As can be seen here the enemy’s head was poking up on the top left corner of the chest. I left the binoculars a few pixels to the left so when I aimed I moved a few pixels to the right to account for this before popping back up to take the shot. But I ended up looking miles away from them.
This happens quite often and means losing battles especially to PC players putting us console players and a bigger disadvantage than we currently are.
It seems from some testing you look where your body is positioned not where your head is. I.E. if I had have pushed my left stick (movement, not strafing) forward I would have been closer but again, not where I left the binoculars.
A this be fixed? It was an issue in SE5 too.
