The wide blade extends out from the hilt with a broad fuller running nearly its entire length, to help provide strength and flexibility, before stopping several inches from the point. Mottled black runs throughout the grey hue of the low steel, reminiscent of a sickly growth. Thick, dark bronze forms the cruciform hilt with an outward curved crossguard. The handle is covered in ebonwood, its surface smooth and contoured for a sure grip, and capped with a dragonmist crystal pommel.

A bolster of dull grey rolaren separate the dark xazkruvrixis from the white ghostwood hilt, and provides a contrast between light and dark. The grooved handled is polished smooth for a secure, comfortable grip, and capped with a circular disc for balance. You also notice a small enchanter's glyph.

Thick, heavy mithril has been forged into the head of the hammer. Unadorned in any way, its utilitarian design allows its massive size to speak for itself. Trying to figure out when the moon pendants were sold last time so I know if they were good or not...

Edit: Hmm. Well, I found it, but details were so scant that I still have no idea if they were good or not.

Dett says, "Liabo provides physical defense; Lornon, magical defense; Tilaok, phystical attack strength; and Makiri, magical attack strength. The bonuses are strongest when the moons are high and full, and will change with the moons."
Dett says, "Followers of Liabo or Lornon deities will get an increase from the effects of the moon of their deity, but a reduced benefit from the other."
Dett says, "It's a unique artifact."```
(Went for 220m in a 2020 silver auction, which is definitely not an amount I'd be willing to risk spending without more info, but I suppose we'll see what this Tilaok one goes for and/or if we *do* get more info.)

Current Mania Item: a pellucid obsidian sphere pendant containing a tiny orrery
Mania Item Cost: 250,000 bloodscrip

You note the following details about a pellucid obsidian sphere pendant containing a tiny orrery:

It has 0 charges.
It could be activated by waving it.
It will persist after its last magical charge has been expended.
It is a small item, under a pound.
It is estimated to be worth about 1,000,000 silvers.
It is magic resistant.
It is predominantly crafted of obsidian.
The pendant can be worn around the neck. The pendant appears to serve some purpose.
This obsidian sphere pendant cannot be altered.

This obsidian sphere pendant, when worn, provides both physical and magical bonuses to attack and defense strength, based on Elanthia's four moons.

Liabo provides a physical defense strength general bonus.
Lornon provides a magical defense strength general bonus.
Tilaok provides a physical attack strength general bonus
Makiri provides a magical attack strength general bonus.

The amount of any bonus is equal to 2 times the number of active moons. An active moon is one that is not lost in or below the horizon.

The phase of a moon affects the strength of its bonus, as does its altitude:
  Phase: Altitude:
Full Moon: 100% At zenith: 100%
  Gibbous: 75% Near zenith: 75%
Half Moon: 50% Upper sky: 50%
  Crescent: 25% Middle sky: 25%
New Moon: 10% Lower sky: 10%
                        Near/below horizon: 0%

A moon provides its combat bonus as long as that moon is active.

To answer Vishra's questions about GSD weapons:

GSD weapons have a script flare called Darkrasp. Darkrasp deals HP damage to an enemy and applies Feeble. When Darkrasp triggers, it grants you a benefit called Profane Bargain, which gives your next attack an AS bonus based on the weapon's current Satiety.

#

At Tier 4, Profane Bargain gives you an SMR Defense buff based on Satiety that lasts for 15 seconds after every flare.

#

At Tier 5, Profane Bargain can also put you into hiding.

fathom tendon
#

Okay I'm still working out some things. And the GSD weapons do SO much- I'm sure I'll miss a few things. But for those who are curious, here's the analyze:
The morning star is a Greater ShadowDeath weapon of Tier 5.

The product of a perverse and corrupting ritual, the star feeds upon the life essence of foes to gain Satiety, which empowers its wielder and its own unsavory abilities. The star has the following capabilities:

Darkrasp: When not at 0 Satiety, the weapon has a chance to flare with inky
black tendrils that will deal concussion damage and apply Feeble
to the target and grant the wielder a boost to Attack Strength
on their next attack based on the weapon's current Satiety.
                     Cost: 1 Satiety

Umbral Crescent: When WAVEd, the weapon performs an area of effect attack affecting
up to 1 creature per Tier; on a failed SMR test, the creature takes
health damage and the weapon generates 5 Satiety per target hit.
                     Cooldown: 1 min

Predator's Lure: When TURNed, the weapon forces up to 5 unengaged hostile creatures
within adjacent rooms to make a Mental MDR test; on a failure, they
are drawn into the wielder's room.
Cost: 5 Satiety; Cooldown: 3 min

Black Transfusion: The wielder can INFUSE {#} spirit into the weapon, generating 5
                     Satiety per spirit infused.
                     Cooldown: 5 min

Umbral Dread: Umbral Crescent also applies the Horrified condition to affected
                     creatures.

