Is Rythm glitchy in other servers as well, such as here? Does it sound glitchy for others in the voice call as well? If other people speak in the voice channel, do they sound glitchy as well, or is it just Rythm? Is the lag sporadic or is it persistent?

There's a few reasons it could sound glitchy, the most common one being connection issues or unstable internet. It helps to check if it's happening for everyone or not (especially across users in different locations)

When I use Rythm here I experience no lag, which does lead me to believe it's not a widespread issue for lag and may be a connection issue

Hi! Right now there's three ways to disable this:

For Yourself
You can disable this permanently for yourself by clicking the "notifications off" button, then clicking the dropdown and selecting the option to disable it entirely.

For The Channel
You can disable this just for specific channels permanently by clicking "notifications off" and then using the dropdown to disable this for the channel.

For Your Server
You can disable this for your entire server permanently by using /settings > Feature Toggles > Smart Recommendations. Once disabled, these messages will no longer be sent in your server.

Sometimes there can be trouble matching songs if you're using sources like YouTube, but it's also possible we just don't have the original song you're requesting licensed right now. You can try using /search and looking through the results to see if that gives you something better!

I noticed there are three songs that won't queue properly. When trying to play "maniac" by stray kids rythm will only play a cover piano version of it not the original. It also won't play the single version of "the craving" by twenty-one pilots. No matter what version you queue. it always plays Jenna's version. It also won't play "A king thing to do" by cavetown ft. vic fuentes. It just plays other cavetown songs.

Hihi, you can set your free trial to cancel using the billing tab in the web app. Same place you originally subscribed! You can get a link to it by running /premium and clicking the button. There will be another button on the billing page for cancelling your sub. 🙏

That's unfortunate, but if that's the case, depending on the provider, there are different processes to cancel.

If you subscribed via Discord, you can:

Open your Discord settings.
Head to Subscriptions.
Click Manage Subscriptions at the bottom.
Find Rythm in your subscriptions list.
Then there should be a button to cancel.

If you directly subscribed via Stripe, you can go to rythm.fm, then click your profile picture, then Settings, then Billing, then somewhere on a modal, there will be a button to "Cancel at period end", in which it will not renew and cancel upon expiration.

Hihi! Rythm will automatically move its responses to the last channel it's used in! You can use the "Allowed Channels" option in /settings to edit what channels you want Rythm allowed in. When a channel is disallowed, Rythm will ignore commands run there and wont move its responses to that channel

I am trying to remove the Rythm app from my server. As I already kicked the bot from the server however it still shows as an available command. Bot accounts can only join one voice channel at a time due to Discord limitations. You'll need to add a bot for each channel you're wanting to have a Rythm bot in! Make sure when you're running commands that you also have the right Rythm bot selected.

This is an alpha release of a new test - it's not like the existing Rythm releases. It's a very early proof of concept to see if a new idea works, basically. This iteration is focused around matching with someone who has your music taste, letting you chat with them for a bit or move on to someone else if you're not feeling it

The idea with this is to test new ways to integrate being social with music that isn't just generic listening rooms 🙏

Hmm, my feedback about this is that is too annoying to wait and wait to start listening, this mobile app should be able that user can listen along without solo if they want for more freedom not just with together, so i mean no that is not good idea to have this Finding your match without having a skip option so that users can listen now without waiting longer and longer that is too annoying for me, so my feedback is so to add a skip option so users can listen just now without waiting longer since some others users can be annoying too because of waiting for Finding Your match, and my feedback about this Rythm mobile app is to let users to listen alone in solo if they want but group listening together can be also available if they want to listen together ofc, and one more feedback about it is to fix all the bugs that is on the mobile app. 1. add skip option in Finding Your Match (so users don't need to wait but just start listening now on Rythm mobile app), 2. Let users to listen alone if they want and since it can be more freedom for them and 3. fix the bugs Rythm Dev finds on Rythm mobile app.

Rythm does not use a specific YouTube link to play a song. Rythm uses the name of the “song” and searches the Rythm database (which is completely all licensed music) to play a song. So requesting a 10 hour YouTube song will not work 🙂

Yep, you need either a role assigned as DJ (/settings) or create a standalone role named DJ, then people with either the new role or set role can control the bot. Or, if you're alone with the bot in a VC then you're automatically the DJ.

