#The Grand Auction of 5123 (Part 1)

get players to do the messaging for you.... just run a contest for people to create appropriate messaging and you'll get the work done for the cost of a GALD or RPA or something
gown-dolier
GownFlares.
In the next auction, throw in an item that's just a straight conversion of silver to game-wide RPA. It sells for 50k, giftbox gets a black orb. It sells for 2b, everybody gets a multi-use violet orb. Just straight PBS telethon.
heh, one would hope the monthly subscription covers that
NotRotGowns
Speaking of RPA's and experience.. I'll put my little plug here.. But Wyrom can we please make the feb extra 20% exp permanent? It really shouldn't be such a drag as it is. Please see thread about this topic for more information.
My “This is a rot garment I promise I regularly bathe” shirt is raising a lot of questions that are already answered by my shirt
in terms of completely different, fatal afflares seems to have done a pretty good job for itself of demonstrating what people will line up to pay for even when the price point doubles, the problem is that it's a customization service
you give them an inch...
PureGowns... GreaterGowns
Yfane's new design -- a Nalea/Yfane gown combo with briars.
do something like origami where its a script based system that is easier to manage (on the backend)than existing guilds, has a buy in and options, but provides minor mechanical benefits that people can buy/sell/trade amongst each other but not limited by profession, or each profession gets a slightly different boost or something.
The Gown Launcher has 15 customizable options to truly personalize the gown that you launch straight into that behemoth's face. But because of how special they are, each customization counts as 5 services, and must come from a sadie scroll submitted with a 200 million silver tip
things like the gowns, auction quality of future items (thaum tome, stills, nail press), wandoliers, the arkati amulets, the scarabs, familiar stuff, properties, herb tomes
These are all real winners. It's unfortunate, but weapons/armor just don't really belong in auctions anymore due to basically OST stuff at the pay events.
I think some services are still good in here as whale targets too, with MK/SK or such.
well, no- I think that covers the very ultra top end for some instances, but 250k is not a reasonable price.
Look more at how people give advice to others when they want to make purchases. A ton of effort is spent steering people away from low to mid tier things because of how the system works. I think that hurts revenue and the in game economy because it creates stagnation for all but the top items and scripts. It also means that when something new comes out, if its power level is not on par as perceived by the players, it doesn't get the same consideration not because of direct cost, but secondary costs such as player services, script/subscript add ons, etc
Which is a shame.
also sell fusion slotted veolas off the shelf next ebon gate and ruin everybody's life
you charge the gown launcher by feeding it gowns, the number of charges is based on the script attached. If you attempt to feed it an unscripted gown, it just zeros your bank account in protest.
I see. Would the problem be solved if (hypothetically of course) the "add script" certs were priced a lot lower?
I think my favorite "What the heck is THAT" item at the auction was the odd-looking plant. I didn't know what it was, but now that I know what it does I want one. Or several.
potentially, certainly if you already have a DR script attached to your item.
but my proposal also would include weapon base swaps- like if you have an animal maul and decide to swap to TWC, you have a strong disincentive from doing so also due to the sunk cost. My suggestion allows swapping from one DR sold base to another DR sold base of the same script.
To be clear, as a consumer I like everything that you're saying 🙂
veola shimmer trinkets - where you get the shimmer trinket plus an illusion based on what item you put into it.
Oh snap there is a Dorian Gray mirror.
same. here's hoping it's an OTS preview and I can build my own at an event
I disagree, I was just out bid on the weapons and armor.
This game does nothing on the para-social spending arc. Its a miss
This is really not me trying to harp on you, but... not a single weapon or armor went for anything close to what past weapons and armors have gone for. If you were unable to afford any of those (some of the best deals I've ever seen) then I don't think you were the target audience for the auction.
Base it off the total auction haul instead, and just make the final item a certificate saying "I spent x amount and all I got was this lousy certificate," so the Most Generous Person could round up the total?
Which basically was one of my points in the long as$ed post I did earlier. When am I the target audience? I am not for Wyromania, I am not for the silver auction. So I guess it's just the secondary market that gets the majority of the 8k (actually that's probably a bit higher but I've gotten better about keeping logs of my hobby expenditures in the last two years) I've spent on Gemstone since returning.
I have started sending out emails, yes. I have not had a chance to get to everyone yet. It requires me doing a log dive.
you and I (and I would argue a lot of other people) are the target audience of the stores, with OTS items
you are probably part of the majority then, which is what all the shops and services, events and such are done and targeted toward.
I cannot show up to an art auction with $500 and expect to come away with unique art pieces of known artists or such, I'm just not the target audience for that. However I may be able to find something I like with some work and looking around online, or perhaps obtaining prints of nice pieces.
