Activity Release v1.3.6 -> v1.3.21
You no longer need to be in the same voice channel to listen to Rythm together... New update below!
ββββββββββββββββββββββββββββ
New session system: With this system you can join your friends and others freely from anywhere, we no longer rely on being in the same voice or text channel as you can join anyone's session (with proper privacy settings) from anywhere. Excited or confused? Log in and try it out!
New home page: With the change of sessions we also introduced a new home page where you can find pinned sessions, friend sessions, featured songs and artists, different radios and people you may know to add. These two features are still early and fresh so we'd love to get feedback on what you think of them and what you'd like to see on your own home page.
There is now an in-app chat on Rythm where you can communicate with others in the same session.
Free users can now see the next upcoming song in the queue and have the option to join other sessions.
Weβve added over 35 new radios, mostly based on community requests, including:
Breakcore, Dark Ambient, Hardcore/Frenchcore, Future Garage, Rain Sounds, ASMR, Songs to do CPR to, Dancehall, Hyper Pop, Minecraft, Zelda, EA FC 25, Final Fantasy, Elden Ring OSTs (mixed), Arabic, French, Indian, Brazilian, and Turkish language radios, pov radios, and more...
And a lot of bug fixes, like a lot a lot.

Activity Release v1.3.21 -> v1.5.1
PLAYLISTS! You can now create playlists with a name, description, and image. The best part? You can add an entire playlist to your queue with a single click, even if itβs not yours. Give it a try! Simply go to your profile, create a playlist, and add tracks from either the search or the queue.
Enhanced Performance! We've boosted the performance of various UI elements and backend processes. Switching between player and queue modes is now faster, the interface feels more responsive, and returning from PiP mode to the main activity should feel a lot quicker too.
Expanded Access for Free Users! Free users can now queue up to 20 songs, just like premium users, before needing to upgrade.
You can now view everyoneβs active session on their profile. If you have permission, you can join directly from there.
πͺ Weβve corrected areas where the "explicit" tag was missing.
The long awaited "loop" mode has been introduced for the manual queue, allowing you to loop the same queue continuously.
Weβve added a "host control only" mode in the session settings.
Hosts can now ban users from their session through the host menu.

<@&646630214574669844>
Hey <@&646630214574669844>! Here's the latest and greatest on what's going on with Rythm:
ACTIVITY: Smoother onboarding!
We've redone the onboarding in the new activity! This will get you listening to music way faster, and should perform much better than the old design - everyone will receive the new onboarding the next time you launch the activity, even if you've already gone through the old onboarding process. There are still a few minor bugs we're aware of that we're hoping to fix by Monday, but let us know in #support if you experience anything weird!
BOT: Improvements!
Fixes and changes include:
- New options in
/settingsfor Default Playlist and locking the bot to a channel! - Better song identification for YouTube links, and YouTube Music links now work
/volumecommand was missing a value you could enter- Fixed issue where some Spotify songs would error the play command
- Explicit tags now show in the
/searchdropdown - The
/settingscommand has been entirely reworked to be a lot more intuitive - Fixed issue where
/searchwould error if you tried to use the dropdown after you left the voice channel - Fixed album arts not displaying in now playing cards
- Added proper link support to all variants of the
/playcommand (e.g./playnow,/playtop) /playnowand/playtopcommands no longer cause errors if used as the first command
π What's next
- MORE MUSIC! In the next 3-6 weeks, we'll be bringing our catalog up to near 100% availability for all of the songs you love.
- Bug fixes for how the bot behaves in Stage Channels
- Audio quality options! We've already added some foundations in the activity for this, but it isn't functional just quite yet!
- Building for highly-requested features, like song autoplay, and adding a Spotify or Rythm playlist to the bot's queue
If you want to try any of the new stuff out and get switched over to the new activity, or if you experience any bugs, let us know in #support and we'll get you sorted! π«‘
Hey <@&646630214574669844>, we just pushed out a big update to the bot:
BOT: Improvements!
-# If you'd like to add the bot to your own server, click this!
