Yes! If you grab the link to the playlist (you can do this on the web app, https://app.rythm.fm/ ) you can put it into the default playlist in your /settings and it will play that playlist when the queue is empty.

We're working on more direct ways to play playlists rn though!

Ahhh yeah that version of the activity is the old UI, it's technically on a different database than the web app right now. They'll be merged when the new UI fully rolls out! For the moment they're disconnected. If you imported a spotify playlist to create this, the default playlist option in the bot will import public spotify playlists and recreate them as a Rythm playlist in your library

Use the command /settings and toggle on autoplay. Rythm will queue songs when it’s empty based on the last songs played.

You can turn off Always Playing in /settings. However you can’t toggle when it leaves timer. I believe it’s when everybody leaves it quits after minute, could be wrong.

Hihi! You can fix this in two different ways:

1. Give the people you want to be able to control the bot a role named "DJ"
2. Use /settings and set the "DJ Role" setting to be a role they already have

Both of these will achieve the same result! Keep in mind that anyone with DJ permissions essentially has control over the bot at any time, including clearing the queue, forceskipping, and overriding your DJ Only settings.

Hi! I’d like to suggest that Rythm adds support for Lossless Audio with High-Resolution (Hi-Res) quality.

Many users today enjoy streaming in FLAC or ALAC formats at 24-bit / 96 kHz or higher, which gives much better sound quality than standard MP3. Platforms like TIDAL, Apple Music, and Amazon Music already offer this. It would be amazing if Rythm also introduced this feature.

Maybe it could be included in a new premium tier, like “Rythm HiFi” or “Platinum,” for those who want audiophile-level quality. Thanks for considering this! 🎧

If you frequently run into this, you can also adjust Rythm's settings using /settings to only allow trusted users to use Rythm, but I know that's a bit of a more extreme option

Probably cost more than it's worth but a AI filter before playing would help, obviously not everyone needs it so it can be off by default.

Sidenote, why are command aliases registered as separate commands? For example there's both /setting and /settings, then hist/recent etc. Maybe an option to deregister aliases if the guild owner chooses to do so would be neat :)

Hmmm yeah unfortunately it's a quirk of slash commands, there's no super nice way to do aliases as an alias is just another command with identical function basically. I'll discuss with the dev some pros vs cons about aliases and see what we come up with 🙏

I think for prefix commands aliases make sense but for slash I would think there's not much use.

Sapphire bot allows having some commands as slash and some as prefix so maybe Rhythm can be tweaked to allow such changes per guild.

Hello! Apologies for the late response. You can set up Rythm exactly like we have! All of the Rythm bots have identical function, so you can invite as many of them as you need for your use.

Once you invite a Rythm, you'll need to use /settings to set it up properly. Here, we're using the Always Playing, VC Lock, DJ Only, and Default Playlist features to achieve our setup.

1. Nope! 24/7 playback is actually enabled by default on Rythm now, this functionality is default behavior for all users 😌
2. We offer two ways right now to have music play continuously. You can rely on autoplay which will add a new track to the queue when the current queue ends based on what you've listened to in the past, or you can define a "Default Playlist" in /settings. Default playlists play whenever the queue is empty and will be automatically shuffled to reduce repetitiveness. You can import playlists from Spotify or Rythm, however if you import from Spotify make sure to set the playlist to public first or you'll get an error! Default Playlists and autoplay are mutually exclusive, so if you have a default playlist set autoplay will be disabled
3. If you click on any of the bots on the sidebar, you'll be able to click "Add App" and select a server to invite it to. All of the bots are identical to each other and aren't limited to a specific genre, that's just a nickname for our setups here. Invite as many as you need for your own setup!

Most users have the new UI currently, right now only servers that have used Rythm in the past will be on the old UI while all other servers are on the new one. We have a massive update coming to the new UI in the next week, then after that we expect to look into reimplementing monetization again. We're trying to target features that aren't core but really improve QoL when using Rythm to have on premium. The goal here is it doesn't feel super annoying to use & makes premium still feel like a really nice upgrade. We're still super early in talks of implementing monetization & we're going to be open to community feedback during implementation so we'll see where it goes

If you need more channels simultaneously, you'll need to invite the other Rythm bots to have 1 for every channel you need! You can invite them by clicking any of them in the side bar, clicking "Add App", "Add to my server", and then selecting the server to invite to.

