316, 335, 609, 619, 410, 709, 912, 1117, 1120, 1219 so far. Let me know what I've missed.
"Spicy lately" lol.. yup
Technically: 635 if you can ward them.
I mainly get worried when I see 3 strandweavers spawn at the same time.
I can't always 611 / 410 all of them in time to avoid the web.
as far as i know every aoe spell pulls, i'm struggling to think of any that don't. they just don't if they know, fail
and some are really ineffective if they don't actually disable / give rt cause then the thing can just rehide immediately (like 1203, i assume 217)
Also here: Anarquendi, a webbed Fausto, the body of Rondo who is lying down```
Wizard immediately killed after walking into this room. 😄
10 stalkers in a single room.
yeah that room sucked
This is a lot more than usual, right? This place has been wild lately.
A 10 man group who used to live in Nelemar has been hunting there now, iirc. Rip.
I just walked into a room with 14 myrmidons in it.
Did you incant 635
No.
Seems like the thing to do
it's an 11 person crew + the triple whammy weekly/monthly gem and lootcap resets. busy day
You wanna see something absurd?
in general i think the spawns with the changes are much more managable for others w/ the changes but i am wondering if stalkers kinda break the paradigm and/or if that person is just spawning a ton and leaving them
14 myrmidons shouldn't be happening even if stalkers are wacky
Good fame farming at least
I encounterd another room with a broodtender and a bunch of myrmidons, then another room with 5+ myrmidons.
I actually didn't see anyone down on the third level with me, so they were just all chilling there at the southern part of the map.
I'd move there to fame farm but I don't want to wreck my loot cap by wasting it on skins so it'll have to wait until next week when I'm hard capped
I need to get more multi-ops with my wizard so I can splash more than 10 targets...
Deleted my comment.
But its a lot lately. And frustrating. I don't recall it being anything like this at any other point. Granted I've only been here for a year or less.
Recommend bringing back rocks to get the riff-raff out. lol
It's because of gemstones. Gemstones has turned people who would otherwise be OTF/Nelemar lifers into Ascension hunters, and a lot of those people run huge MA squads. Can't put that genie back in the bottle, unfortunately.
||Got it. Suck it up because gemstones. Understood. Push people into ascension areas because gemstones. Further push them into MA groups with loot changes. Its a feature not a bug. ||(Redacted. I don't actually mean these things. I'm just in a foul mood)
I'm getting grumpy. Gonna go touch grass before I start saying things I don't mean.
I don't know where suck it up came from in my post, I think something is off with the Hive spawns and can hopefully be looked at
i'm going to have to stop doing my part against the bugs until these swarms die down
Apologies. I'm looking for a fight where there isn't one.
I would post in the creature spawn thread.

Just did my first Hive hunt in a few weeks - no issue with spawns/swarminess. Not sure if it was addressed between the first and now but just adding another voice.
Yeah it seems to have calmed down a bit
Kresh Warrens, Breached Hollow - 34171] (u13041101)
Broad and vaguely ovoid, an unnatural hollow opens within the mottled stone to form a chamber with furrowed walls. Tunnel mouths gape at irregularly spaced intervals, their recesses cast in shadow by the pulsing emanations of an amber-hued barrier stretched taut across a ragged crevice in the chamber's wall. You also see a sleek black kiramon stalker (prone), a sleek black kiramon stalker (prone), a sleek black kiramon stalker, a sleek black kiramon stalker, a sleek black kiramon stalker, a sleek black kiramon stalker (stunned), a sleek black kiramon stalker (stunned), a sleek black kiramon stalker, a corpulent kresh ravager, a ridge cougar, a spectral kiramon stalker (prone), a sleek black kiramon stalker, a sleek black kiramon stalker (stunned), a corpulent kresh ravager and a gigantic sticky web.