Shadowgate: The wielder can TOSS their weapon. It will search for another
transport-eligible room in the area with at least one hostile
creature and no other adventurers. The player and, if they are
leading a group, their group, will teleport to the room.
Cost: 10 Satiety, Cooldown: 3 min

Improved Darkrasp: Darkrasp flares enhance the wielder's senses and reflexes,
granting a bonus to SMR defense for 15 seconds based on Satiety.

Malison of Unmaking: The user can CLENCH their weapon, causing their next successful
attack with it to afflict their target with a disruptive curse.
The target must make an SMR test every 2 seconds for the next 10
seconds, taking Disruption damage on failed tests.
Cost: 5 Satiety; Cooldown: 2 min

Gloomform: The wielder can RAISE their weapon, empowering themself with
darkness. During this time, the weapon behaves as if it is
at maximum Satiety for 1 minute, during which Darkrasp's flare
chance is increased. Abilities do not consume Satiety while
                     Gloomform is active.
Cost: 50 Satiety; Cooldown: 5 min

Hungering Gate: 3 seconds after being activated, the wielder's Shadowgate will
detonate. Up to 3 creatures must make an SMR test or take
                     Disruption damage and be Terrified.

Apex Darkrasp: Darkrasp flares have a chance to hide the wielder.

Additionally, the morning star has the following fluff abilities:

TOUCH
SNAP {target}
TILT
GAZE
LISTEN
PULL (produces shadow orbs)
HUG (meld your weapon with your body)
SUMMON (retrieve your weapon)

You might be able to have a talented merchant lighten the morning star for you.

Highlights/Additional Info:

  1. These are 7x base and have acid in addition to the Darkrasp flares. The weapon provides a passive AS bonus up to +25 based on how sated it is. Your first attack after a Darkrasp flare or the AoE Umbral Crescent ability can increase your AS by up to another +25 when fully sated. As mentioned above, the Darkrasp flares also give you a solid SMR bonus for 15 seconds
  2. Darkrasp flares seem to do up to 100 damage and apply Feeble (50% penalty to EBP) and have a chance to hide you at T5
  3. Predator's Lure can bring up to 5 creatures from neighboring rooms into your own room, and Shadowgate will take you to a nearby room with creatures but not players (and then hit them with an AoE 3 seconds later)
  4. The disruptive curse from Malison of Unmaking is more powerful than mindwrack flares (Usually 50-70 per 2 second tic)
  5. Pulling these weapons will create neat shadow orbs you can RP with
  6. Much like T3 Briar, It's very easy to keep the base +25 AS bonus up (well +23/+24) continuously

Mirthbrand Weapons- Overview and Review
Hey everyone, I just wanted to do a post about @scenic jacinth's amazing new **Mirthbrand weapons. **
Overall: This is a great upper-mid tier powered weapon script with an amazing approach to weapon ability charges that changes the way you hunt, adds a lot of fun to the experience, and buffs your offhand weapon. While the absence of damage from glitter flares may detract for some, the truly inspired messaging/flavor and roleplaying depth more than make up for it and make this a noteworthy addition to the world of GS weapon scripts.
Power: B+
**Flavor: **A
**Fun: **A+