Tons of Stage Channel fixes:
- Fixed stage channel permission checks. The bot no longer requires stage moderator permissions before it will join a stage channel as it will raise its hand to speak. Having stage moderator will make it automatically become a speaker, however
- Fixed issue with stage channel where the bot would send itself into the audience every song if it didn't have proper permissions
- Fixed issue with stage channels where it would send a permission error and then update it with the now playing embed anyway making the error unreadable
- Stage channels are now properly handled in the vclock setting, allowing you to lock it to a stage channel
- Fixed issue where bot would try to play songs in the stage audience. It now only plays when it's a speaker, auto-pausing whenever it is moved to the audience.
- Fixed niche issue where moving the bot from a stage channel audience into another voice channel caused it to be in unmutable self-muted state. The bot now rejoins the voice channel to account for this.
Fixes & QoL:
- Updated /loop to automatically disable the announcesongs setting temporarily, auto-re-enabling when loop is disabled. The loop message has been updated to reflect this change. This change doesn't affect /loopqueue.
- Fixed niche issue where if the bot lost view permissions to the voice/stage channel it was playing in, it would give a generic "missing embed links permission" error when trying to run commands in that voice/stage channel's chat
- Using bot commands while deafened now warns you that you wont be able to hear the music until you undeafen
- Fixed rare issue where two people running a "queue all" process at once would ignore the max queue length setting and also override the currently playing song
- Fixed issue where if a "queue all" process was started during an active queue but the queue completed before the "queue all" process finished, it would never start playing the new songs or show them in /queue or /nowplaying
- Removed guild level commands from early rollout testing and made all commands global, removing rare issue where some guilds would only get a /play and /join command registered
- Fixed issue where the bot wouldn't rejoin a channel on bot restart if the bot had always playing enabled and no one was present in the voice channel at the time
- Fixed issue where the bot would resume playing when someone joins the voice channel while it's paused
- Added warning to join command when the bot doesn't have proper permissions that limit some of Rythm's functionalities. As a result, some permissions are no longer required
- The bot now auto-plays the default playlist after ~1min of no commands being run while in a VC. It also sends a message in chat when this occurs.
- TRIED fixing issue in our update rollout auto-resume feature that caused the bot to join voice channels it wasn't in before a restart. Unfortunately, we can't confirm if this was fixed, so please report it to us in #support if you experience the bot joining for no reason!
π What's Next:
- Getting WAY more content from all your fav artists into Rythm - this is our top priority right now!
- More support for playing music, like playlists and album links
- Song recommendations to keep the music flowing!
- Fixing issue where YouTube links sometimes queue up non-explicit versions of the songs even when the YouTube version is explicit
- Building an onboarding experience to help users get started with setting up Rythm
As always, we want to hear from YOUβtell us if you experience any issues in #support, or tag me to let me know what you think! π«‘
Sup, <@&646630214574669844> - here's the latest and greatest on what our team's been working on, we're super excited to have you use it!
π₯οΈ Activity & Web App:
-# As a reminder, many users may still be on the old version of the activity and may not see these changes reflected - if you want to switch to the new one (or back to the old), just shoot us a message in #support!
- Added shuffle to the player! Enabling shuffle will shuffle the queue for everyone listening. Clicking this again will revert the queue back to its original order.
- Brand new library page! We've redesigned our library to make it more sleek and fun to look at.
- Added the ability to save albums which now appear in the brand new library.
- Rythm will now mute other clients when a new one is opened, leaving the new client as the audio playback client.
- Clicking track names in the queue now sends you to the album the track came from.
- Added empty states for the queue and now playing panels.
- Added copy link buttons everywhere as a start into better song sharing for friends (only in web app for now!)
- Added popup when hovering songs that aren't available yet.
- Removed clear onboarding & leave session buttons from displaying in non-developer contexts, no more mysterious buttons.
- Fixed issue where the feed wouldn't load & wouldn't ever try loading again.
- Fixed issue with PiP view not displaying properly & not truncating long titles.
- Fixed artist names not being clickable in the queue tab.
- Fixed blank tooltips in Discord profile rich presences.
- Fixed issue where songs over 10 minutes couldn't be played (you're welcome, Taylor Swift All Too Well 10 minute enjoyers).
- Fixed issue where images in the app were draggable.
- Fixed issue where you could click and drag to select text all over the app.
- Fixed issue where tabbing in and out of the app would resize home page elements and recenter them.
