I am making the new message boards available to CHEs and MHOs. These boards allow people, for a silver cost, to post a message to them. These are identical in function to the new town message boards popping up, so you cannot limit who can post on there to members, for example, nor can officers remove things.

For CHEs, I have added purchasing the new-style message boards to your Influence Guide (https://gswiki.play.net/CHE_Officer_Guide/Influence_Guide), where they can be ordered via normal quarterly report submissions.

For MHOs, I will be placing one in each of the town MHO Halls. I do not have an ETA on this, but I'll be working on it as I can.

For MHOs with an existing structure, you have a one-time opportunity to get one!

An officer of the MHO should mail the MHO GM ([email protected]) by February 1, 2024.
In the email include the room name (and # if you have it), where you want the board placed, silver cost to charge (default 500), and the base/long of the board.
Follow the Email Best Practices found at the bottom of the main MHO page on the wiki (https://gswiki.play.net/Meeting_Hall_Organization)

I would just like to stress that first bit -- these are not specifically coded for CHEs/MHOs, so you cannot limit who posts something to it. As an officer, you aren't going to be able to have any special control over it either. I know these are all questions that may come up, so I wanted to be clear.

Messages "expire" after 1 week and go away. The poster can remove their own messages.

If you want to not charge silvers to post to it, you can, or you can just drop it to like 1 silver.

A question I don't see answered: Can a CHE request a message board for a room in their main building, and then a second (and third and fourth, etc.) for an annex?

Yep, I didn't limit them in the influence doc...you could theoretically pepper your building and annexes with message boards

Since so much is grandfathered for MHOs, I wasn't going to charge them. It's 2 IPs for CHEs.

My only concern here is what happens when trolls decide to vandalize one, if officers cannot clean things up.

I would love to put one up and think it's a fantastic idea for IC communication between MHOs and CHEs, and of course for anyone who has an interest in joining or wants to inquire about participation in events -- but it's tough to have zero control over the messages that go on it.

True -- I was wondering about moving it, though, not removing it, necessarily. E.g., if we put it out and find it gets clogged up with mud, we might ask to move it somewhere that has members-only access.

I don't want to pester you to move it about, but I'd like to know if that's something we can do if we don't want it removed entirely, if need be.

I'm typically fairly flexible for things like that, so yes.

If someone were abusing it and doing it a lot, etc., we would handle that differently. If loads of people were changing their mind all the time, I'd look at a global rule, etc.

Love the idea and the accessibility to all MHOs. I hope it'll be a good tool for IC communication for people who want to join, story-related events, and so forth.

Do these have a wiki yet? I recall the messages fall off in 7 days but they don't have an analyze so remembering the verb to remove your message was a bit of discord diving (it's pull board)