11 stalkers has to be some kind of record, right?
All started with this:
A corpulent kresh ravager rears back, emitting an awful keening cry that resounds shrilly through the area!
[SSR result: 266 (Open d100: 240)]
The ravager's screech startles you!
... 28 points of damage!
Your stomach muscles explode violently.
You are stunned for 5 rounds!
Roundtime: 15 sec.
Gotta love those double open rolls!
There's gotta be a way yo suss these guys out, right?
The ravagers? From my understanding: they can spawn like that. There is a Gemstone that helps mitigate that ability.
No. That’s not their spawn maneuver thing. I have the arrythmic gate gem already.
It was more the 11 stalker swarm that showed up that was the issue. I can usually like through up to about 4, sometimes 5. My best is 8 I think. But that was a real close call.
They need to release earplugs.
ravagers are just the worst
I'm more likely to die on the first level of the Hive than the bottom because of ravagers specifically
I just can’t hit broodtenders. Maybe I need to strategize.
And it’s never the ravagers. It’s the stalkers after the ravagers.
You're a ranger, just 611 -> 616. We did it. Otherwise, UCS.
611 + 616, UCS, or Garrote work WONDERS.
I just really like garrote...
garrote. I'm always reminded that I should probably do something with my CMAN points...
It's risky, but fun. And you can be protected by 605.
I'm just sad it doesn't kill players.
You make a precise attempt to grapple a bloated kiramon broodtender!
Your attack is hindered by holding a gold-banded ruic long bow!
You have excellent positioning against a bloated kiramon broodtender.
UAF: 664 vs UDF: 625 = 1.062 * MM: 116 + d100: 65 = 188
A bloated kiramon broodtender's aura absorbs some of the damage!
... and hit for 54 points of damage!
The kiramon broodtender's head crushed between legs in a leaping takedown! Skull doesn't stand a chance!
[You have earned 100 prestige points.]
A bloated kiramon broodtender's legs kick savagely as she collapses, belching swarms of tiny, pale larvae. They scatter wildly as she surrenders to death.
A bloated kiramon broodtender appears to recover some strength.
A bloated kiramon broodtender's movements no longer appear hampered as the lunar light encircling her fades away.

They are pretty vulnerable to USC.
Okay, get to 4.5 mil ascension exp, finish 2x dodge and 2x CM, then do UCS, and then ....
ugh... that's a lot. Maybe I'll go start another alt.
You seem opposed to the clear solution that already exists, in 611 -> 616
Not opposed as much as resistant to change.
It would require an overhaul to how I have my hunting script written (I don't use bigshot), since its the first thing that uses a non-weapon as a finisher.
I guess I could just refactor the way I do the whole setups and prioritization for creatures, then add a finishers data map. I haven't been in a situation where I rely on something that isn't ranged or melee to finish off. Setups and creature prioritization are handled. This just changes things.
Rangers can use garrote can't they? 611/garrote...done
Honestly - my fresh capped rogue went and strangled a broodtender just to say he did it
(also I could barely hit anything with a weapon, so that was my main way of hunting for a few hundred k exp)
We can. that would require me using my CMAN points though. Once I use them they can't be spent on other things. Right now, with all my unspent ones I'm living in the infinite.
True...but...only need 2 of them! The rest can still live on in the infinite.
I have 1 rank on my rogue...works like a charm
do it from hiding - save yourself 3 seconds
Need is a relative term. I just like having everything maxed. 😄

Finally found a coruscant silver-gold sky diamond!
Once again, I would like to point out how useful cman Garrote can be vs. boss/Adventuerer's Guild task creatures:

CMAN eviscerate doesn't lock those in I'm guessing? I've only killed 1 (with garrote just to see if I could)
nothing shuts off the larvae, they are an "aura"
if the tender is like stunned/immob it does seem to greatly decrease their roll to hit tho
Man, I hate RNG sometimes.
Went to Moonbeam the ravager, a thrall walked in:```and a corpulent kresh ravager.