- Fixed issue where some pages had doubled scroll bars.
- Fixed Onboarding cards not scaling horizontally with resolution.
π€ Discord Bot:
-# Install the bot by clicking this link!
- Added autoplay! Rythm will now automatically play tracks for you when the queue is empty. This can be toggled off in /settings.
- Always Playing and Autoplay are now enabled by default. You can disable these in /settings.
- Changed autoplay behavior from sending an "Autoplaying tracks" message every song to now only send it when autoplay is started. Now Playing messages will be sent every song instead.
- This means you can now more finely tune what notifications Rythm sends you. Disabling autoplay disables autoplay notifications, disabling Announce Songs disables Now Playing messages.
- Slightly edited skip messages to be more readable, as they now send a Skip message & a Now Playing message for the new track, giving you more control over the notifications your server gets.
- Fixed some issues with stuttering
- Fixed many minor bugs
π Coming Soonβ’οΈ:
- An entirely new home page is on the way π
- Autoplay for the activity
- App colorization that changes with the song you're listening to
- Creating a link between the bot and Rythm clients, meaning you can control the bot playback from the activity
- Public playlists & playlist discovery
- Removing onboarding entirely in favor of getting users to music they can play immediately
Rythm Bot Changelog
<@&646630214574669844>

Premium Changes
As a note for those who haven't seen the announcement, this is an initial implementation of premium and is subject to change based on your feedback to us. Let us know how you feel about it!
- Added /premium which lets users purchase premium, view their perks, or confirm their current premium status.
- Added new premium messaging:
- Added premium messages that trigger during normal use during non-premium sessions.
- Added messages that now trigger when a premium user joins a session, turning it into a premium session
- Added a message when a session is downgraded from a premium session due to all premium users leaving
- Added new support for premium perks, which currently include:
Higher audio quality (320kbps)
Unlimited autoplay, meaning you can use autoplay for as long as you want uninterrupted. Free users will experience an autoplay interruption that requires them to manually queue at least one track before autoplay will continue. In our testing, we found this was pretty minimally invasive in normal use and only needing to queue one track every so often felt incredibly useable.
Unlimited queue length, so you can add as many songs to the queue as you want (barring any server /settings that set max queue size). Free users will be limited to 10 songs for now, but we want a lot of feedback around this as we don't want it to feel incredibly punishing.
Premium for all platforms, so your premium is shared across every Rythm platform. One subscription gives you premium on the bot, web app, discord activity, and soon to be desktop and mobile apps.
Your benefits share, so every session you join becomes a premium session where all limits are removed.
And more benefits to come, including really nice to have playlist importing tools.
Misc Changes
- Moved Rythm onto better servers, massively improving stability and performance
- Added onboarding! Rythm will now send a message when you add it to your servers giving you a small tutorial on how to get started with Rythm. We try to send it in the most appropriate channel, but let us know if you run into Rythm sending it in a channel that isn't correct at all
- Brand new emojis everywhere
- All queue all operations actually give live updates on the progress of adding songs
- All automatic messages from Rythm that you don't trigger yourself have a silent tag on them, meaning they'll no longer give notifications. (Think messages like now playing, autoplay starting, stuff like that)
- Changes to messaging for errors and command responses
- Trying a lower default volume (only applies to servers that add Rythm after this update) so you can actually hear over it and talk in voice channels
- Changed embed colors to use the currently playing track's most prominent color in its album art
- Rythm now links to web app track links for the song title in now playing.
- Small note with this! Track links aren't ready for the web app yet, but they're in the upcoming update. It's easier to do no-disruption updates to the web app, but due to how Discord bots work any time we update the Rythm bot it has to go down for a bit. We're doing this change now to prevent downtime later!
- Standardized settings disabling, so putting in things like 0, disable, or none will work to disable settings instead of needing a specific keyword.