Auctions by definition are not really meant for everyone, they can't be, they always favor who can spend the most, to expect them to be otherwise is completely counter intuitive.
I guess I'm not explaining myself well. Ah well. My long post was meant as feedback for Wyrom anyhow.
I'll sell you whatever you want bud. You want a tank? I can find a tank in my locker
I read this in Walter's voice re: a toe in The Big Lebowski
I wanted the plant, or one of the teapots so bad 😦 My note was just half as large as it needed to be. But I love, love unique items.
If you really are at that spending point, I must admit a but of surprise. $1k simu coin package gets you ~400k bloodscrip, which positions anyone pretty well at mania. Not for every item, of course - but it was enough for some MKs, which I consider to be pretty exclusive to the elite
There's only 3 types of players. The poors, no-life whales, and people who spend exactly as much as I find reasonable.
i'm the third guy
Same (since we get to choose)
Azanoth perusing HESS: "it's one coraesine relic Michael. How much can it cost? 10 dollars?"
If your going to go to the secondary market to buy silvers for an auction you're better off waiting for DR and just building the perfect item for you. You dont need an auction anymore.
Yeah. Buy BS instead, and just make whatever you want
Which I did actually do. I had thought I'd accidently done the 10k one and almost had a stroke as to what my wife would have thought. lol I sold in game most of the 250 tickets and ran around 300 arenas as an aside and spent almost all the bs I got.
I can only imagine! I only drew the example because I expect that I’m in a similar spending category and while I certainly don’t feel like everything is within reach at manias, I’ve been pleasantly surprised at what felt achievable. Flare affinity, for example, is one thing I didn’t think I’d have been able to get. Only trying to illuminate that the target audience for these events isn’t quite as narrow as they sometimes feel
As someone who's even further down than you on the food chain, I have to say that these are booming times for the secondary market! Particularly if you are willing to ask people to look in there lockers (market so devalued that a lot of people don't bother selling).
The only caveats being that 330 kinda broke everything. But if you can tolerate unsanctified I can't imagine what fantastic treasures you can get for 8k
I also don’t want to trivialize that either, it’s certainly an investment choice I had to make. And a wife that required some sweet talking 🤣
Yeah 330....man, so good. I actually bought a skill potion and paid Alastir to put the final tier on his old polearm I bought. heh. Next DR I plan on buying six of the skill potions just to get my plate armor I bought from Nodyre(it was chain had to do the AsG increase) and get that 330'd.
Ahhh yes, see the secret is getting the wife addicted to the game, and then bribing her with stuff too haha
Totally unrelated, but the timing of these auctions has spoiled me on my normal Monday Lumnis schedule, and I must now request that an auction level RPA every Sunday becomes a forever thing.
Yeah Sunday is Sorcererous Sundays, and now I'm a day late. When his Lumnis starts. Wizardarly Wednesday's is when the wizard's window starts.
not to be overshared by the permanent fortuitous feb request
Just to circle back. After these auctions, we definitely want to keep things moving. The game does a decent job at taking out silver, but we still need to plug the holes where we can. Like Reim had a pretty big hole there. When we introduce things like charms, that have an aim to drain quite a bit, it should take time to work through. It shouldn't be something you max out on day 1. So concerns of not enough silver to do things like that for the wealth gap is kind of intended. Those are intended to have long lifespans.
You feel more refreshed.
>
You give your silver cat's bell a little swat, causing it to jingle for a moment.
>roar bel
You meow.```
There is invisible messaging too.
is it intended that the bell doesn't work if you sneak?
Yes, SNEAK is a movement style (on top of keeping you hidden).
Dramatic Drapery also doesn't work with SNEAK.
I am embarrassed to say I don't remember what "charms" are supposed to be
they're the ascension thing that Auchand is working on and Naijin gave some info on during last SImucon
Here is a summary and here is Auchand's response.
#mechanics message
How about next auction some mech armor . It’s like 12 feet and you crawl into it.
Troubled waters is the new reim.
oh thanks, I will go read up
and it plays terra's theme while you walk plz
There was one at the 2016 auction.
everybody who's reading that better star it I only see 4 stars
(psst- wikiify it)
Could you rewrite it in the form of a vignette so i can star it?
Enhancive reroller is something that has been worked on as well. It's been talked about a couple times.
That sounds enticing.
bring back tier 3 orbs
Does any class have aura that damages foes. Like you just walk in a room and enemies auto start taking damage
1705 1706 from magic items does
Are there any details to what the system looks like? I may have missed it, but I've only seen references to enhancive working, not how it will work
Anything someone can speak to?