Then the ravager cried.
Right at the entrance to the Hive with my child bounty.
I really hate those open rolls.
Going to put this on the list of "things I hate more than loot cap:"
You swing your gheztye raiding axe at a chitinous kiramon myrmidon. The weapon rebounds off of the hardened chitin of the myrmidon's exoskeleton and is wrenched from your hand. It slides along the ground and disappears into the shadows!
[Use the RECOVER ITEM command while in the appropriate room to regain your item.]
A chitinous kiramon myrmidon moves with inhuman speed, interposing itself between you and the hive thrall!
You swing your dark rusalkoren handaxe at a chitinous kiramon myrmidon. The weapon rebounds off of the hardened chitin of the myrmidon's exoskeleton and is wrenched from your hand. It slides along the ground and disappears into the shadows!
[Use the RECOVER ITEM command while in the appropriate room to regain your item.]
That's right folks. 1 attack. Loss of two weapons.
I've had this happen before too. IMO it should be modified and limited to loss of 1 weapon at a time. 🙁
tell spirit to recover
laughs in major spiritual
They ever do SK spirit servants?
I think they did, but the wiki's down right now, so I can't check. It would have been whenever they first introduced unlimited quantities of SK tattoos at the HESS, since they started with an enormous selection that then dwindled for subsequent runs.
https://gswiki.play.net/High_End_Scrip_Shop/shop_list_February_2025
Spirit Servant was in the 400k bloodscrip tier.
would it actually work without any other major spiritual stuff?
For just picking up disarmed items, yeah, pretty sure.
seems like a lot compared to just running ;lutil recover though.
Apologies if anyone other than me and Peche got killed by the awful broodtender I created yesterday. If it makes you feel any better he killed me three times. Here's a sample of one attack:
I wish I had looked at it to see the combo of boon abilities. Definitely dispel and mstrike. I don't really know how this works.
Next time let me know and I'll come kill the big bad monster for you. =p
So brave
Woof. Third floor of the Hive is busy again tonight.
Just walked into this:
Obvious exits: north, northeast, northwest```
Southern-most room.
thats the best thing about there
I swear I'm getting disarmed WAAAY more often then I used to. Anyone else feel like its gone way up? I had to stop 3 consecutive hunts today due to this. Same yesterday. It seem lately I can't get a full head without getting disarmed at least once.
Its back to ranged for me for now, but that's insanely frustrating.
Probably just a cluster of bad luck
Of course I've been disarmed only once since then and have tracked over 700 kills. Bad luck. Ignore me.
Didn't I see an ethereal string for sale in the Annex? 😛
Me: “Wow, hunt area hard.”
GM: “that’s easy! Spend $2500! Make easy!”
I know you’re just messing with me. But it made me chuckle to think about it that way.
;lutil recover
Way cheaper
Now convert 1 million bloodscrip to silver with loot cap … and it will really be 🤯
Can you put in a word to make Mauls eligible? I won't even hurl it. I promise
Does acid resistance (ascension type if there's a difference) change the SMR roll? Or reduce the damage when hit from the ravager acid flares?
inc 635
All resistances reduce the damage
okay, so it seems I've done something else to boost my SMR defense lately.
Thanks!
Ah. Duh. Added a few ranks of AGI in ascension.
So, learning CMAN DISARM doesn't seem to help with the myrmidons disarming me. Anything other than making it a returner that would help? Is it just like a git gud kind of thing? (higher level, more generic training like in CMANs and stuff?)
I thought they used brace to disarm
Anything I can do against that?
Its just like that "hits the armor" thing that Hisskra do.
Oh! Brace is a spell. Catching up on my wiki reading now
would sthieve work on brace, I wonder? I'll add that to the disabler rotation for myrmidons
Mutants have it in HW too, to my knowledge there's nothing you can do I think its a modified version of it where it's innate not a cast spell. For example when you kill them you don't see it drop.
Thank you for your insight.
Aim for the soft spots and don't miss
i dont think its brace, I think its like Hisskra scales...
brace triggers of of upper limb hits/parries...the myrimidons it just triggers of of hits from what i've seen
Same thing with myklians right?
cant confirm, never hunted them
just curious .. Is there a flare that the kiramon in the hive don't like?
Lightning does well.
And I think this was probably a bit of a joke, but a returner would not help you here. Myrmidons can still disarm returners.
Word on the street is that's why thrown weapons users prefer bandoliers in the hive...sources say.
[SMR result: 171 (Open d100: 133, Penalty: 5)]
Acidic ooze erupts from a corpulent kresh ravager's flesh like pus out of a rupturing boil, dousing you with corrosive goop!
The protective web surrounding you deflects some of the natural damage!
... 19 points of damage!
Acid wash cleans the skin off part of the nose and cheek!
You are stunned for 4 rounds!
!S>
Yup... I know where this is going....
While stunned at least my reactive flares from my bow, animal companion, and rusalkysk brig almost took care of the onslaught while stunned. But 7 stalkers is still just a lot to handle.
You also see a sleek black kiramon stalker, a sleek black kiramon stalker (stunned), a sleek black kiramon stalker, a sleek black kiramon stalker, a sleek black kiramon stalker (stunned), a sleek black kiramon stalker, a sleek black kiramon stalker (stunned), a ridge cougar, a corpulent kresh ravager (dead) and a corpulent kresh ravager (immobile).
That last one that wasn't stunned got in the final hit:

[SMR result: 190 (Open d100: 86, Bonus: 48)]
A sleek black kiramon stalker grabs you by the head and twists violently. You hear a loud *CRACK* as your neck bones snap and your body goes limp!
So just started running Hive with my Rogue lots of fun for sure.
No issues killing everyone...
But
Biggest challenge seems to be the traps..
And insight on dealing..seeing.. disarming..avoiding them
Ecleanse does disarm them .but seems I fail often
No Disarming skill on him...but does have LMAS and 407
Also is maxed on perception
If you're going to hunt the Hive, you are going to want an Astral Spark gemstone to be able to just ignore the bolt traps.
Ya no gemstones available
I'm just stuck on Rogue with no disarm skill, but has 407.
He has spells....he never picked
I saw in past that Disarm Skill wasn't useful
Is that true? I can train in it to test it
I don't know. I have astral spark so I don't know about boltstones.
It just seems like a ranger not training in survival. lol. Its unique. cool
pretty sure disarm is useful for boltstones, but perc for the mandibles
Even at over 2x perception I’m still only 80% success rate on the mandibles. There’s always some failure rate there.
I'll pump up some disarm ranks...see if it helps
Rogues doing rogue things
So is there any tips to disarming the apparatuses in the Hive as a Ranger
Or..is it as simple as training in Disarm....that seemed to help my Rogue
probably easier to try and source an astral spark gemstone
but yes, training disarm will help
No gemstones..ok...I'll try the disarm rout
Graciasssss
Diarm works. So does 602. So does 119.
@dark marlin Any chance of some locks and keys dropping in the hive? never seen any!
That's the only place I hunt- I've found 2 locks and 3 keys down there so far.
I'm at zero!
It would be nice if the Hive could be normalized a bit better for solo hunters when there are huge MA groups present.
Create a section of cave so small groups cannot enter and once inside its too dark to "group up". (Disable groups)
Some discussion on the creature spawn thread.
Hive is fine. Don’t make it easier.
After a few weeks of giant MA group, what do you all think? I think adjustments probably don’t need to be made. It should be the second hardest area in the game.
I'm probably a bad barometer but I don't really mind the swarms.
Turn it up! Chasin that dopamine
I hated them at first. Starting to enjoy them.
Hard spot should be hard
After a few weeks of the MA group, I find it annoying to deal with, and my death rate goes up. Swarms can be fun, but happening every time they're also in there is not fun. Further the group casts spells in the same room I'm in and then I have to try to figure out what is going on on top of their extra noise.
This issue is not unique to the hive, it's an MA problem that the gamemastets have not figured out (or elected not to) how to solve, because MA groups provide more revenue to the company than solo players
Weeks? Months? Whatever...
As a Dwarf Rogue
What critters are not HEAD ambushable unless prone
ravagers for sure
not sure anything else is that big, probably not an issue if you have acrobats and light armor tbh

