#[Official] Duskruin 2024 Updates
1 messages · Page 3 of 1
Oh... I haven't forgotten.
I had nearly that high a run when I first started, though I did find a few bag parts
Double check what you have your duskruin set at.
We need a list of the non-redeemers, so they can redeem themselves!
they're all set to scrip... but that shouldn't impact golem, boh, and orbs though, right?
Correct.
If you wish to outsource this procedure may I offer my services?
heh
Anecdotally, I ran about 150 arena entries the day before yesterday. About 75 of them were in a group of 3 where everyone collected standard loot, and about 75 were in a group of 4 where 3 people collected standard loot and 1 person had extra BS. During the 75 runs with the 4th person, we found no ore/golem parts. During the 75 runs with just the regular 3, we found 4 clockwork automatons and 4 regular automatons. RNG is gonna RNG, but that was very suspicious to me.
One thing Naiken hasn't shared is there have been 1,489 gifts redeemed, which is 29 more than last time. Those people are also all eligible for an event offering, so the numbers to hit this exist.
hey! I worked hard on that, slow burn to gain the trust, waiting for the perfect moment to strike from the shadows, and finally the payoff of "what is this and why does Rick Astley have anything to do with my issue?". 🤌 I deserve that lightning bolt from Thandiwe. You'll get your turn.
the carrot dangle.🥕
I was talking to a couple OLD timers last night and they said they wouldn't sell their event claims because they don't have the silver/don't trust people to pay/don't like duskruin in general so while I hope we get there I dunno
Oof. Those first two categories just need to ask people to front the silver and they totally will. :/
Old people...yuck
I know, I let them know that most everybody buying would gladly front them the silver, hoping I can turn at least a few of them around
Like... you literally get a free 1m-1.5m, and a blue orb, why would you turn that down
Because back in my day.. something something something, uphill, both ways, and twice on Wednesdays.
“… and we liked it that way!”
I mean it's not like we need "new" people to sell us their event boxes...we just need the same people who did it in February...and hopefully we can convince some new people to trust us!
No, we do need new people. The 1460 February figures came from gift boxes.
i might be a little TOOO trusting... but i think i fronted the silvers for claim boxes on a lot of the folks that allowed me to buy from them.... send your old friends my way, hehe
I didn't trust anyone in game really 25 years ago aside from friends. I basically trust everyone now.
had to look it up again but now I see what I missed - you are so right! Ok well I will continue my PR campaign to encourage people to take my silvers!
I’ve never, ever had a single problem merchanting stuff in this game. This is over hundreds and hundreds of deals from super low end to fairly high end. People are pretty honest and there’s enough oversight with the GM structure and such that it would probably not be possible to rip someone off
Leafi throws me the silvers while I fumble around failing to verb stuff right for like 5 min sometimes
I gave everyone I bought from the silver first. If someone wants to burn their rep on 10m silvers. Then that’s fine with me I guess.
Except for that one guy. But we don’t talk about him no more. :p.
I'm telling you, the last 100 are those people whose names you hardly ever see that hunt with their friends and hang out at tables with their buds and have a grand old time with Gemstone old-school style and don't care or even sometimes know what a Duskruin even is, but still worth finding them if you're able and telling them you wanna buy their weird box and give them extra money and an orb
So basically we need to hit up every inn and yell outside the tables.
Right?
I've had like one or two questionable transactions in GS in like 20 years of playing, and those was so low stakes I wasn't even really worried about it.
In the era of rampant player services there has to be some level of trust, because unless we start using 3rd party's and bonds or something, not a lot can be done to protect things.
This is where I'm at also. I just hand stuff over first now regardless. I used to be so so careful...probably the last one to use the exchange command. Ha ha. We should probably be a bit more careful though!?
I mean, to be fair, the truly concerned could attune their gear to make sure it's useless to hypothetical Enchant/Ensorcell/Sanctify/WPS thieves. But, ya know, literally never seen such thieves. I assume it would be too easily thwarted because of oversight, as Idalias said.
Definitely feels like the wise thing for us to do... heh
This, I remember 25 years ago constantly using the exchange commands for trades, now it's just a straight give. even for things that are 10's of millions of silvers
I thought the same thing, but the issue is that those people probably need the silvers to be able to buy the claim in the first place.
I started a new account and bought 1 on it this time so we should be +1 😆. Good to go
I was fronted the silver for it also.
