Oh! suggestion - lobster claws and bits of critters? The lobster invasion reminded me that they leave legs and claws.

Not sure if this was discussed last year, but the wood thats sold in Woodn't Yew, is that by design never going to work properly with Charmtraption because it inspect as wood or is there maybe something up wit hthe new lovely woods for sale:
On the blackwood racks you see a thick branch of acacia, a thin branch of araucaria, a skinny branch of bramblespine, a heavy branch of ghostwood, a narrow branch of iroko, a slim branch of koa, a broad branch of monkeypod, a rough branch of padauk, a knotted branch of smastan and a burled branch of ziricote.
No rush, going to buy some wood either way, but it would be awesome if the specific woods showed up in the charm itself. No worries if it can't and we discussed this last year.

I was not aware they were not working, but if a BUGITEM of one of the woods can go through I can take a look and see what may be the issue.

Here is an example of what it says in game with the ghostwood at least:
As you start to lower a heavy branch of ghostwood into a reinforced bronze-plated mechanism, you pause to think about the consequences. This will result in a charm that has the material of "zydris".

In my mind I had already fixed the glass issue and didn't even realize I hadn't rolled it live! So I'm glad the new branches were giving the Charmtraption fits so I had an excuse to look into it. Heh.

Those gadgets that convert, they will change most currently available charms into sound charms an unlimited number of times? And if you buy the slips to fully unlock it, will that make them have 10 slots, even if previously they were just basic?

The customization slots are on the device itself, meaning you can create up to 10 different sound designs if you full unlock it, but generally speaking, its a GALD service so you can overwrite them if you don't want to always have them.
The device uses charges to apply the sound to a basic charm, making it a sound charrm. I don't think you can overwrite an existing sound charm but I might try that to test.
You get one sound on a sound charm
