I was wondering how I can connect to my server through the Definitive Edition, from what I know it is already possible by now (unless I was misled).

Hey. As far as I know the open.mp client for definitive addition is not out yet, but is being made to be cross-compatible with SAMP and android. Check the very first message in #old-openmp-news-and-releases

Defective Edition is not supported and IMO it seems questionable whether it will ever be fully supported. I think even MTA scrapped their plans for it. I'm also fairly sure that crossplay with the OG version is going to be a disaster due to the changes in terrain geometry, particularly in the rocky areas in the badlands and desert.

Vince is right there are some weird non-technical issues with the concept, but I would imagine servers would figure out clever solutions to these problems

Given the numbers of glitches, collision errors etc. Its just better to yeet the whole DE concept. Later it could become what 'SAMP Mobile' is right now.

yes, but there are players who will prefer the DE or even mobile version. so that choice should be completely up to the server owner, if one version is more problematic than the other let the server solve itself