It was so strange when I first came back and did transactions.. and people just dropped the silver onto you. took a bit to get used to no one using exchange and everyone being so trusting. Games become so tame! 😆 (not that that's bad in this case)
Yeah I sold mine to someone on the amunet and told them I didn’t have the silver. They said no problem and dumped it on me while I stood there lol.
When is this claim deadline. End of event?
GIFT: (until 3/10/2024 20:28:06 eastern)
EVENT: (until 3/10/2024 20:28:15 eastern)
But I'd not wait until the last second. New system.
Wait until second to last second, got it
pardon my lack of knowledge here:
You take a closer look at a prop legendary note.
This is to deepen a belt worn or shoulder worn container to 250lbs. Some restrictions may apply.
Would a cloak be considered a shoulder worn container? and I am assuming a belt worn container is probably maxed out at 60 lbs because of where it is located right?
Then assist and report
I mean, I'm pretty sure it will take a belt worn to 250. You're paying 250M for a reason.
It will
You mean 62,500 😬 #plathax
do you have a chance of winning something cool at Shenanigans if you don't have a gazilon bloodscript?
Last year it was random spins effectively, pretty sure there was one that was 3 blood scrip that was the same prize I paid 10k to play for. (A simucoin prize pack)
A chance, sure. It's small though
If plat prices were prime prices I'd be a whole heck of a lot more excited for duskruin lol
Funny thing is I have more bloodscript than silvers. (I had left after a Wavedancer, probably the first one)
Hoard everything except coin. LOL
go for the spectacle of it all, watch me cry for a spell casting dahcre box, maybe win something. its a relatively fun time either way.
something will probably break
Have they announced when it will be?
8 Eastern I believe on Saturday
If you want to refresh the CLAIMS, I would be forced to do my civic duty and buy more to get us closer to that number.
I've somehow managed to get three four more event boxes today, all of them new since I watched the gifts appear. We're crawling...
I think it's more of a limp
277!
Shoulder worn is for like a single shoulder container, like a satchel. Cloak is draped from shoulders. I know, confusing.
But this is for the smaller satchels, pouches, etc. Not cloaks or weirdo backpacks.
category shoulder vs category cloak
is the backpack over or under the cloak
Oh, interesting, that makes it a lot more appealing. 😮
Not 250k appealing, at least not to me, but definitely a huge step up!
What are the average wait time for HESS cert to get work completed?
Depends completely on the work type. Some require extra QC/approvals
QC like Wyrom?
most can be done by a ServiceMaster right away as available. some services have a review process to ensure accuracy
ok thanks.. so anything more then 1 week is very possible
Just keep your character logged in as much as possible. Sit at a table overnight
Worse. Seen Loki where a robotic tribunal sits in judgment over your life’s work and tells you whether or not they are appeased and, if not; it’s an eternity of mundane office work? More like that.
loggegd in with the item on you. we won't complete a service if the item isn't on the character who redeemed it
oh yeah.. im logged in pretty much 24/7
So there is a GM view for the gladiator. And I'm excited that something I coded into him has finally happened!
An old has-been gladiator excitedly whispers, "Hey there, GameMaster Wyrom, I'm doing fine. Thanks for asking. I've currently had XX exchange(s). I'm currently exchanging for 7,500 of scrip type X. I'm giving out 5,000 experience for the exchange. I've been stolen from 1 time(s). Can you believe that? I murdered each of them though."
hahahah
Lmao

so many people gonna do it now. I'm tempted
Recommend no do it
He was not in fact lying tho xD
Can we trade theft sacrifices at the Gladiator for EVENT claims?
scarabs go to the box owner
then a dwarf-cut ruby!
I prefer to take my scarabs in the chest
😂
scarabs going to rogues is the rogue service
For the final 3 days, if we don't hit the CLAIM EVENT goal, I will periodically delete a random object in game. Nothing is safe.
Object node casualties:
- Existence [a bloodstained amber wand] deleted.
- Existence [a rich umber waxed leather doublet] deleted.
- Existence [a somnis long bow] deleted.
- Existence [a small snow lily bouquet] deleted.
Going to start low!
Casualty list above!
this is great because I hate objects in game
but... you are an object in the game
MY DOUBLET NUUUUU
you should pin the explanation as to why you are destroying items
This is a lot of planning for trolling.
But I need to commit to it.
^_^
tell you what, if you throw something mildly interesting into the shenanigens pool, I'll look the other way when you get around to destroying Tikba
Momma didnt raise no quitter
omg the somnis long bow
Omg hahah
That one was screaming at all the GMs, but not anymore.