I don’t think the owner of the server will make these changes. The bot still plays music even if the person who played it already left the VC 😭 How are we supposed to kick the bot from the VC? It keeps spamming the chat huhu

If you're alone with the bot in the VC you should be able to run the /leave command

Other than that, if the server owner is unwilling to create the DJ role or assign an existing role as DJ then you'll have to get someone with manage channel permissions to dismiss the bot from the VC

I see you are not alone in the voice channel at that time. If you were alone, DJ is automatically applied if you are alone. To run majority of commands while someone else is connected to the voice channel then a requirement of a role named DJ (as default) or access to “Manage server” in settings. As “/leave” will effect everyone listening in the voice channel, that one in particular is locked to this requirement

If you are looking for ways to skip songs as a “non DJ” I recommend “/skip”. this will call a vote in that current text chat for a majority vote to skip. (Usually if it is only 2 users and the bot in a voice channel it will skip without other user approval 😉 )

Hi! That was the onboarding prompt that lets you choose some quick start playlists to get started with Rythm immediately. not sure if its relevant, but im having the same issue with rythm not responding.
so, in the server im trying to use rythm for, it shows as offline
however, in my home server, rythm is online.
i understand that bots can be sharded to distribute work load, so that may be the case in this circumstance.
side note: controlling rythm from the application also does nothing, and neither does attempting to use rythm from the website.

i have removed the bot and had it rejoin twice, and reset all the permissions and role options each time, reauthorizing everything, aswell as clearing cache from the website.

Hihi! You can use /settings and enable DJ Only mode to restrict bot use to only those who have DJ perms. DJ permissions are given to those with the designated DJ Role (also changeable in the settings) which is by default any role named "DJ"

Hi! You can use the Allowed Channels option in /settings to achieve this

Howdy! If you want to give them unrestricted access (what we call DJ perms) to features, there's two ways to do this right now.

Option 1 - Manage Server
Give them Manage Server. Giving them the Manage Server perm grants them access to all Rythm commands and makes them a DJ by default. This does mean they can control your /settings as well. This is a more dangerous option, so we only recommend this if you trust the people in the server.

Option 2 - DJ Role
This is a safer option. In /settings you can adjust what role gives DJ perms. By default this is any role named DJ. You can adjust this to be the @everyone role which will grant DJ perms to everyone in the server if you don't want to assign roles. You can create any role you want to designate as the DJ role, or just create a role named DJ to use the one by default.

User songs will be limited at 10 for free users even if the setting is higher than 10, but will limit if it's set lower than 10. Free users can't have their limits bypassed through the settings, they're just meant to give server owners more control over how Rythm is used in their servers. So you can make Rythm more restrictive if that's what you want, but not less restrictive

The 217 that are still syncing will be added to the playlist shortly, it's just letting you know that it's still in the process of adding them & will continue in the background while you do other things around the app

Hey quick question, I'm looking for a music bot that supports share links from youtube, and I'm happy that this bot has a youtube playlist import feature, but I'm having trouble importing the playlist that I want. I use Youtube music as my personal music app because I like having early access to songs posted by people that haven't been licensed yet, and a lot of smaller popular song remixes, but I know youtube has been making changes to their APIs and how people access these videos lately. The playlist I'm trying to import contains one of these possibly unlicensed remix songs, is the issue with the import a youtube api issue or is it something on the bot's end? No this shouldn't be the case. They could be confused by autoplay, which adds more music to the queue automatically based on what you've queued prior whenever the queue is completely empty. You can still skip or play during that though!

Howdy! What you're gonna need to do is go into the Playlists tab on the side bar there. You'll see a purple button called "import" in the top right of that screen (image attached).

Once you're there, you can put in any public spotify or youtube playlist link and it'll try to import the music. You can import into existing Rythm playlists or have it create a brand new one for you. Hope that helps!

How does it work?

When you're in the role editor for your server, you can check this permission (screenshot attached). It will give anyone with that role some permissions to manage your server, like:

• Changing your server's name
• Adding bots to the server
• Creating and updating automod rules
• Viewing server invites
• Switching the server region (this is for voice channels)

For Rythm, this means the user automatically becomes a DJ and can access your /settings as well

Playlists can still be created and queued, but only the first 10 songs up to the limit will be added to the queue at one time. Any playlists you make will be there if you decide to upgrade to premium though!

You can't request songs. You can make your own playlists if you like.

Ah. Rythm imports new songs automatically.

So try this: /play <SpotifyURL> and it will load the song into Rythm and then play it.

Then there is no way to import songs. You need to use the bot first because the bot can import the songs to the Rythm System. You can use the bot in #commands 😉

Howdy! Playlists can be created through the web app via import from other platforms or by manual creation. You can then use the Rythm playlist link in /play to play that playlist!

Does that solve your issue or were you having other problems?

Free users are limited to 10 songs in the queue at one time (which at an average of about 3 minutes a song gives you about a ~30 minute queue at any time)

One of the only premium limitations Rythm has at the moment 🙏

Hey! make sure to finish the import flow and then copy the link at the end with the copy link button

After clicking the import link it should give you the steps to complete the import

At the end of that process you should have a button called "Copy link"
