The final shop in Elenesse Atelier is called Little Ticker. This shop will offer a mechanism of the same name. While the gnomic tinkerer was very creative with the gears and gadgets, she was not terribly clever with the names.

Her device, however, is rather unique. It has no tiers and can be customized completely by you. That’s right! Though the base item may need the assistance of a merchant to have its look changed, what it produces is 100% customizable by the average Joe. Let us explain.

The device creates tickets.

  • You can design the LOOK of these tickets by FEEDing the device a Life Aquatic Sea Critter, a Bugs on Parade Insect, or a Flower Press Flower.
  • You can change the BASE description of the ticket and the READ by FEEDing the device a Papermaker ticket that is fashioned from writing paper.
  • Once you do that, you can GAZE at your device to see the following information:

As you gaze at the contraption, you are able to look through one of the glass panes to see the ticket inside. It provides you with the following information:
Base Ticket: a print-covered scarlet red ticket
Long Description of Ticket: a print-covered scarlet red ticket sponsored by “The Shives Society”
Show Description of Ticket: A flourish of delicately sketched twigs decorates each corner of the scarlet red ticket, a gold-swept green Lumnea beetle balancing precariously on one yew twig.
Ticket Read: This raffle ticket is for testing purposes only. Hang tight.
Ticket Creator is: Thandiwe
The Raffle Sponsor is: The Shives Society
You have conducted exactly 0 raffle(s) with the spider contraption.

Oh, did I forgot to mention that it will run a raffle for you?

POINT the device at someone and it will add their name to the device and print them a ticket with a unique # on it. You can point your device at 99 individuals before it won’t accept anymore.

At any point, both before and after, your raffle is drawn, you can READ the device to get a full list of those that are participating.

Once you are ready, you can PUSH the button on the device, and it will randomly select one of the stored names. It will announce it to the room you are in, but you will be responsible for tracking down the owner and delivering their raffle item.

Want to start a new raffle? No sweat, **CLEAN **the device.

Want to name a different sponsor? No sweat, WHISPER a new SPONSOR to the device.

Want to change the name of the raffle creator? No sweat, WHISPER a new ** CREATOR** to the device.

It would be another piece in my collection of gambling, carnival kind of activities I am planning. This was unexpected and just gave me more ideas/potential. Will compete with the cheese wheel and woodchopper I want. <Play Queen's I Want It All>

Does an auction tier auction block have a raffle feature? I'm really confused by the comparison to the auction blocks. because auctions =/= raffles. but several people have made this connection so I feel I am out of the loop on something.
I read the wiki, it does. Ok that explains it.

even as a CHE officer, I'm crazy excited and let the other officers know we need one for the House. This is AMAZING.

Do you put one papermaker ticket in with the information, and that will create up to 99 tickets from the Ticker?

Have I mentioned I'm crazy excited over this, totally loving it, can't wait to get it.... and I'm drooling thinking of all the possibilities with it.

You analyze the spider contraption and sense that the creator has provided the following information:

Little Ticker is a gnomic contraption designed to allow you to conduct a raffle. The tickets it produces are highly customizable. To create a raffle, follow these steps:

Ticket Setup:

  • Design the base description of your ticket by creating a piece of Writing Paper with the noun of "ticket" in the Papermaker.
  • Using a quill, write the terms of your raffle on your ticket.
  • Feed your ticket to the contraption.

Customizing Ticket:
To further customize the LOOK of your ticket, you may feed it either a Life Aquatic Sea Critter, a Bugs on Parade Insect, or a Flower Press Flower.

To Distribute Tickets:
POINT the contraption at a player; this will assign the player to the raffle and provide you with a ticket that you can now give to the player.

Draw the Raffle:
PUSH the button on the contraption to have it randomly select a winner from the stored list. Distribution of the prize is on you, though we do recommend that if they aren't present, you mail them their prize. We also recommend that you post the winner of your raffle on the nearest town Message Board.

Please Note:
You may only enter 99 individuals in your raffle.

Alterations:
You may customize the contraption provided that it is some kind of machinery or mechanism wrought to resemble a creature. The LOOK will reflect basic settings, but you can give it a LONG description.
The adjective should only ever store a type of creature.
The contraption will always be made of metal.

You may change the SPONSOR or CREATOR field freely via WHISPER.

This is why I love the trove, if I'm being honest. It's because I can put the item in it, turn the raffle on, and walk away. Players don't have to be in game, I don't have to track them down, etc.

Er... what could they do other than the raffle? Like, provide entry to something? That'd be cute. Little rentable barriers that you need a ticket to get through. If you just want to write goofy stuff, the Papermaker can make tickets, citations, warrants, and invoices.

Oh, I see. So you can only do one winner per raffle, but it keeps the list until you clear it manually? A PUSH DOODAD 5 option or a knob to select number of winners or something would be a good addition for the vague and nebulous future.

I just submitted another one (and it looks like I did this twice) point it at a wrong name (typo)

going over it, I had local echo off, so i cant see my commands but I think it messed up again...
because I have an alias to point it At and then give them the ticket... so I got the blank, but then handed them their ticket...

Your raffle has already drawn and was the winner. There was one ticket that didn't have a name register, but they have the ticket. I just can't match the ticket number. It was a public drawing, so I was hoping to match the ticket number at least.

I didn't realize I could only feed the ticker paper bugs or sea creatures. I fed it a gem sea creature and while it said it could accept it, it ate it anyway.

if I'm understanding correctly, they want to be able to mail someone an entry instead of handing it to them. Since you can only target a player that is in the room with you, that would make it difficult.

I was trying to think of any way to include someone in the drawing who was not in the same spot as you were, and getting someone's name in who could not afford it is a good idea, too!

You can POINT the Ticker at whoever you want. So if you're using it for a raffle that has 100k tickets - it's up to you to collect the 100k from the person you're going to POINT at. Which means you don't have to collect anything at all, or could collect 1 silver from them, or 500k from them.

They just have to be in the same room as you so you can POINT the Ticker at them and get them a ticket.

I'm trying to understand just what you're attempting to do in the first place.. (I think the rest of us are at that point)
Let me see if one of these has it right.

Option A
JoeSchmoe stands in front of you to get a ticket for the raffle/drawing for ReallyCoolThing that will be held tonight, and the Little Ticker records his name and issues a ticket.
When you hold the raffle tonight, does JoeSchmoe need to be standing in front of you? - No
How do you get the item to him? - In-game mail will work, assuming you can send ReallyCoolThing that way. (If not, you can stipulate that people must get the item within a certain time, if not immediately, or you'll figure out something else to do with the item.)

Option B
You want to encourage people to complete the Buyer's Guide by entering them in a drawing for NeatoGizmo. But you don't want to have to track down everyone all across Elanthia to POINT the Little Ticker at them after they complete the form.
Answer: This, unfortuantely, isn't possible.
