's weird ok . Try reinstalling your drivers. You can send a reference video and test the FPS? maybe I can help you. I've also played with ENB Series (SA DirectX 3.0) and got around 100 fps, but the percentage of FPS is very low, around 50 fps, and it's unstable, and the input lag. Honestly, I wouldn't play SAMP with ENB Series again

I don't know what has changed. now I get between 150-200 FPS with ENB. but I still don't think the problem is solved because I can't see higher than these FPS values without ENB (although I should be able to)

everything is good now. I just wanted to see this shot and I think this problem was fixed after playing with mods a bit (?)