Unaimed jab from hiding seems to randomly get a very large amount of damage weighting.
I don't even have fully ensorcelled/sanctified gear yet. I can't afford an empath trinket. 😄
There is randomly a bug where ambush acts like waylay. it's been reported a lot.
Found a lone astral spark jewel. Vaguely remember someone looking for one a while ago...
sure wish ravengers and broodtenders spawned in the same area
I don't wish that, ravagers lowkey the most dangerous things in the Hive I'm fine with them being on the top level only lol
lol no
ravagers are the worst...they stay up top and rot
more wishing the ravengers spawned where the broodenters are located lol
I do just the skin value dropping in that area while the ravenger skins are skyrocketing
... so hunt ravagers?
I'm not trying to be obtuse here I genuinely don't see what the issue is
no issue just saying i wish ravengers spawned in the brrod area is all
k
i dont want anything that will randomly SMR me with acid even on other people's attacks while minding my own business on the 3rd floor
ive noticed certain attacks and mainly damaging flares pric the acid reacvive flair
hate removing my battle standard just to keep them from aciding me in the eye
Ravagers are why I wish they'd ditch Steam on ranger trinkets in favor of acid.
and I mean just common sense lol
Steam isn't an element either, so let's stop pretending logic matters, put acid on there
it is. I remove my standard and anything that flares and use a plain runestaff with mana flares when i hunt them
also...what even steams?
One enemy on Teras, iirc
there's steam dervish, the steam vents environmental effects on teras, the swamp hag area in river's rest, and steam elementals in the confluence.
In contrast, how many creatures use acid? 🥴
YOLO that stuff man.
Hunt fully geared!
Then get discouraged by the top floor because Ravagers, then leave… leaving the place to me in peace.
For the first time ever I just took an eviscerate (d100 = 130, end roll 170) and only got a rank 1 wound. Did something change?
Even on 101 end rolls I usually get a rank 2 wound.
would love to hear some news about the iridescent kiramon shardminds if they are still in the works?
The Hive is a little swarmy again tonight:You also see a sleek black kiramon stalker that appears rather calm, a sleek black kiramon stalker that appears rather calm, a sleek black kiramon stalker that appears rather calm, a sleek black kiramon stalker that appears rather calm, a chitinous kiramon myrmidon that appears rather calm, a chitinous kiramon myrmidon that appears rather calm, a sleek black kiramon stalker that appears rather calm, a sleek black kiramon stalker that appears rather calm, a chitinous kiramon myrmidon that appears rather calm, a sleek black kiramon stalker, a disfigured hive thrall that appears dead, the Anarquendi disk, the icy blue Aharil disk, a peak tiger, a chitinous kiramon myrmidon that appears rather calm, a translucent kiramon strandweaver that appears dead, a chitinous kiramon myrmidon that appears dead, a chitinous kiramon myrmidon that appears dead and a chitinous kiramon myrmidon that appears dead.

Hm.
I do miss hunting the Hive...but the enhancive lottery in HW is just too potentially valuable to miss...lets start putting some rings and necklaces on these bugs
The bugs will be here when you're ready to come back
I don't care about the enhancives thing, but ever since I got my runestaff purified faewooded, I feel like I'm playing myself not hunting undead lol. I came back to the Hive anyway just for a change of pace. Can confirm still plenty bugs
Since when do stalkers use cutthroat? Twice today and I swear I've never seen it before in a lot of Hive time.
Bug Fix March indeed! Bugs! Because kiramon. Haha!
First mention of it in my logs is April 6.
That's a day after I posted after only getting a rank 1 from an eviscerate, so some change must've gone live around then.
make the place even less forgiving to pures lol
Squarehive for life
319 doing an awful lot of work making it huntable for clerics
Stalkers have more than a approx. 59% chance ("Your size considerably hinders your defense!") of hitting me with cutthroat. Getting my throat cut makes me unable to cast any spells until healed. The only defense I have found is to hit every room upon entry with a mass spell that affects hidden critters.
Yeah it's not great for pures at all
I’ve been getting cutthroat way more than eviscerated. Maybe they added cutthroat as an alternative?
Personally, I prefer cutthroat to eviscerate, but I can see how bad that is for pures.
time to break out the aventails
mount combat might help - if you can stay on it!
Unless the rooms dismount you... Found one that did and got cutthroat in the very next room before I remounted.
Thin veins of pink granite break up the darker surrounding stone, stuttering across channels carved deep into the tunnel walls. A pulsing amber glow beckons from the west where the tunnel empties into a larger chamber. Broken crystal fragments litter the inclined floor, their milky facets dull in the humid darkness. You are riding a mechanized invar Dragonspine beetle.
Obvious exits: northeast, west
Tabubu and your cinereous vulture followed.