Additionally, anyone with Manage Server permissions has DJ automatically.

They're technically split databases right now still while we're developing the new UI, so your info is still on the old UI. If you remember what server you used Rythm on before, that server should still have the old UI. Hihi! Rythm will stay in your voice channels automatically even when no one is there. If you manually disable "Always Playing" in /settings, this will be disabled.

Rythm will resume playing when someone joins, we have two options for music playback automatically. The first is autoplay, which queues up new music automatically whenever the queue runs empty based on things already played in the session. This does require someone to start it by queuing at least one song.

The second option is creating a default playlist through /settings. You can import a playlist already created on Rythm or a playlist from Spotify, but if you import from Spotify make sure to set the playlist to public first! Default playlists conflict with autoplay, autoplay will be disabled automatically while a default playlist is set. Default playlists will play automatically whenever the queue is empty and will be shuffled to prevent repetitiveness.

Yes! You can add any of the Rythm bots from the sidebar. They all function identically to the main Rythm!

As for locking Rythm to a single channel, you can use the VC Lock setting in /settings to achieve that. However, for blocking commands being run in channels, the best way to do that is using the Server Settings > Integrations tab and using Discord's built-in permissions

And i found that it can be a bug about playlist importing from Spotify to Rythm example i want to import a 290 songs to Rythm from spotify playlist and the Rythm bot response that its importing only 276 tracks. it also happened on Rythm Canary bot and when i imported a Spotify playlist that there was a not sound on playlist spotify to Rythm then on Rythm there was a song added to Rythm playlist that there was not on Spotify Playlist. Can you check it right now for bug and if there is a bug just fix them now and test them out to be sure it 100% works.

The reason you wont see all of the tracks imported 100% of the time is a licensing issue, we don't have 100% coverage for all of the tracks in that playlist yet. It imports the ones we do have though! Can you give me an example of a song that was imported that wasn't on your original playlist? Sending the spotify playlist & the name of the song it added will help a bunch 🙏

However, I have one issue: there is a “like” feature, but as far as I know, it only works for a single song and can’t be used for any others.

This is a temporary issue right now due to some technical stuff, the short and sweet is that these tracks have audio ingested into our system but the full meta content of the tracks are not entirely available, which makes the track not able to be added to your liked songs. This will be fixed soon, and we'll likely look at improving the wording here!

To determine if a track can be liked right now, any time a track has a default Rythm logo in the /nowplaying image, it's not fully ingested quite yet. Hope this helps! (example attached of what I mean)

Why activity on mobile is so buggy? It’s almost impossible to join the room. Also there are no clear guidelines for users to join room in mobile app. Every launch it asks to choose a favorite artist. I’m mostly using it with my phone and subscribed to premium but I don’t see any benefits. Is it PC only stuff and I should use bot instead?

Btw, yesterday I tried to make a listening party with a bot and wanted to play new Dropkick Murphy’s album. It only allows me to play half an album and then said that it couldn’t find further songs. In activity this album isn’t available at all. Without any explanation. If you can’t support mobile version of the activity - just say to people that it’s barely working. Considering that I’m using “the top music bot” I had very frustrating experience

Super sorry about the issues. Totally get where you're coming from. Unfortunately mobile is pretty unsupported right now, we've done a couple updates to try and make it easier and better to use in the mean time but ultimately it'll probably be a little bad until we can put out our mobile app.

The discord bot is a super good alternative that is platform agnostic - you can use it both on mobile and desktop to good effect. I'd give that a try if it sounds interesting!

Hmmm it definitely shouldn't be laggy, but it can be impacted depending on your server region. The best region for Rythm right now is around US Central, so I'd try that first if you experience issues! If it continues being laggy please do let me know, intermittent lag every so often is a little unavoidable but consistent lag is definitely not!

Hmmm it isn't, autoplay is designed to only give one announcement message when it starts autoplaying and shouldn't send another unless you manually interrupt it by queuing a track yourself. Looking at it, this could be partly due to our internal search outage right now messing with track resolution since it swapped to a fallback of all time history and not just session history

In theory it should get resolved after the search is fixed, which I can ping you for when I get an update that it's fixed!

