Rythm was designed to solve the issue of listening with friends online, so we built Rythm for group listening so it currently doesn't support solo listening. You get a few minute grace period to invite friends and set up a queue before it'll mute/pause!

If Rythm detects a disconnection after a while it will show a popup message saying “you are disconnected from the activity” (which usually happens if you put the activity inactive in a browser tab).

Although as you mentioned it straight up disconnected you from the activity without notice, it’s an unexpected behavior. May I ask how long have you two been in the session before it disconnected?