1706! 😃
I don';t think details have been shared. It is a silver system though. It was something Naijin was working on or at least brainstorming.
Those weird items have a name and it's "fluff"
Want to spend comical amounts of silver on a leatherworkers kit.
Hey Wyrom, if you're still floating around out here, I'd appreciate a catch up on Shattered's auction activity if you have a moment.
Well even things like the scarabs, flesh, bell, etc. Those will all grab attention.
Where do you see the high-end things living in the future? Assuming they move away from auctions
Oh I think auctions will always exist. We just don't run them too often. We have some ideas we'll be announcing after RoL too, to help with the big number problems with auctions.
now introducing: gold
Looking forward to hearing it
I have to say I really appreciate the still/nail press model that we saw. Scripts that everyone will/does have access to but the auction items just make them easier to use or more elaborate.
Yup. We'll have it announced soon. It's not a drop. It's not a SimuCoin thing. It's just to help with things like passing money around, big integers, and deadlines to participate.
Now I want platinum pieces🙃🙃
?? gold? are we actually getting additional currency denominations?
I have honestly wondered why that wasn't done before.
Are you thinking ahead for when people integer overflow the gold tracker? You only have like.. a year right?
100,000 silver per gold. Shouldn't be something to worry about (famous last words).
Hahaha. Good luck, have fun.
gold is so mundane. platinum pls
I'd be very disappointed if Plat wasn't .25 of silvers.
So much joke potential wasted there
Can we get bronze, copper, gold and plat kronar, lirums and dokoras? Is this the segway into DragonRealms currency?
In 50k years!
DON’T BRING THAT DOWN UPON US
a full currency expansion sounds like a lot
plus, who wants to be more like Dragonrealms ugh
Speaking of which, I need to post a petition against more Gemstone-only nouns. We can't fall into the Dragonrealms trap.
moon mages...necromancers...
Challenge accepted. Only 12,000 years.
Im here with you. Lets port over sensible rw nouns
New auction item: you get to name the next currency denomination
all in on BoateyMcBoatCoin
Attune the contents (including the entries) and there will be less abuse.
But if the goal is draining silvers, attuning the contents is anti-goal.
Catching up... charms are supposed to be a silver drain? The only thing I remember is them sounding shockingly less expensive than I expected.
The worst part about DR is their monetary system, it requires math lol
Also, can we have a new thread for April Auction teasers when they start?
Make a gown made of flesh ... @mental light would buy!
what is this charm thing you're speaking of?
Of flesh? Lol pass
It can't just be "a gown", it has to be "a pretty gown". We have standards.
The Goodbye Horses gown collection
Isn't that just a leather gown?
I'd probably start a whole new character from scratch if I had a flesh gown and no one would know it was me playing it
Wyrom, another auction idea for you https://www.facebook.com/reel/931256821240725?s=yWDuG2&fs=e&mibextid=Nif5oz
LOL
Imo, there weren't really any top super amazing items that got the ultra rich frothing. Probably the closest was the surita sigil I guess
Would you wear this? I'd wear this.
Circling back to the conversation about getting the secondary market to function again. Obviously the most helpful thing would be an influx of new players 🙂
But my pet theory lately has been that 330 (which I love and find essential) kind of broke the resale market for anyone who isn't willing to spend big on sanct potions. The gear score on everything is so high, I see a mind blowing weapon with a 800 score and no potential for an s6 and I just shrug and walk away. A t5 used to be a selling point and is just something I can strip for 250 gear score room. All of which means that person doesn't replace their weapon cause they can't sell it to me etc...
But I wonder if there is any evidence to back this up or it's just my own idiosyncrasy. If it's true beyond me, then adjustments to that market (supercharged with my other pet idea... hooking the mail system, and peoples lockers into a out of game spreadsheet could democratizes selling and shake loose some lockered items) could free up a bunch of the mid-range market?
I mean, it's hard to justify starting a new Somnis weapon if I have nothing to do with the old weapon.
You could sell the old one?
I mean, have you tried to sell a high end weapon in the last year? You really almost can't unless you're basically giving it away.
85% depreciation is a hard pill for anyone to stomach
is that not exaggerated a bit? I am planning to build a mid-range sigil staff for about 200k BS and I'd buy it pre-built from someone for like 150k BS right now - a lot of that value is in the sancts/ensorcells/enchants and those have long been sunk costs that you usually don't get back
I'm wondering if these comments are just focused on the super high-end market?
Ufian's comment literally said "high end weapon" and yours says "mid-range." 😛
meh what I call midrange/high-range is totally subjective...and I wasn't referring just to his comment but Rinualdo and others have been talking about that for awhile now
I'd imagine a 200k BS runestaff is high-end to 90%+ of the playerbase, right?
