#Older items missing analyze

I know recently there was a push to add a bunch of analyze messages to older items missing them. As I clean out my plat lockers I've come accross a couple items without one. Is there a proper place to list these items so someone can look at them?

I have one. That might have been my bug report that got it fixed! I just put one in the other day, after pulling it out from my locker and not remembering how to activate it. It's the orbs found in [Gwingwen's Gathering, East Loop]. There might be more out in the world, certainly others are bigger, better, and older hoarders than I am.

It has ten (?) random scenes when you look into it, each portraying different moments in history. Scenes like Despana and Maelshyve, Talbot Dabbings' death, the creation of the Elven houses, the arrival of the Aelotoi (and references to Erithian and Half-Krolvin), Ur-Daemon war, the Nagothrym tale of Eorgina's birth, Empress Mynal'lyanna's assassination, and a few more.

Hey Vanah - I put in a bugitem on a box I have in plat. It's supposed to make jewlery? It has no analyze, and appears to be broken? I assisted on it and the GM who answered told me to leave it closed for a while to see if it "finishes". But it's been days now and it's still broken far as I can tell. I'm not sure if there is some sort of command to "clear" the issue, without the analyze.

ok, so it looks like that you have to close the box, rub it, and wait. Initially the wait is 90 minutes. But if you open the box, that pauses the timer, and when you close the box it adds the amount of time the box has been opened to the timer. I can't see what your timer is because it's saved on the gem and not the box, but the box has to be closed until that mystery time is up.

This kind of item highlights some of the difficulties with adding analyzes. No one is familiar with them, so I gotta review to see how it works, and then seen in the light of 30 years of development it might not look favorable. So do I just slap on how it works, or toss it in the pile of stuff that could be looked at

yeah it's not really...ideal but also more involved than I have time for at the moment

but, one other thing we can do to help you sort stuff is update the RECALL verb to work even if your item's loresong isn't unlocked

We've gotten a couple of requests for non-scripted items. There's nothing I can do about that.

Just an fyi, the gem box is in prime now. I did not check to see if the migration fixed the timer yet, but if you ever want to poke at it let me know

Four of them were mine! Though I have an elemental circlet, and didn't realize they didn't have an analyze. And I had one of the language spectacles and didn't know that's what they were