Hide your ICE metals lads
Can't delete my stuff if I don't login, check and mate
This is all part of his master plan to take the vault boost scroll to back down 1.5x
Wyrom in theory deleting someone's ice age death relic because it's screaming at the GM team is gold lol
"You've yee'd your last haw. Thailors eye..." ⚡
We've actually released a few of those eyes in recent years.
They're just boring.
The legend is stronger than the actual item.
Such is the way of legends. They have a way of growing beyond their origins.
release the spell casting dahcre box!
Was the legendary blood rune ever found?
both, and promptly dropped, then put back in. I kinda hope they weren't so they go out for sure tomorrow in shennnagins.
don't forget there is 2
surprised they were promptly dropped? just someone who doesn't check runes turned it in to the archeologist or something?

#1208221633878298704 message
"found and left behind" so I don't even think they got their 100/500 bs from the archealogist for finding them... just dropped when found and no one else picked them up so maybe over night hours and janitor got them? or maybe its just the word choices v0v either way, they didn't make it out into the game world for anyone to enjoy.
People just drop stuff???
There are/were times where you could go into the sewers on a single entry and come out with a backpack full of other peoples dropped stuff. items, etched stones, sometimes even bag parts. because they were just grinding out that bs gain
yeah, that makes sense... if someone had a full lootsack, i could see it happening. All the more reason to just do extra scrip as the reward! 😬
Bottomline...people script the sewers. A huge % are almost certainly afk. Scripts are doing the work of inventory management. Its actually incredibly normal at this point for this ultra rare drop to be dropped/sold/welled or whatever else causes it to be effectively unclaimed
Some people don’t care to design a script to sell or manage inventory. So they just drop the things. So they can go go go.
I will say that the death of BS market margins/middlemen has greatly lowered (90%+) the amount of "perpetual" arena/sewer runners who also probably all scripted it. Before you allocated all your time to grind it 24/7 but now only the people who want the BS for a purpose are running them. When your allotted book hoard runs dry, no more runs for real for real.... unless you really want to convert your silvers or $$$..
If you provide folks with an incentive, they will react to the incentive. I assume anyone who doesn't want to deal with the invetory just has scrip rewards on.
I’m confused on the deleting part? What’s he deleting? Like stuff in the loot system?
But the poor snow lily bouquet 😆. I’ve got many many of those.
Have you checked they are all still there?
If someone wants to let me know when they are going to script and leave all the stuffs on the ground I’ll be glad to provide a janitorial service and follow them around cleaning it all up 😬
I never kept them lol. ||You get them periodically when you get a deed in icemule.||
did you check your deeds then !?
Ive totally filled up so much that I've had to drop a thing to escape. Mostly in old rules sewer where you were getting bonus extra stuff and would get a thing and then get another thing and be maxed out on space. I think now you're always able to get out now bc you can only end up with one thing. I guess it could still happen if you hit on loot thing + special thing on a run and were full up, but that's a far more rare possibility
But at least I could sit there and recall stuff and sort it out for least valuable thing, though it was also likely before at feet space, so that was me throwing stuff on the ground to get stuff out to check other stuff and see what was least useful, which before recall was just me guessing, but yeah, hard to end up without a free hand now, so I guess "yay less loot?" 😝
And when do these people who don’t care tend to run the sewers? Asking for a friend
its not as frequent anymore as pointed out, but usually all hours of the day.
when you see one you just follow them around scooping up the extras, but thats limited as well now too so v0v
254!
Getting close! @late lily said he'd make 100 new accounts, I think. So really we're only 154 away.
Ain't gonna hit it, but I remain impressed!
i've ran maybe 700 sewer runs and have yet to see a bloodrune; if I need to follow someone and pick up the scraps I'll do it.
aren't those done? I haven't gotten all those rocks this run, though am generally happy for it bc I'd just go hand them to the archeologist
no they're still there allegedly, generation is just suppressed because they share a chance with golem parts and maybe BoH parts. I forged my pendant this run, so trying to find some runes for it
huh, guess it's been all golem parts on this end
does any NPC take golem parts? I have a few that are likely less valued I wouldn't mind just dumping off somewhere. If not, look to your neighborhood benches eventually for a grand buffet of the golem parts no one wants!
No there’s no NPC for it
Then I will give them to the orphans to build war machines
Isn't there supposed to be a 'golem part swap' or something in April? I have like 30 stuffed in my bag
I imagine I will miss the time that it happens, so assume I'll just put some on Voln benches, etc. 😛 I'm not building one, so it's a very one way swap
I got a bloodrune as an arena prize, ive never checked it though, cause i never did the pendant. I will check it out tonight when i get home.
you got an etched stone in a winnings package? was that an older rare update or something that I missed? I thought they were sewers only.