- Move and remove now accept the name of a track instead of just a position in the queue
- Added Right click > Apps entries for pulling up the new components v2 control panel and onboarding
- Added loading notification when you skip and we're finding the next track to add (such as transitioning into autoplay)
Bug Fixes
- MASSIVE bug fix for autoplay & history! We fixed an issue where your song listen history wasn't properly being recorded, leading to super strange recommendations from autoplay in some cases
- Massively improved issues with tracks having errors when attempting to play
- Skipto no longer sends duplicate now playing messages
- Duplicates are now properly removed when using queue all
- Fixed issue with liked tracks where only 100 tracks would display
- Properly attributed commands to a user when the interaction came from an ephemeral message (meaning they would just spawn out of nothing for everyone else and no one would know who it was for)
- The Invite Rythm button in the help command now goes directly to our OAuth invite link rather than our website redirect, meaning you no longer are taken out of Discord
- Attempted to fix "track not found" issues when using any "Queue All", this is a little complicated but we believe we've fixed it!
- Errors are now checked in the same order across every command, so you wont get told your inputs are wrong before being told you're missing permissions for the command in the first place

Premium Additions
Crossfade
Music will now fade into the next song creating a smooth transition. This is a pretty small change, but in action this made Rythm feel suuuper nice. Crossfade will be enabled for any premium session by default. We've also rolled out a </setting:1371639956337983562> to disable or change at what point crossfade will start in a song.
Effects
We've brought back the old effects Rythm used to have! We now have presets like:
- Bassboost
- Slowed & Reverbed
- Nightcore
-
- You can also manually edit bass, speed, and pitch
- & more effect presets to come! Tell us what you'd like to see in #general

- Fixes for autoplay duplication & liked tracks
Rythm Bot Changelog
<@&646630214574669844>
Howdy, this update was primarily just fixes, but we did introduce one cool new feature.
Voice Channel Status
Rythm will now update the channel status to the currently playing track while it's in your voice channel. We've made sure to implement some safety around this, so it shouldn't override any manually set statuses by users. Rythm will also clear any status it set when disconnected.
For users that don't want this behavior, we've introduced a new </setting:1371639956337983562> for you to disable it.
-# Rythm will need the "Set Voice Channel Status" permission for this to work. Due to how Discord works, Manage Channel will also be necessary if you want right click > disconnect to also clear status and not just /disconnect.
Fixes
- Fixed an issue where Rythm wouldn't crossfade some tracks
- Fixed an issue where </np:1371638944848023582> didn't show correct timestamps on some tracks after a </seek:1371639034283032586>
- Fixed an issue where sometimes Rythm would get stuck not playing anything
- Fixed several broken starting points for Rythm including search & control panel buttons
- Fixed an issue where Rythm wouldn't queue some tracks in a "Queue All" operation
- Fixed an issue where skip would sometimes not actually stop the currently playing track if it couldn't load a new one
- Fixed an issue where some operations would time out (like autoplay & history) giving bad results
Rythm Bot Changelog
<@&646630214574669844>
Back again with more fixes this time. We focused on fixing some outstanding issues we've seen with systems like autoplay, crossfade, and instant play before we jump back into adding more features into Rythm, which are now coming up next.
Fixes
- Fixed an issue where autoplay wouldn't properly reset your session history when you manually queued a track if you had crossfade enabled, leading to a "recommendation leak" where previous autoplay tracks would get used for autoplay recommendations
- Fixed an issue where autoplay & default playlists would play the exact song you just skipped
- Fixed an issue where autoplay would keep serving you songs you've previously skipped
- Fixed an issue with liked tracks where Rythm wouldn't properly like or unlike a track
- Fixed an issue where Rythm would stay in voice channels without Always Playing enabled even after it said it was leaving
- Fixed several issues with autoplay, crossfade, and instant play where the three of them would combine to create weird interactions and randomly skip songs it queued up
- Fixed an issue where </play:1359362902166999223> would basically always try to find a track, no matter how ridiculous of a match it was. It will now more often tell you it can't find a track rather than queueing up something insane.
- Fixed an issue where Rythm wouldn't queue every track it should from some Queue All operations
Voice Channel Status
We're aware of issues where Rythm isn't updating your voice channel status in real time sometimes. Turns out Rythm is just doing a lot of updates all of the time and we're getting limited by Discord on how fast we can set voice channel statuses. We're looking into better ways to handle this & fixes we can implement! Stay tuned and we'll have fixes soon.
This is now fixed!
