Save what you were playing previously and continue the song where you've left of like with YouTube Videos it saves what timeline did you stop watching and will resume from that timeline for example you left in 02:35 and it resumes from that time when you open it again

Cause mostly with the YouTube support being dropped that is the biggest pain that we can't listen to music parodies with Rythm anymore and this especially hurts our country because the biggest youtubers "Pamkutya" mostly created parodies in their past and now they are doing multiple concerts too and it would be fun if with Rythm we could listen to these musics. Same for covers, we have very talented people who did a cover of multiple songs like GGeery in our language in perfect, expert qualify and it's sad that we can't listen to those songs either :((

A solution to this would make Rythm a unique platform that allows Music Parodies like YouTube Music (okay YT Music just bundles every video that's in a music category and let's you play it due to the original creators getting their revenue with Content ID)

Mmmm it's not really that we're actively choosing not to support these, it's ultimately up to music creators to get their music distributed through labels & indie distribution channels. While we can get support for more labels & distribution channels, if the artist doesn't use those in the first place the music wont ever make it onto the platform

Normally getting music like this uploaded is handled through the distributor, the artist would have to make sure they're allowed to have that piece of music distributed. Once it's on a distributor however, then it can appear on music streaming platforms

All music that streaming platforms these days have is provided by distributors & labels, it's a mandatory requirement to go through them before being able to appear on platforms. So it's generally not that a particular platform (Like Rythm) is denying a specific song or type of music or anything, it's just that the ball is in the artist's court to actually get it distributed first

YouTube Music is a hybrid and actually incredibly unique, you do require a distributor to actually have an Official Artist Channel (OAC), but since YouTube was originally a user-uploaded content distribution platform itself, it inherits a lot of these qualities with its music side too. You can upload music individually because of YouTube's systems like Content ID, but doing things like uploading entire albums at once is generally not supported without a distributor as far as I'm aware

YouTube has different methods of actually paying out, as far as I'm aware (I'm not an expert on this particular part so don't take this as absolute fact) direct individual uploads are treated more like their native video uploads and go through that monetization method. Distributor uploads actually go through the standard royalty route & are treated as music recordings

Add a proper name and design to the Rythm Testing bot (that opens the Dev/Test version of the Rythm activity) on the new Rythm Alpha server so that people won't think it's an unofficial Rythm ripoff trying to grab your data (yep that was me who thought that O.o due to a dangerous server role permission being auto-enabled in servers by default which is called "use External apps"). Maybe use the @merry plover bot's name and pfp 😅 or just use that bot for it alltogether to avoid having 2 bots for easier work? Or idk if your infrastructure is different so I'll leave this question up to you

uhmm what I meant is I myself knowing about this dangerous permission thought that someone is baiting users with a clearly unofficial looking Rythm bot to open their activity and potentially steal your data. so what I tried to say here is that this should need to be communicated better with the user, maybe have the bot as the Rythm Team role then or something if you don't want to change any aspect of it like pfp and name

Hey, If Rythm is programmed with the Kotlin then i have a idea/suggestion, If it is programmed with Kotlin then my suggestion is that Rythm mobile app should be available on Android worldwide and on iPhone/iPad in European Union - Thanks to the EU Digital Markets Act (DMA) iOS and iPadOS users in European Union can download the Rythm mobile app outside the App Store.

Hi, I'm going to talk about that Vote Premium feature that was just in experimental right now. While it may entice people to try out Premium for 12 hours (albeit exclusive to the bot versions), aside from the 7-day trial for users who haven't activated Premium yet (which includes Premium access to UI-based platforms)... I do have some concerns.

I mean sure, you did technically have consideration on how it will go, but since Top.gg allows re-voting every 12 hours, and since it is a 12 hour pass, you just told us "we can claim Premium for free, we just have to vote twice every day, and make use of the Discord bot" and the cycle repeats.

And in my opinion, your monetization can, and I'm sure, definitely will be affected the longer this may go. And of course, the platform usage, will likely be favoring to bots.

So my suggestion, if you can even balance it further, to not be overused, but also not too pesky at the same time, to make sure you can still earn either way from subscriptions, beside growing your user and subscriber base

And for the ads (aka that voice that appears exclusive to free sessions), I think it is time to be updated to tell them also "hey, if you don't want to pay yet but you do love our bots and want to try our stuff, vote on our page, and we let you try it out, no payment required", that can at least let free users know it's an option

Plus I would love to make the discord bot, the app and website to be integrated and where we can select our fav music from the web and it auto plays em in the discord bot by either moving us into the vc or dming us. Tbh I would like to get the application working and allow guest mode and download music but a limit for free users per month or week and change it for voting asw.

If you mean 2 votes per week, that may work. Like they can have two 12-hour passes per week, refreshable every week. They can vote twice to claim, but I would also suggest if it would be the case, they must have the option of choosing when they'll activate the passes.

As for those others next, I think it was in the talks, but they may be focusing on other essential workings for now. So anything like guest/private mode or download music, it may take a super long time (probably once they tackled on the basics)

This is why it's just an experiment right now hahaha, we've got a bunch of stuff we're testing to see:

  1. Are votes a meaningful way to grow?
  2. Is voting for premium a compelling trade?
  3. Are the type of people that vote users that would end up actually subscribing, or is this just a way for free users to help us grow?

We've got a bunch of metrics we're watching. We've been building out analytics and dashboards for awhile to help with this, so we're now finally getting to the point of running a bunch of experiments. You'll probably see a bunch of stuff change or pop in and out of existence over the next few weeks as we test what works and what doesn't

This app matching trial + pausing song due to Rythm app not active tab makes a syncing error because both matched parties. Person switching out of app and going back in app will get a random skip sync at the end of the song to force new song starting at the same time.

For the desktop app on Mac, I'm having some issues with min/maximizing the window by double clicking the windows top bar. Not really a big deal but a nice to have :).

edit: Seems like it works in a small section of the top bar but it'd be nice if it was across the whole bar.

^ Another mac issue, Rythm is not reporting playback to apple's media player causing some application to not be able to detect it and easily control things like reverse, next, etc.

I personally use an application called Alcove which creates notch functionality including a media player and cannot see or control rythm via it because best practices aren't being used. Love if this was updated :)

edit: Only seems to do so when another application that is playing audio is running (even after spotify is paused rythm will not start back on the media player or become a secondary)? Spotify is what I tested and rythm just stops reporting to media player.

It will be better to add a that users who subscribes to Rythm Premium can listen the musics without internet connection by downloading it in offline mode like Spotify or YouTube Music haves it. Should appear on Rythm web app, desktop app and Rythm mobile app. toastjam

I noticed that the songs I add to my playlist don’t appear in “recently added” order like they do on other music platforms. Is this the default behavior, or is it just happening to me?

Spotify and YouTube integration that lets you import playlists without setting them public for the duration of the importing process - Pro Privacy Feature so you dont leak your playlists

and for the song importing process: have the Privacy setting be selectable before starting the importing process because currently its automatically public and you need to set it to Private manually which is annoying and it leaks your imported playlists

This bot is shit, i pay for premium, tried the desktop and web app, and it doenst play what i want. search for an album, copy link, play, doesnt recognise the link. press add to queue, nothing happens, press play, adds the first song ofthe album. I have to make my own playlist in spotify from the album and export it to play it... if you already have shuffle on and you queue up a playlist, it doesnt shuffle it, you have to click it to "not shuffled" for it to shuffle. and also it just randomly skips your song for no reason. how is the bot genuinely this bad? your desktop and web app barely function. i cant defend paying for this product