You dismount your invar Dragonspine beetle and leave it behind as you continue northeast.
[Kresh Warrens, Hewn Tunnel - 34205] (u13041103)
A natural column of smoky quartz juts partway into the tunnel where it bends. The dark granite around the rough crystal formation appears haphazardly scraped away. Shattered remnants of clouded crystal and jagged stone are mounded beneath it, trailing away along the tunnel in either direction.
Obvious exits: east, southwest```

The ground churns violently as flashes of chitin jut from its depths.

As you begin sifting through the churning earth, the creature within retreats deeper into the ground and the shifting silt goes still.

Your invar Dragonspine beetle follows closely behind you.
A shadowy figure springs upon you from behind and attempts to slit your throat!

But outside of that, it did dramatically decrease the amount of times I got clipped with it.
Care in the bottom floor again today:

It's a little swarmy again.
Love to see it.
Since the hive gem changes/fixes a few months ago, I've found a handful of coruscant silver-gold sky diamonds, but I've never had a bounty for them. Has anyone definitely had them as a bounty?
I have and already started my hoard of them
Strange, I've had hundreds of gem bounties in ZL in the last month or two and haven't had a single bounty for those. Okay! I shall keep squirreling them away just in case.

if you join sunfists you might be able to sigil of determination through a throat cut
You can't. Cutthroat applies Silenced, a debuff, which isn't overcome by Determination
that seems broken
Carrying a Survivalist’s Kit helps a lot in the Hive.
I still prefer Cutthroat to Eviscerate.
Yeah, I’ve been enjoying getting cutthroat instead of eviscerate the last couple of times I’ve been in there
Any idea why I would have been transported directly into the Hive from the center of Zul Logoth?
[Kresh Warrens, Hewn Tunnel]
Moisture clings to the rippled rock walls, beading and sluicing downward at intervals. At a sharp bend in the passage, the tunnel floor rucks upward at an angle. A craggy jumble of broken stone riddled with gem-bright inclusions clutters the low ground and makes for treacherous footing.
Obvious exits: southwest, west
A cascade of rainbowed light flares as Aharil appears.
A deep, uneasy thrum rolls through the space around you, punctuated by weary metallic groans and the fading hiss of spent steam.
I went to bed and left my characters sitting in the supernode and got transported into the Hive.
I'm assuming it has something to do with the Onsluaght? But that's not great.
Last night at the end of Onslaught, I believe I still saw you on board within the last 5 minutes of it being shipped. Could have been teleported from the ship
Huh, I could have sworn I left for the night. I could be wrong. That would make more sense.
Well that's an oversight on my part. I never left and fogged back to Zul Logoth.
Ah, I was killed by a captain and departed. I assumed I would land back in Zul Logoth and called it a night. I didn't realize I was back in the Refuse.
Is there any chance of the hive getting its own artificer? So far, the other ascension areas have one at least relatively close (I guess ME to HW is a bit of a hike, but not nearly as bad as the hive to HW). I didn't mind it when I only had to go once every few weeks to modify gemstones, but now with the weekly quests and codex turn-ins it's a bit annoying.
this 100% needs to happen