Rythm Changelog
<@&646630214574669844>
Since you last heard from us, we've pushed some major changes to our major platforms encompassing the Rythm bot, Discord activity, and web app. Let's take a look at the changes.
Rythm Bot
The Rythm bot got a bunch of new features, tweaks, and fixes in this update. A lot of these were features that have been requested by the community, so we brought them to life!
Smart Recommendations
When you join a voice channel Rythm is commonly used in, Rythm will send an embed giving you recommendations for music based on your listening history, letting you start music sessions far quicker and easier. These recommendations will also tune themselves based on all of the users in the voice channel, giving you songs that everyone is most likely to enjoy. Use multiple Rythm bots or have dedicated Rythm bots for specific channels? Rythm understands that too and designates the most used Rythm bot in a channel as the "main" Rythm for that channel, ensuring you aren't spammed with recommendations from every bot.
Feature Toggles
We've introduced a new setting to give you more control over Rythm's behavior. The Feature Toggles setting allows you to enable or disable the smart recommendations feature, whether Rythm responds with its info embed when pinged, or if it should send its control button on now playing messages.
Content & Speed
We've beefed up the Rythm library a ton, you should see a pretty big change to content availability versus the last update. We're fairly confident that running into music Rythm doesn't have should be far far less common. This also includes support for Rythm track links. On top of this, we've also made some major improvements to how fast Rythm is, so you should see your searches complete quicker.
Fixes & Improvements
We've also fixed a few bugs and made minor changes like:
- Fixed the "Welcome to Rythm" embed sending multiple times
- Fixed a DJ bypass for the skip button in controls
- Fixed an issue where Rythm would show songs as having "0:00" total duration in search
- Fixed a bug causing the bot to get stuck when first starting to play a track
- If you missed it from the last update, voice channel statuses are no longer delayed when trying to update the status
- </effects:1403318592828739665> now has a better description of what each button does in the embed
Up Next
- Playlist queueing, importing, & building
- Setting to disable commands in text channels/lock commands to specific channel
- App Integration
- Audio Ads
- We're looking into implementing ads as a means of supporting Rythm long-term. We'd love to hear your thoughts. Shoot us a message in #general & let's talk about it!

Web App/Activity
This is the biggest update we've released for the activity & web app yet. Featuring a major overhaul to the UI, brand new features, and tons of fixes and improvements. For those of you who are OG Rythm activity users, you'll also receive a notice when you launch the activity letting you know we're sunsetting the oldest version of the UI. If you use this version frequently, don't worry! You won't lose your existing account data or playlists. We'll give you a way to migrate your data over should you choose to.
Home Page
Your home feed is now an infinitely scrollable recommendations list giving you easy ways to jump into something you might like. You'll find many different songs and artists on this feed with highlights on each section so you understand why you're getting the recommendations you are. Missed the old radios? We've turned our old radios feature into the new genre recommendations at the top of the home feed, now powered by autoplay giving you radios with unlimited content.
Autoplay
Autoplay has now been added into the UI. Set the mood you're wanting by clicking on any starter track, then let autoplay take the wheel. Autoplay will add the tracks you listen to without skipping to your autoplay list, which helps autoplay give you songs you'll actually enjoy. Don't like a song? Click the new β¨ button in the bottom right to tweak your autoplay at any time. More settings for autoplay are coming soon.
Crossfade
Crossfade has been added to smoothly transition from one song into the next, cutting out a lot of the gaps and hard transitions between songs. Our team is a big lover of crossfade and hearing it in action is a super satisfying experience. We'll be dropping settings for this soon so you can adjust when Rythm should start the crossfade transition or, for those who want to break our hearts, turn crossfade off.
Playlist Creator
We've replaced the old playlist tool with this new one that is a lot more reliable and fits far better in our new UI. This also allows you to set playlists to public as we slowly plan to reintroduce playlist discovery.
App Theming
The app now changes multiple component colors to better fit the music you're listening to, based off the album art. Progress bars, sliders, and the entire background now shifts as the songs you listen to also change.
Fixes & Improvements
- The library got a touchup to fit the new UI theme and now includes new tabs and way better performance for massive libraries. The library now more effectively fits everything you've saved all into one place.