It depends on the item. A runestaff has a larger user base.
lol
you just need to find a bigger idiot
It's really not that hard to check. Lemme grab the first example I come across
For example, there is a T3 Voln full plate that went up for sale yesterday and its at 80m? And I think it's fairly improved upon. What would that that take to recreate?
Disintegrate flares
Tier 3 Voln Armor
Spiked
5 points damage padding
3 points crit padding
425 diff```
Hey that's mine.
what amount of depreciation would people consider the "correct" amount? this is a question I feel I want to ask every time the secondary market comes up
Ok but this week is a really bad time to use as an example as people are scrambling to offload unused items and get silvers for the auction (the past one and the one coming up presumably).
177k soul shards for the armor, plus enchanting, plus flaring (33k more?), spiking, and gritting.
I think runestaffs (sigil staffs in particular) have the biggest market and least drop off.
My real question though is... if you've sunk 200kBS into a runestaff, and it has no s6, it's basically not going on any of my mains and keeps it from being anything except a bargain for an alt (unless it's so good i'm willing to buy a sanct potion). So that wipes out most of the mid-high end market from pre 330 launch. And I wonder if this is just me or a key factor in the overall deprecation.
A long long time ago it was appreciation… that always made more sense to me, given that it would take time/effort to build up an item. But there were more players and fewer improvement paths then
When I discuss it, it's less about the amount and more relative to a few tweaks simu could make that would revitalize the market itself.
That said, I think human nature has an overall threshold that people would rather keep something than sell it at such a huge discount. It varies from person to person, but I suspect the median number to be close to what I would put it at.
But Tsalin is correct: I'm pricing aggressively looking to move it. Not sure what that says except about how big my eyes are for the coming auction and something something mirror. But if anyone wants to negotiate on that, hit me up.
Remember when we were told that silver prices would go up and up as we got closer to auction, and the auction would somehow make a huge impact in the overall economy? And that literally didn't happen?
Pepperidge Farm remembers.
Counterpoint: the pricing on Yavs' steep armor discount is literally that. Prices dropping on high-end gear doesn't reflect the value of the gear. That's the value of the silvers being up.
ultimately in the DR universe it's hard to see how an item could hold value above the price of the cost of the components, right, you can't make a mana sigil staff that's better than the one I can make except by customizing it in ways that I wouldn't want, which would not improve the value to me. in fact, I think player services go some way towards increasing the split between perceived value on the part of the owner and perceived value on the part of the buyer.
It also remembers the 2020 auction when prices spiked up to $6/per. Obviously some factors happened here that were different than the 2020 auction.
Also, Rinualdo, wouldn't your idea put a huge dent in the player services market if you could just transfer services to your new item? I'm not sure breaking one thing to fix another is a good idea? Curious what you think about that concern.
Unless one of your mains is a cleric.
Yeah, I agree with what you’re saying on player services.
As far as DR goes, the reason I’d think some things might appreciate is if their attributes are time-gated. Like WPS - in the fullness of time you can get a lot, but only so many per window. Or HESS upgrades (due to stamps).
But, you know, that’s clearly not how it plays out
There's a lot of oddity in the GS economy with discrepancies between how I'd expect something to work and how it actually works. 😄
I was selling a perfect death metal spike star with GUB, fusion, and all the player services (except maybe S6 but it was well within reach). There was literally nothing about it that could have been built better. You couldn’t build it without years and years of WPS, a greater transmute, winning a fusion spin, etc. It wouldn’t sell for months, even at a fraction of its value.
What you want for it 😛
Depends on the fraction 🙂 also your fault for making a ohb instead a handaxe.
"This is the greatest Edsel that you could possibly make. It's got all the bells and whistles!"
At least it wasn't a pilum
I’m keeping it! It actually did end up selling for a really embarrassing price, and I realized I was a fool for selling and bought it back 🙂
There's definitely a point beyond which nobody who can afford a top tier item has any use for it and everything breaks down. It's even weirder with runestaves cause so many professions use them and there's so little competition for a surita sigil.
I mean it might shock some of you to hear this but the market for spending 5k USD for a mud weapon is pretty small. And it’s cornered by simu now. Secondary market is there it’s just at normal people digital asset prices 🙂
okay I guess my big takeaway so far is that all my characters should use blunts for economic reasons
And the DF!
I mean I do also think there are mechanical incentives but forget that give me the (reduced negative amount of) money
Almost like the goal is to have so many add-ons that you can't realistically fit them all onto one piece of gear!