Uhh, yeah, show us what you got. I don't know what that could be!
When i get home i will check, maybe im misremembering. I dont know, im old.
i could only imagine that if its legit its a legendary. if so i woul first congratulate you then get very mad it dropped outside of the sewers
Just do a constant world tour of various hunting grounds in the west. There's virtually always at least one of the 15-20 easiest areas where people leave boxes lying around free for the taking. When you find one, keep periodically dropping by since the player will keep doing it until they level beyond that ground--and, when that does happen, try to find their next ground.

Someone leaves wendigo hair all over HW forest. I'm gonna get rich...89 silvers at a time
it's just one wendigo who has been going through some stuff and is under a lot of stress lately
i have a sack full of common stones.... maybe i can etch some new markings into them to turn one into legendary? eh? eh?
edit: or maybe they'll blow up in my face
you could feed them into a dodedcahedron for some temp enhancives
Can follow my gnome around. He lives a life of poverty and has sworn off worldly goods, so he searches stuff, leaves everything behind, and also leaves the coins 😛 He has a huge healer tent tab but doesn't have anything in a locker or anything where debt would prevent him from anything, so whatever, ring me up!
You get 89 silvers for those? Damb I get like 33 lol. 202 trading and using 1205, and 1212 race swap for favorable sell bonus
lol no, I only get 26 😆
yeah it was a carved -ur-barath totem i got..... told you i was old sorry to get everyone excited/mad... and as a side note i have no idea what to do with it anyways
Oh hey, same. I was just making sure something wasn't so broke it was sending out rewards into another dimension
rub it to make rat tails appear. otherwise yeah its basically just part of making a bloodrune
So I don't get to push for giftboxes anymore but I feel like Wyrom I must say with how hard this community has worked to fullfil hitting that mark for the event box claims that It would be wonderful if you surprised as all and still created the gift you were talking about doing if we hit the magic number of claimed events claims!!! Make Duskruin the best duskruin ever. (Sorry I had to try.. For the community you knoiw!)
Pretty good show of it
was it ever answered on whether you could switch one hybrid weapon to another? Like a katana to a bastard sword?
no to hybrid weapons
the answer was no, but we hate that answer
right boys?!
hybrid weapons again get the shaft
let my hybrids BE FREEEEE
I hate we arent going to get there but good job team on the effort
The last 250 are going to show up at Shenanigans i'm telling ya
So, we need 229 more event boxes to hit the goal?
226 now
Need names, are these like newbie accounts or tenured veterans are who spurning DR in protest lol? (Wish that was an easy pull)
https://tenor.com/view/smelling-dog-cute-gif-14870079
(Get the scent...)
i don't think you want the lag spike of running the list of claims against all accounts
unless a crash and a time warp is all part of your plan to get the remaining 226!
Gonna need a big ol' sign outside the Shenanigans room that people have to read before they can get the orb, then have to read again before they can enter the room.
We also need a big ol' sign inside the Shenanigans room that people have to read before they can get get the orb (if option 2), then have to read again before they can enter for a prize (each time they enter for a prize), then have to read again before they can leave the room.
According to Doctor Strange there was only 1 universe in over 10,000,000,000 timelines that redeemed all 1,460 boxes....
i'm sure at least one of you will script an automated room announcement that you'll pay for people to claim their box
it'll be like walking into a Whole Foods
It's gonna look like that scene in Airplane by the time we're done.
i would totally figure out how to introduce a catalyst to make that happen
I would you even script that since the room inside is "alot of people", you would have to hit them fast before they entered and hope they read it
put down a prop that looks like silver coins, but when you grab it, you're holding a pamphlet about CLAIM
Giant text screamers on repeat un-snubbale until acknowledged
;foreach in room; whisper to person <text> 🧨
and then the hunger game begins
Have you heard about our lord and savior claim event? You can make 1m silver and get a blue orb!
and Wyrom can take pity and drop little aids to those still alive
is Shenanigans pivoting to Hunger Games? please say yes
To be honest if Wyrom unironically closed the room door and just said last person alive gets 1M BS and half the ppl dont have gear it would be one for the ages if it was truly spontaneous
approved
Lemme just duck into my shell armor here until mostly everyone is dead
some of you probably scoff at 1m bloodscrip
Can you imagine the sheer number of emails feedback would have to field from the anti-fun brigade though?