- New right click menus for tracks
- Improved multi-platform sync and multi-client switch-off
- Way better settings menu with placeholders for new features that are on the way
- New startup loading animation
- Entirely removed onboarding
- Improved mobile support
- Started an initial premium implementation
- We fixed in the ballpark of likely several hundred bugs in this update, it's been cooking for a long time! I couldn't list all of the fixes if I tried. Here's a very short summary of what we did:
- Fixed many issues with player stability
- Majorly fixed the experience of getting automatically matched with friends in the same voice channel and listening with them
- Fixed a ton of performance impacting bugs
Up Next
- Playlist importing
- Social features (Profiles, Friends)
- Rooms
- More autoplay customizability
- More multiplayer listening options
- Mobile app support
Rythm Changelog

Rythm Bot
We cooked up a new setting that's been pretty widely requested so far and are running a new test as well.
Allowed Channels
This new </setting:1371639956337983562> allows you to set what channels Rythm is allowed to respond in and have commands run in. You can specify channels as either an allow or exclude list, which should make configuration really simple for most use-cases. While this wont hide slash commands from entirely showing up when a user types /, you can still make this happen using your Server Settings > Integrations options by configuring what channels Rythm is allowed to be used in as well. However, the allowed channels option should make for a far more user-friendly way of achieving access blocking.
Ads Test
Trade offer: You get free crossfade and no more autoplay limits. We get ads for Rythm Premium. In all seriousness, we're running an initial test for ads in Rythm. These are pretty brief 15-30 second interruptions focused around Rythm Premium, not traditional ads that advertise other products. To go alongside this however, we've made crossfade entirely free & removed all limits on autoplay! Give this experience a try and let us know how it feels. This is just a test, so this experience isn't guaranteed to stay. We're looking to see if a more feature-filled free version of Rythm that occasionally pokes you about upgrades is a better experience for users than just straight locking a bunch of stuff behind premium.
Fixes & Improvements
- Added audio effects into the controls panel
- Fixed the jump back in smart recommendations message sometimes getting sent in the wrong channel
Rythm Activity
As of this changelog, our oldest UI has finally been sunset. Thanks for getting Rythm off its feet & chugging all the way to the end, OG UI.
Data Import
If you used our old UI, a new profile import tool has been added at the top of the UI when you launch the activity. This will let you import your liked songs, playlists, old badges, profile bio, username... Basically everything. You can also skip importing things if you only want some things and not others.
Small Note
We know the OG UI had some features (like friends, rooms, public playlists) that you've been curious about. These are all planned to return in our new UI! Just needs more time in the oven and a truly thought out execution. Features on the way soon.
Rythm Activity, Web, & Desktop Changelog
<@&646630214574669844>
CPU Performance
We noticed reports that Rythm was eating a lot of CPU for users. After investigating, we identified a major bug that was causing Rythm to use a lot more CPU than needed. You should see a lot less CPU usage as a result and Rythm should feel way snappier to use in places like the library (loading a lot of things at once) and interacting with UI elements like sliders. This should also help mobile users out a lot, who were reporting phones getting very hot while using Rythm. Please let us know if you're still having trouble with this!
Additionally, we believe this was also messing with a lot of other things around Rythm. We believe fixing this has also fixed a lot of other issues, but let us know if you're still running into:
- The purple loading bar of death (our in-house name for an issue where tracks get stuck loading with a purple loading bar)
- Songs getting cut off too early or jumping to the next song randomly
- Songs skipping randomly in the middle of playback
- A different song playing than what is shown
- Rythm getting stuck while transitioning to another song
Crossfade Settings
The crossfade setting is now here! This allows you to tweak how soon crossfade should start fading a song in up to 12 seconds before the song ends. This also lets you turn crossfade off entirely if you don't like it or if it just doesn't fit very well for the music you listen to frequently.
Rythm Bot Changelog
<@&646630214574669844>
Short changelog this time. More on the way, we just wanted to let you know we found and fixed an issue causing songs to come up as unavailable when they were actually available. Song availability should see a pretty decent improvement.
Let us know if you're still seeing music come up unavailable a lot!

All Rythm Platforms
We've recently implemented price localization for better regional pricing, reimagined our smart recommendations system, implemented a new bot invite flow, and also made various fixes and improvements.
