My purpose in making this textdraw editor was to add features that other editors do not have. This editor offers you many features such as grouping, undeleting texts, undoing changes, importing text drawings from a file.

Features:

Multi-language support.
Ability to work on a blank screen or in-game.
Ability to import text drawings from a file.
Ability to set default Global and Player variable names.
Ability to set the game clock. (This feature is very good for people who design at night)
Ability to set the hud position.
Ability to change index numbers of text drawings.
Ability to give special variable names to text drawings.
Grouping text drawings. (Move, delete and more)
Recover text drawings that you accidentally deleted.
Undo the changes you've made.
View txd files with Sprite Browser.

when progressbar support?

# serene kite you can make a progressbar with 2 textdraws why do you need that
  • Your designer who may not know anything about scripting can easily recreate progress bars across multiple projects, they don't have to care as much about padding and such
  • Scripters have an easy way to manipulate those, without the need to basically recreate what progress2 does or recreating the progress bar manipulation for each bar you add
  • It saves time for both, the scripter and designer (if these are 2 separate entities like e.g. in my community)
  • Nick's textdraw editor supports it and people seem to use and enjoy this feature

ok but the designer can recreate a progressbar with no scripting idea, all you need is 2-3 ld_spac sprites

# serene kite ok but the designer can recreate a progressbar with no scripting idea, all you n...

It's not the impossibility to create a text draw that looks like a progress bar, it's all the points I listed

All my designers use Nicks text draw editor whenever they want to create progress bars and they claim it's much better user experience for them.
I don't design textdraws myself but as somebody who has to "make them work", I respect it and it's less work for me, so it's a win-win situation here
Nevertheless they use this very editor for everything else

  1. Progressbar Support this one is mostly used on nicks textdraw
  2. Quick Selection tool (Just select your TextDraw! No need to search within the Dialog!). I like this feature too since it will save my time when designing cuz I dont need to search for a textdraw in a dialog
3.TextDraw layering Idk if this one is already implemented on your releases but this feature is helpful too

These are the features that I want to see on your td editor, Mysy or r99t might have an suggestion too just wait for them

Can you give an example of item 3?

#

@silver edge

silver edge

I cant find example but that one should look like this, the black Icon here can be place to the orange/yellow icon and you can select that orange/yellow icon to be layer (First layer) I hope I give you an example

serene kite
silver edge
#

yea that's how textdraw layering works in nicks textdraw

serene kite
#

you can already do that on nexors td editor, select a textdraw and change its index

silver edge
#

IG its already implemented then but the problem is most people just like me dont know how to/when to manipulate the indexes that you said maybe you should change its name?

wide galleon
#

It would be nice if you could give an example with a video, I didn't quite understand what you mean.

silver edge
#

I would try the feature that r99t said first

#

And one thing I want to clarify is there a Save option? where you can save your created project and export it later

#

I'll get back to you if I make or found a video about that Textdraw Layering

A feature request from me.
I'd like to recommend to stack the exported textdraws with the same name as an array. It appears currently exported textdraws that have the same name will be exported with the very same name. It kind of makes sense for designers but for scripters it would be better if those were exported as an array, so we scripters don't have to make any changes to the exported code, like I had to go through the whole exported code and change all the variables even though it appears the designer names them correctly.
To give you more context, currently if we have e.g. multiple player textdraws called tdSomeTextdraw or whatever, all of them will be exported as tdSomeTextdraw[playerid] whereas exporting them as tdsomeTextdraw[playerid][generatedIdByTheirIndex] would be much better. I'm not sure if you catch my drift but I hope so. I could explain it a bit better tomorrow if I'm being unclear, just let me know

I love the editor on the whole and there's also that con for me as a developer that the code base is in Turkish which makes it hard for others to contribute but yeah, the project generally speaking is great nevertheless

I think so. I'm not sure since it was my designer exporting it for me. I'm not really great at designing textdraws myself, I just implemented what he designed despondency

serene kite
#

yes, that only happens when you change variable name afaik, would be nice to get that fixed yes, happened some times to me