I feel like the game would crash from all the stuff happening
we can issue waivers. nothing screams fun like having to sign a waiver
Just sneak it into the TOS nobody reads those
nobody reads anything these days!
I'm reading right now... Mistborn. Also, what's up with the emoji whaleism my dudes? My whales not good enough for you?
i mean in-game
I mean surely they have to read SOMETHING
apparently not
you'd be shocked!
how much time we spend on things that could be avoided if something was read in its entirety
Warnings, disclaimers, notes from GMs to players and especially everything in monster bold is ignored, true
Did you just type something? 😆
Lol
its wild how little you have to actually read in this completely text game
Ok it’s the weekend, time to pump those numbers up!
No, but I'm sure our lord and savior Skippy Hasyourmoney would get us over the hump.
What does attunement for unlock discounts do, exactly? does it mean the unlocks will only be active for my character and not others, if transferred?
Also, why, oh why, is that final cursed armor unlock so much?!
Attuning unlocks will attune the item when applied. So it's just a matter of continuing savings assuming you attuned the item you're unlocking in the first place
ah, okay. that makes sense. thank yah. i'll never understand the cost though heh.
Yeah I attuned one item from ground up and saved a bundle. Then I had the clever idea to move that character to their own account…which is when I found out that attainment is to account not character. So I had to move him back. The one thing I really wish is that there was a character attunement rather than an account attune but that’s just me.
I'd agree there.
Can you tell me why the giant price jump is what it is? I don't see the value, but maybe I just dont understand what it gets you
oh, i mean the jump in unlocks. 70 to 100 to 500. seems a bit much
I think Rain is asking why the Final Tier of Cursed armor has the price jump.... I guess thats what they view the price of a 4x AS/CS boost is worth on armor?
Agree with Rain that the cursed final tier seems grossly overpriced at 500k though
its 500k isnt it?
I need more coffee…correct
It does benefit all other Tiers too..So when it flares, it becomes +20 DS, +12 TD, and +20 AS/ +12 CS
That being said, in no way am I justifying it... that's a pretty crazy price.
Marry the armor and save 125k BS at that tier alone (there is a psychological trap in this kind of valuation)….
I'd be losing money if i DIDNT buy it!
I really like it and want to make it my next set (even though I still wont join a society. stupid roleplaying decisions). I just cant bring myself to drop that much of lump all at once, especially when i see how much other unlocks cost. maybe one day it will hit the bargain rack. 🤞
while I have you very helpful folks engaged, I want to buy and unlock one of the survivalist kits. Is there a consensus on at what point unlocks get unnecessary? or should I just do them all?
I feel like asking on discord the consensus will be unlock them all. Someday I might buy one of those.
thats my inclination. mostly so i dont have to think about it. but im sure theres a point where its just silly to have that many herbs
Attune a fully unlocked survivalist kit and it’ll serve you well at a not insane price (compared to cursed armor)
I dont think I knew that was an option. neat.
My method has been, if it's going on a character that trains FA/Survival, then I go for full unlocks (except amount, I haven't gone beyond the base 50 for any). If the character doesn't and is unlikely to train FA/Survival until maybe way post-cap then I don't bother with liquid conversion and potency boost.
thats really helpful. exactly the insight I was looking for, thank you.
Most of my guys have survival but only a couple do rescues enough to merit the liquid conversion so maybe for my cleric. But the potency can help a well trained melee stay on their feet forever
Rain is my only char, way post cap. definitely in need of self-healing efficiency
Definitely a great purchase in your case it sounds like
Plus it has a maximum weight I think too so encumbrance doesn’t become an issue? Someone correct me if I’m wrong on that
I carry liquid herbs from pinefar on my clerics to pour in dead bodies when needed...but, well, I never use them. There are very few scenarios where you actually need to heal the dead person first if you have the max rez that returns them with 50% health. And why steal work from the empaths unnecessarily?
related to my early questions - is this a cursed armor ambient?
You notice a shadowy figure in your periphery, but you scan the area and see nothing.
what're the odds there can be a gnomish inventory at August DR that takes Golem parts for BS? Asking for a friend....
this is hilarious considering its a text based game...go figure
stupid question. but forgive me, i've never bought anything from the HESS. are some certs instant redeem and some not, or do they all have to be submitted?
Every HESS cert is done by a GM in the background - I don’t think any of them are instant. That said, some of them are pretty fast as they don’t require approval. Others may take a day or two for the review process. It’s best to just be as available as possible, though we’ll make every effort to get things done quickly.