Price Localization
Rythm now serves regional pricing in essentially every location. This means not only can you now pay in your local currencies, but the prices should better reflect local market conditions for more realistic pricing. This should mean pretty big discounts in regions where 5 USD is quite a lot to ask. This sytem is brand new and may have some issues. If you notice pricing that looks incredibly strange (as in way too high or low), has decimals when your currency doesn't actually have decimals, payments fail when you try, or if your region isn't being properly detected for any reason... Let us know! We'd be happy to get some fixes out for this to keep Rythm affordable for everyone.
Smart Recommendations (Rythm Bot)
In the last iteration of smart recommendations, we got pretty frequent feedback about users not understanding how to turn it off if they didn't want it. We also saw it didn't really live up to what we wanted it to be. We've taken another stab at this system, simplifying it a lot and making it a lot more straightforward to "jump back in" as we originally intended. This will now give you a way to resume not just the last song you were playing, but also port over the entire queue you had in that session. We think this functions way better as a way to jump back in. We've also made disabling it way easier to understand and notice, as we've clearly labeled the button and improved how it functions. Clicking it will now, by default, immediately turn this function off for you for 12 hours. It will also give you a drop-down so you can more permanently disable it for yourself, the channel, or the entire server (as long as you have permission to do so, of course.)
Fixes & Improvements
- Improved bot invite flow to now redirect you to the web app. This should make it more clear what the relationship between the Rythm Bot and our other platforms actually is, and also make you aware of the existence of those platforms.
- Fixed an issue where if you were paused and skipped a track into an ad, the ad would be paused with no way to unpause it. (This one was reported through the feedback button that comes up every so often while you use Rythm. We appreciate everyone using this feature!)
- Fixed the onboarding embed having a missing dropdown for genre selection
- Fixed
/startand the get started button, which would sometimes get removed from the message when it shouldn't have been

<@&646630214574669844>
All Rythm Platforms
We recently implemented some brand new tools for playlist playing and importing, with some extra stuff on the side.
Playlist Importing
You can now import playlists in the web version of Rythm. Playlist links put into the Rythm Bot will now also prompt you with an easy way to import playlists into Rythm to be able to play.
Session History
A new session history tab has been added to the web version of Rythm. The Rythm Bot will automatically DM you links to sessions you were in when the Rythm Bot leaves the voice channel or you do. The session view gives you an easy way to turn your session into a playlist to play again later. There's also some other info like:
- Participants that were in the session
- When the session started & ended
- How many songs you listened to
- What platform you listened on
Don't want Rythm to DM you or your server members for this? We've added dedicated toggles for both. If you want to turn it off for yourself, simply click the bell icon on the DM. If you want to turn it off for your server, there's a new "Session Recap DMs" option in </settings:1371639952596668562> under the Feature Toggles section.
Fixes & Improvements
- We've renamed smart recommendations to "Session Resume Prompt" in the feature toggles. This is more clear to what this feature actually is.
- Fixed an issue with session resumes having a broken channel mention in the button
- Made a ton of improvements to the web version, including:
- Increased playlist import limit from 1000 -> 6000
- Massive playlists should now load almost instantly
- Custom thumbnail uploads for playlists
- Brand new embeds for Rythm song links sent in Discord
- Proper cloud synced settings, so they now save between clients
- Support for saving notices and banner states, no longer will you continually get a data import prompt (for those who used the old UI) if you've already dismissed it once.
Rythm Changelog
<@&646630214574669844>
All Rythm Platforms
We recently dropped a new integration between the Rythm Bot and our other platforms allowing you to control the bot from the web or desktop apps.
Bot <> UI
You can now use the web app or desktop app as a controller for the bot. Join any voice channel on Discord and invite any Rythm bot into your voice channel. With any Rythm application open, you can use the UI to control the bot, providing an easier and more visual experience to use Rythm. While using the integration, music will play only through the bot to prevent audio duplication. The UI will continue to respect your Rythm Bot permission setup, so users will still need DJ permissions to use disruptive commands even through the UI, identical to the Rythm Bot behavior.
Fixes & Improvements
- New queue management in the web app allowing you to move songs around easier
- The web app now contains a banner to download Rythm for Desktop
