You must close your locker before leaving!```
Isn't it time we let lockers auto-close? I realize that there are a few ways the community has implemented to get around this completely unnecessary step ourselves (go2 in some instances will close the locker and reverb.lic will close lockers if you manually leave a locker), but those are bandaids to a problem that shouldn't need to exist in the first place.
I understand that sometimes we want to map out each step of an action for immersion, but just like we don't RP every time we eat, drink, go to the bathroom, sleep, etc., there's no need to do so for every single action. In this case, QoL > immersion.

Closing a locker is unnecessary only if you don’t care to keep what is in it.
Sounds like a lich script problem.
I agree. I would go a step further. Make them auto open and close on enter and exit. When have you ever walked into your locker to not open it and leave….
Well Wyrom has said he's been diving into the old and scary locker code for some time, so maybe we will see it happen. The thing to recall is that apparently the locker code is very difficult and scary sounding. Maybe Wyrom wants to comment on the feasibility of this. @south pendant It could very well be something that would screw everything up. (shrugs)
Closing your locker is basically like saving it.
Basically, it would easier for you all who use scripts to to come and go to add into your script a open and close locker addon to the script. Versus having Wyrom screw with the scary locker database code. Hehe.
I wouldn't want to change what both OPEN and CLOSE do in my updates. I've already dissected most the locker code and have plugged away at a lot of what is needed. I just don't have the time to test everything out until after the auction.
Though, there was a bug years ago where mentor doorbells could pull you out. There was also a locker in Ta'Illistim that didn't have a GO [portal] exit. It was some tricky thing. I'm honestly shocked that didn't kill the game entirely.
The locker system... A reason to increase your drinking.
Another odd system is GIVE, EXCHANGE, and ACCEPT.
Yup, I'd rather not think about them. Lol
Don't peek behind the curtain, it isn't worth it!
The following is NOT ADVICE and I cannot confirm this "works" today. Someone I know went from premium to basic. Opened their locker. Couldn't empty it. Logged out with the locker open because they couldn't hold any more items and couldn't close it. And maybe they didn't lose anything in their locker. Maybe.
And now we have Astral Vaults, I'm not saying your friend ripped a hole into the fabric of reality, but I'm also not saying he didn't.
old man thrak says to use exchange, but i haven't had a single transaction in the past 2 years where anyone initiated an exchange instead of simply dumping a pile of coins on me
Player services kind of make the exchange thing not ideal.
Am I the only one having a hard time emotionally moving on to @south pendant’s new profile pic?
Haha which one.
You can SURRENDER in the locker room to create a box when that happens. But you have a time limit to get all your things.
Just flipped back. Now I’m freakin out man
I have the server one that I animated as the rotted zombie with sunglasses that edited years ago. But then my Discord main profile image is a mesh of Carl from ATHF and Dracula from Castlevania that I also animated to shake like he did in ATHF.
It makes me laugh.
The Carl one was showing up for me for some reason. Felt like the constant in my universe was crumbling. All back to normal now with the comforting Zombie
You're right on this. Some lockers have a stringproc that closes the locker if trying to leave gets you nowhere. Others do not. It's all in MAPDB. Perhaps someday that bit will be moved to GO2 and used whenever the room has a locker tag.
I should have worded that better as an aside. I tend to be to the point and that come off as blunt or flippant at times versus my intent of just being to the point. heh.
I thought it made sense. 🙂
I have a hidden get line script that always runs in the background. Does a lot of little things for convenience. Added closing locker and leaving locker awhile back.