#

~Mirthbrand Weapon Highlights:~

  1. Script-based glitter flares: -25DS/-15TD no damage flares that have a chance to hit up to 2 additional targets (rare).
  2. **Three activated abilities **with max charges of 1 (Brave Companions), 3 (Drunken Prodigy), and 5 (Piercing Wit). A new charge is earned at 5 kills for Drunken Prodigy, 10 kills for Piercing Wit, and 50 kills for Brave Companions. This is hands down the best implementation of the limited charges approach to weapon scripts I’ve seen. Normally the more you use a weapon with limited charges, the less interesting it becomes. This flips the script on its head- the more you use it, the more you’re rewarded. It adds extra depth and excitement to your hunts.
  3. Joyful Heart: A passive AS bonus that cycles from +0-25 based on your kill counter (+1/4 kills; kill counter resets after 100). The bonus applies to your offhand weapon as well!
4)** Drunken Prodigy** is an AoE attack that affects a random number of targets (I’ve seen as many as 4 I think) and guarantees glitter flares on each hit
  4. **Piercing Wit **is a single target MDR attack that guarantees glitter flares and also causes the Horrified condition
  5. **Brave Companions **first creates an SMR-based AoE slash attack that can hit 1 or more targets and then creates random SMR-based Slash attacks that hit one or more targets every 5 seconds for a total of 60 seconds. These attacks follow you as you move around. Note unlike the other abilities, Brave Companions gets a charge at exactly 50 kills and 100 kills, not every 50 kills after a charge has been used.
  6. There’s a non-activated ability: Helping Hand that apparently will attempt to save you under some circumstances. I haven’t seen it activate yet.
  7. It makes MEAD! ** You can POINT it at someone to put mead in their hand
    9)
It has some really lovely messaging, including ambients-** quite a few. There are at least 12 (THANK YOU @keen cosmos!)

Greater ShadowDeath Review and Info (maybe someone will kindly add the updated info to the wiki page?)
Overall: If you think T3 Briar is one of the best weapon scripts in the game (and it is), and you think ShadowDeath is the worst weapon script in the game (and it is), then Greater ShadowDeath will blow your mind. Auction tier versions have 15 (yes 15!) low CD active and passive abilities with no daily caps on use that leverage a Satiety charge pool system that’s extremely easy (and fun) to manage. This includes up to a +25AS passive bonus to the weapon that doesn’t drop between hunts, Darkrasp flares that deal strong concussion damage, enfeeble enemies, and boost both your AS and your SMR defense significantly, and a 1min CD AoE wave attack. The activated abilities are things you actually want to use, and the flavor and messaging are exceptional. Make no mistake: the combat power, utility, and flavor make Auction quality GSD one of the top 5 weapon scripts in the game.

#

Satiety/Charge System:

  1. Holds up to 50 Satiety/charges, which directly affect the passive AS bonus and the post-Darkrasp AS boost (Up to +25 each at max)
  2. Recharged by infusing spirit (1sp = 5 charges) through Dark Transfusion or by using the 1min CD Umbral Crescent AoE attack (5 charges per target/ max 5 targets). Extremely easy to keep fully charged, and charges don’t fall off until used. coughBriarcough
  3. Satiety also powers four other activated abilities and Darkrasp flares (see below)

Combat Abilities:

  1. Has both Improved & Apex Darkrasp Flares (up to 100 damage, no crit, +10SMR Defense for 15 seconds, up to a +25AS boost on your next swing, AND a high chance of hiding you without RT) and inherent Cat B Acid flares. Darkrasp Flares cost one Satiety charge per flare.
  2. Easy to keep a +25 AS passive bonus up that applies to the weapon by keeping Satiety at max charges. No activation/upkeep required.
  3. Malison of Unmaking (5 charges) attacks a target and then puts them through up to 5 rounds (2 secs/per) of extremely powerful, SMR based disruption crits. Great for enemies with a lot of blood. 2min CD
  4. Umbral Crescent w/ Umbral Dread: AoE SMR-based concussion damage attack that hits between 0-5 targets. Damage scales really well and also applies Horrified to targets (no crits). Each target you hit recharges 5 Satiety. It'll often only hit 1-2 targets, but hits higher pretty often as well. And 1min CD means you can keep using it!

Utility:

  1. Predator’s Lure (5 charges) brings in up to 5 unengaged creatures from adjacent rooms- which really helps speed up your hunts (MDR Based). 3min CD
  2. Hungering Shadowgate (10 charges): takes you and your group to a random nearby room with an enemy and causes a strong SMR-based AoE attack after 3 seconds. 3 min CD
  3. Gloomform (25 charges): For 1 minute abilities don’t use up charges, and you get the full +25 passive and post-Darkrasp AS boosts. Darkrasp flares become more common. Since it can only be used at max charges and empties your charges, it’s hard to imagine situations where it’s worth using this ability. 5min CD

Flavor/RP:

  1. HUG your weapon to absorb it into your body (storage) weightlessly (Summon item <weapon> to pull it back out)
  2. PULL to create Shadow Orbs. They have a few verbs, but hold on to them. They turn into one of 8 variations each with multiple ambients after about 90 seconds. A LOT of work and detail went into these- I'm impressed.