Thank you
Available doesn’t necessarily mean at the keyboard either. The important piece is to have your character logged in with the item to be worked on.
unless there's something we need to ask or tell you about, but most of the time we can handle them without your involvement
but the item must be on the redeeming character and logged in
199!
188!
close! but I still think we'll end like 50 short at best
No one knows how big of a boost we will get over the weekend, especially with shenanigans. Keep pushing!!
Is there a shennanigans announcement somewhere?
spam it haha
So did the rumor I hear hold any truth? That outside of shenanigans we will be able to search the grass again for a violet orb...but also inside the event tonight we will be able to pay 5k scrip for a second rpa orb? Any truth to that or anyone know how that will work?
no one knows, tahts the true shenanigans

Rumor has it, if you rub Wyrom, you'll get a rare Vermilion Orb
Psoriasis in-game is saying he has 5 boxes available @fossil lake
Id that tonight
Particles of dust and soot rise from the floor at your feet as you realize a pulsating vermilion orb is racing toward you!
... 25 points of damage!
Skin roasted away from back exposing your spinal column!
... 10 points of damage!
Burst of flames to head catches ears on fire! Yeeoww!
Roundtime 3 Seconds.```
That's the orb working
you gotta try harder
#event-announcements message
What time will the doors open? I gotta take my kids somewhere starting at exactly 8pm est, but given ~10 min before that I'll swing in for orbs
I'll try to open arounbd 7:45pm ET.
Magical orb (formerly grass) is outside HESS.
I might move the wheelbarrow to the east
Sweet! Thanks!

looking for clarification before i make my first HESS purchases, just to be safe.
transmute to ghezyte will give my weapon the indimidation flares and it will maintain it's current enchant, correct?
Yes
correct
thanks.
and making cursed armor adamantine would just change the material, not mess with any of the scripting or enhcant?
it will reset the weight of the armor, just as an FYI
that part I knew.
excellent. thanks for the feedback.
heh. I probably messed up despite all my prep. now that i've already redeemed, im thinking that changing the material on cursed armor probably cant be done. because black ora. derp.
should be fine - I did a cursed armor script add to my mithril armor
I've seen cursed armor that's a special metal. it's normally adorned with black ora, but I'd be surprised if that's a requirement.
there was a black alloy one at the auctions last year
Black ora really has nothing to do with Cursed Armor. It was just an adornment for the shop wares
Spore bows could take a lesson from cursed armor!
Sounded like we made a dent in the claim box goal tonight.
Looks like my 3 resist stub additions got blocked by a set of fittings I had on. I was on the go when I redeemed them and didn't remember the armor remove option. Any chance somebody can slap them back on? I did an assist as well though I may not be in front of my PC alot.
Boost EXP doesn't work with the 2x exp running.... but it'll still work normally while that's active, right?
you seem to acknowledge that it doesn't work, but then ask if it works - ?
someone needs to test it again, for science
Yes the 2x exp from the vault keeps working while the useless timer from boost exp counts down. I think that's what you're asking?
How close are we on the event claim boxes?
i'm acknowledging that it doesn't work with the 2x Golden Scroll.... but i'm asking if it still doubles your base experience gain. (just doesn't Quadruple with the 2x scroll).
From what i understand, boost exp never "works" with lumnis/orbs/scroll, but just does it behind the scenes on your base exp. I'm asking if that still goes through if they're all up
BOOST EXP/Gamewide bonus xp/Enlightenment all use the same multiplier "slot." Lumnis is separate, and RPAs are separate. But they're additive, so 2x+3x+4x means you get 7x base total.
Even if you're right it would be 1+2+1+1 not 1+1+2+1
I have no idea what that means. 😂
Base + BOOST EXP (2x) + Lumnis + Lumnis (3x) + RPA + RPA + RPA (4x) = 7*base
Sorry, hilarious line from the movie clue
Got it. Lack of context threw me.

Never going to make it. Good try team
yeah, it was a good push, nice hustle everyone
Commendable effort folks.
We definitely deserve a prize for the effort. ::grins::
agree
just make it 10% less prize
A lukewarm beer instead of a cold beer
Barrel Aged Stout for the win!
A slice of Hawaiian pizza instead of pepperoni.
Is that a "prize" or a "punishment"
pineapple, anchovies, and jalapenos....3 things that are all unfairly discriminated against in the pizza world.