In general right now you'll have better luck with spotify links since we can do far more direct track matching, with things like youtube we have to do a lot of lifting to try and find what specific track you're looking for

However, it's also possible that we just may not have that track in our library right now! Licensing is definitely an ongoing effort. Feel free to drop some links or songs that aren't working and we can take a look though 🙏

Autoplay will automatically adjust based on what you're listening to! If you queue up a specific artist or genre, autoplay will automatically try to find similar music and add it to the queue. If you queue up more manually, autoplay will consider all of the tracks you've queued up when it goes to find more music

Also, after inviting one of those bots into a Server, how would I set it up so that it only plays one genre ie Top Hits.

Fixed them! Tysm. To set up a genre bot like we have, you'll need to find or make a playlist full of the genre of music you're wanting to play in your server on Rythm or Spotify, then give that playlist link to the /setting command for the "Default Playlist"

That will make it play that playlist whenever nothing is queued up (Rythm also shuffles default playlists automatically to avoid playlists getting repetitive)

I believe this is likely because this track was never licensed, when we're given a link we check for that track in our library to see if we have it to stream. This is basically identical to the behavior of traditional streaming services, so think in terms of those kinds of libraries when looking for tracks

The lil slider I assume is the progress bar for the track that you're talking about, which is just emojis! There's some logic that changes the emojis based on your progress through the track. The duration (0:00/1:00) is also just a single line code block like this: 0:00/1:00

If it's displaying in the app but showing as unavailable, I believe that just means it's waiting on proper ingestion. Ingestion is pretty complicated rn, but there's a ton of steps and filtering tracks go through before they actually become available to play. With time these should all come available, but I'll make sure we reprioritize ingesting content after our UI update drops

Howdy! You may have some more luck with /search, but do keep in mind that when a track is requested, we have to look in our library to see if the track has been licensed to stream first. With YouTube this gets a bit iffy because there's a lot of third party versions of tracks or variations like live versions, music videos, or lyric videos which we then have to try to match as well.

If you're having a hard time still, Spotify tends to be much more accurate if you use those links to request. Alternatively you can type the song name & artist into /search or /play and see if that works better

For sure! On the side bar here you'll see a bunch of Rythm bots, click on any of them that you want and press "Add App." This will let you invite as many as you want to your server. They all function identically to the main Rythm but have separate /settings, so if you've configured the main Rythm at all make sure to configure these as well!

Hihi, this is a brand new limitation that we've added as our initial premium implementation. We're super open to feedback about how it feels to use as a free user. What's your thoughts about it so far?

Well, in comparison to before when there was no limitation, I'm biased to having no cap haha!

It does seem odd to have a cap, when we can have playlists with hundreds of songs, but if we want to manually add we are limited to just 10 unless we have a premium plan.

Since we aren't able to search for playlists yet, this was sort of a work around to search for multiple artists & just add them to the queue.

On average, 3 min a song = 30 min of song time. In our server our sessions last for hours. So a bit of a bummer to be capped out at 10 as it just becomes manual to have to keep updating. Adds a bit more work for the DJ to stay on top of.

Yeah that's understandable. Our goal here is that we unfortunately do have to add friction to some spots to give proper incentive to users to upgrade, but we also don't want to make the free version feel super oppression and annoying. Assuming that this was a limitation that would stay, what number would you find much less annoying? If we increased it to say... 20 in the queue. That's a solid hour of listening before you need to queue up more, would that feel better?

Also, does your group manually queue only? Do you guys use anything like autoplay or default playlists at all?

We only have a few folks that are given the DJ access so that means they need to be available as well.

All but 1 bot has default playlists setup. This bot we were wanting to use as any request goes kind of thing. I would love to see the cap at 60, but I totally understand the reasoning on why a cap is being put in place.

Hmmm yeah being totally honest I don't think we'd be able to bring it up to 60. We'll definitely be taking a look at our metrics over the next week or so to see how long on average users are listening to Rythm uninterrupted for, because we can use that change to help base our numbers better.
