Lumnis Schedule

I’d like to request that new characters have their Lumnis Schedule set for the day/time that they first obtain exp, and have it refresh at that day/time each week until such time as the new character activates a new Lumnis Schedule via Simustore or Gift of the Gods.

I just started playing a new character, and it’s difficult to make sure you’re online and playing at the earliest possible moment to refresh the unscheduled Lumnis, and so it ends up slowly getting pushed out. Tuesday this week, Wednesday next week, Thursday the following, etc.

Example: Suppose I start a new character on Tuesday 8/1 and activate my Lumnis. If I’m not playing on Tues 8/8, but instead can’t come on until Sunday 8/13, it would be nice to be able to quickly burn through that weeks Lumnis, and then get another refresh on Tuesday 8/15, just like experienced players can do that have previously activated a Gift of the Gods to hard code their start time

I don't disagree per se, but if you hit your first 30 day streak you can gift of the gods a schedule.

You don't even have to hit the 30 days - Gift of the Gods is on day 29 😁 (F2P only have access to Gift of Lorminstra, for deeds, however.)

I hadn't considered F2P, but, that said, they have so many hoops to jump through does another one matter much one way or the other?

That’s true, and had I been more diligent with my new character, I would already be there.

That being said, in the interested of recruiting new people, I don’t think we want to assume that everyone will instantly be playing 12 hours a day 🤣

You have to play exactly 1 second a day to get a login reward. Not sure what I said that implied people should play 12 hours a day.

I was exaggerating. My point was that I assume most people don’t login everyday, particularly new people that haven’t learned how to maximize Lumnis. And if we can facilitate Lumnis for new people to help level up a bit quicker, they might get addicted quicker

I think a better option is to provide all new characters with a single free lumnis schedule. Some players will want it to remain as is and some, like yourself, will want to set it.

People who haven't learned how to maximize lumnis, also likely don't care about the schedule, which is designed to maximize lumnis.

If you auto set it and they start on a Friday, it's worse because you can't move earlier in the week without skipping a week. An award at creation is the better option because there's no earlier penalty on first set

https://gswiki.play.net/Gift_of_Lumnis#Lumnis_Schedule. Basically, if you make your lumnis earlier in the week, you lose a week of it, so if you get defaulted to Saturday under the default plan, you can only ever schedule to lster Saturday or you will lose a week

So if you burn your Saturday Lumnis during the day, and then use a Lumnis schedule for Sunday morning, it wouldn’t start that next day?

That's my understanding. Some people have gotten burned by it

I like the idea, just take care of unintended consequences.

You can start your lumnis on saturday, and then set it to restart on sunday, any unused from saturdays start is lost.