Bacon, feta, and pineapple is an awesome combo
A bowl of plain vanilla ice cream instead of a sundae
A perfect white alloy weapon instead of eonake. (Thanks paladins)
If it’s anything like my old employer… it’s the yearly bonus.
So we'll get a pizza party (1 slice only) and 1 red cup of sprite (no refills)?
Moneys too tight for Sprite. Store brand lemon lime soda
None of which belong on pizza
You are a pizza bigot!
Just don't ever throw me a party.
Where do you get the flourishes?
Certifiable

Gemstone is just a giant casino RNG machine
Can we get the final claim numbers whenever someone recovers from the hangover? Thanks! Happy you-lost-one-hour-of-your-weekend Monday!

Close!
Near the end I was helping some legit new players redeem their boxes and it wasn't pretty.... I am talking 5-10 minutes per person walking them through specific instructions step by step and troubleshooting errors. I think the idea that people would front the 7m in silvers by just handing it them just never crossed alot of their minds. Trust is weird in GS, so freely given.
along with 955 from the first one that's just about 16b silvers drained - not too shabby in a world where there's "nothing to spend silvers on" /s
It's also pretty impressive that the 2nd event box did 38% more than the first one
Hey new player, here is 1000x the biggest amount of silvers you have ever seen, help me get these booklets...
doin the liabo's work
can we be told what we would have gotten had we made the goal?
4x acid flaring claids rained down from the sky!
a corasine chip cookie with extra murder
Xaz katars for all!
9,247,000,000 silvers removed and 1.3 billion redistributed isn't horrible.
I'm actually most impressed with the gift box redeems. I know there are a lot of alts in there, but I would have guessed there are like 1500 accounts playing, but there must at least be like 10%-15% more than 1645 I'd imagine
yeah the redestribution is a pretty cool side effect - a lot of rich people spreading their silvers to other players
The redistribution of silver via the claim was a very nice thing. Its not something that can be relied upon since its based on secondary market pricing, but it definitely represented a way for people who struggle to earn silver to make a month's worth very swiftly.
was it the same price gamewide?
no. cheaper in Plat and super expensive in Shattered 😄
So 1,164 event claims drained a ton of silvers but next month those same accounts all reach soft loot cap and bring in 17B+... and then again the next month... and again
I'd imagine the plat buy in was chea...yeah
1164 accounts are not hitting the soft cap my friend lol
You are right, some are hitting hard cap!
yeah, nowhere close
from Wyrom at the end of December last year:
As for loot cap, it's still not impacting the majority. Even on a high hunting month like December. We're still only see less than 1% hard capped and less than 5% have approached a soft cap. These numbers count no account with 0 earnings, so they aren't skewed by mule accounts or alts that just participate in non-hunting activities.
I believe he said that the usual monthly silvers generation is like 5b?
I'd believe it
for some context on yearly silvers drains I'll copy/paste the post I made a few weeks ago with some stats...although missing a lot of data...it gives an idea of how hard Wyrom is pushing to drain silvers:
DR 1 Boxes: 2.5m each, 5 offered with 10 entries each...2670 boxes sold = 6.68b drained
RoL Boxes: 2.5m for 10 entries, 4 offerings - total drained unknown
RW Boxes: 3m for 12 entries, 3 offerings - total drained unknown
Old Items: 3m each (lantern charm, spider charm) - 812 boxes sold = 2.44b drained
DR 2 Boxes: 3m for 13 entries, 3 offerings...2818 boxes sold = 8.45b drained
Indigo Orb Box: 7.5m each - total drained unknown
EG Boxes: 3m each, 13 entries, 3 offerings - total drained unknown
Total known silvers drain: 17.57b drained from just 3 out of 7 of the above
It's pretty insane how much work they did - clearly at least 20b in silvers and probably closer to 30b? I'm glad to see that they're being replaced with a better system with CLAIM and am curious to see how it works out for DR...getting 2 boxes of 25 count entries is quite surprising since I thought these were being scaled back immensely and that's even more than was offered in August's DR (39 entries).
Speaking of silvers drain they also drained 13.45b at the two auctions and 10b at the December smithy...who knows what else from pile pulls, etc. so that should be well over 50b silvers drained. And yes I am partially curious about this because of the people still saying "there's nothing to spend silvers on".```
I think Wyrom mentioned sometime last July or August that active accounts only had ~30B total silvers, I wonder if that is up or down right now. It should be down if all these event box things are outpacing monthly spigot but you definitely still see lots of people selling big chunks of silver.
Instead of log in bonus for doing nothing, set up those bonuses monthly for contributing silvers to the orphans fund or voln fund. Have contests with prizes for the charity with most. Let players help how such funds can be used in game to revitalize the in game look.
Wyrom does a great job draining silvers, but there's soooo much silver generation
The silver drain has been excellent. In my opinion, the only people who are shouting that there aren't enough drains are the people who are really saying "I can't sell my silvers for as many dollars as I used to be able to, so you need to do more!" I believe those people should be ignored, because nobody cares about that metric other than silver sellers.
Wyrom is in an unenviable spot. If you stop offering event boxes, I believe there would be a shortage of silver drains, and I think things would get bad for the silvers-based economy unless more drains are introduced. If you offer event boxes in perpetuity without limiting the silver influx (read: lowering the loot cap), you cut into company profits which could jeopardize the future of the game, which could make things get really bad. The silver bullet, in addition to probably lowering the loot cap, is creating a drain (or several drains) that people want to pay into, and doesn't require a lot of GM effort. That's tough to do.
Until the tap turns off I imagine it's like trying to stop a boat from sinking by bailing water with a shot glass
Lowering the loot cap at this point doesn't seem feasible...but I would kind of expect a huge push to get things like gemstones and the enhancive reroller out to start augmenting natural silvers drain within the game. I agree that eventually we need to be less reliant on CLAIM boxes to drain silvers.
Why do you think lowering the loot cap doesn't seem to be feasible? Because people will complain too much?

unless silvers totally invert next DR, Wyrom pretty much "sets" the floor price at this point.... indirectly with event boxes. It's come full circle guys..
the perception of the loot cap is already hugely negative but it's doing its job so it's here to stay...but to make it even more restrictive? I can't see Wyrom taking that bullet.
Hr already said he thinks a lower loot cap is a good idea.
I would support it if it also came with reducing all gem and skin values by 90% so you don't look cap in 2 days.
Do to silvers what was done to fame, drop a 0.
taxing sugary beverages is a good idea but you don't see it happening (yet) lol
Lowering the loot cap will definitely put some heat on him, for sure. Some people will be upset. The challenging part is, in my opinion, twofold: first, you have to lower it in such a way that the overwhelming majority of people who never interact with the loot cap still don't (or barely do) and are confident that you're telling them the truth when you remind them of this fact; this would probably require them to track their progress against the loot cap to recognize that they're not being impacted.
Second, you would have to set it in a way that the people who are going to be most negatively impacted either don't up and quit, or to make sure that the people who do up and quit aren't causing a substantial hit to the bottom line.
considering how few people are actually affected by the loot cap, I think to make a significant difference you have to make it effect more people, in addition to further reducing the gains of the top 5%
Wyrom should just switch silvers to gold and burn the rest!
I don't think there's any way to make a claim like that, Tsalin, without knowing how much of the total silver income is contributed by those two groups.
10m cap, with a 90% reduction in selling values.
When the average is 2m, and some people are making 35m per character account. The spread is too wide.
Constrict the difference in gains and you start to plug the hole.
Quick nudge: this seems like a better fit for #mechanics
Seems a better fit for # economy
I thought the 35m cap was per account
Currently
10m cap was what he was proposing
I know, but he said 35m per character, which I was confused about.
But only if selling prices are reduced by 90%
that wouldnt make sense, 35 to 10 isnt 90% shouldnt they be the same percentage?
Part of the goal would be to make it more difficult to hit the cap as well.
First line was his proposal.
The second statement was his issue with the current system.
I think everyone is discussing this here:

in the event you wanted to add those thoughts there.
It should be the opposite, 10x the prices and loot for 1-2 years so everyone can play catchup
This is all a rehash of some previous conversation. I wonder if that was the original
The main point being, the "average" person makes 2m a month. But some people are making 35m a month, per account. That's a pretty wide gap. Reduce that by 90% and the numbers become easier to manage.
200k vs 3.5m (as an example). Which means the people hitting current loot cap would need to work 3x as hard to hit the new cap.
You could also institute some kind of "lumnis loot boost" for those who make less than X amount for the current month.
I've always been a fan of the lumnis loot boost concept. Also - make the loot impact cap a weekly dynamic instead of monthly to align with it. That would spur players to pop in once a week, crush out their Lumnis and capitalize on their loot gains. Reward players for playing weekly. To me, theoretically, it feels like that would do a ton to close the gap.
we should make the Jester attackable at next DR...just sayin
The triple XP part of lumnis would provide a greater loot boost, the double XP part of lumnis would provide a minor loot boost.