Yes and no on the 330 theory, my capped warrior has no will or desire to hunt undead, my younger warrior has a s6 GUB coraesine sword and a s6 shield, it makes hunting anything not undead painful... so I've started to consider s6 as undesirable because it's so good it locks you into hunting undead
You don't actually believe this, do you?
It is significantly cheaper to have 4 good weapons than 1 ultra weapon
but how else will I be able to brag about my fancy stuff?
I think since I have deployed many hot takes tonight I may as well go ahead and ask how bad it would actually be to buy that hypothetical 800 difficulty non-sanctified item and then, you know, symbol of blessing it (remember I'm a cleric so this is an admission against interest)
I think 304 is very, very underrated relative to S6. Particularly if you have reliable access to it, as you do
The TD for undead is very nice, though.
I haven’t sanctified a single weapon yet and I won’t be any time soon lol.
You definitely need the TD if you want to hunt some of the Hinterwilds areas.
The discord tends to be where a lot of ultra high-mid high end players hang out, the majority of the game is lucky to scrape together enough silvers to -get- a s6.
I bought a fairly difficult warsword (681 difficulty) at the auction because I like options, and have no desire to do any more player services to it than some damage weighting, and -maybe- a s5 (because s6 disables bleesability)
You can have them all, you just have to spend a bunch of simucoins to do it. Or upgrade in a very specific order.
TD is a good point!
Hyperspecialize! I've got 10x/T5 Dispel 5/KO/rotgloves and some equally ridiculous ghostpunchers.
and CS on a rune for undead!
They can't ward you if you arrow in-eye them first
To the 330 point, if this is the goal for general players to have to make choices (choices are good!; Some people will pay to have it all but we can sidestep that for now) it does speak how the market might interact after adding a new service that people like.
Because you can't really go backwards with most choices except with the ensorcell.
Don't need padding if you never get hit, saves room for TD on your armor.
S6 was too good and honestly should have been balanced better, but it came out with class change potions so omegalul
But then you get the cheap death surprise.
S6 changed how I saw all other flares and now I can't unsee it.
S6 isn’t even that good. 🙂 it’s not 50m good. But big number go brrrrrrr
its almost like after the 30 years, the only thing left to go up is the numbers
The only flares that are better are double attack flares w/ like Coraesine, and stuff like death flares, imo
I've hit an ethereal captain before with a shield strike. Shield s6 flares, sword s6 flares, coraesine flares another attack which also S6 flared. It was nutty. Like 680 damage on 2 attacks, and in 2 seconds
Flare Affinity has entered the chat
How much did it do against a krolvin captain?
I mean... on first approximation nothing is a good return on investment between 10m and like 150m when things start to add up again (what s6 taught me is that all flares are basically fluff except in niche cases).
The relevant struggle with weapon building is if you want to ever have s6, you should do it before you add the other stuff. It'll cost you to go back.
It does enough lol. I was arguing earlier s6 is highly situational, I don't like it because once you have it, it almost forces you to fight undead
My main point is the raw hp damage (though very good. Don’t get me wrong) isn’t as good as people think it is and the rest of sanc on weapons is replaced with a freely available spell from a level 4 spell. You can get 90% of the benefit for free.
S6 isn’t balanced against nothing to s6. It’s balanced against 304 to s6. Adding some raw hp damage to half the targets available to you isn’t THAT big of a deal.
#mechanics
I'll concede your mechanics analysis as long as you concede markets aren't rational and that begging for a blessing counts as a cost, albeit a small one 🙂
Gemstone players are crazy is like, my core belief. Yes.
Clearly the solution is to update 304 to bless enchanted gear from magic items/scrolls with sufficient training.
But with S6 I get 100% uptime on the benefit plus fantastic sub flares.
Plus you get +10 AS, which does help, but I'm also in the camp of thinking it's best on armor and less desirable on weapons/shields
I’m all for you all continuing to funnel money to my cleric. He thanks you for your service.
Thanks but I try to handle those in-house
Give me a break with that comment. SMR and open rolls make it so that there is no way to avoid getting hit. My sorcerer died last night under hunting by 7 levels due to that. He is dying once a week due to cheap manvouvers under hunting every week.So yeah, padding etc is needed. Your continued glibness isn't helping.
Blink flares, mindwrack flares,
I need to make Panache Flares.
Tortilla flares
Some apparently have greater snark flares. Which have a decent to high flare rate.
It is actually something I want to do, I'm not a fan of how some of the flares work for non-elemental based flares.
i read that as pancake flares
LOL no, I just never liked how mechanical flares looked, especially depending on the weapon base. Much rather have something that is a bit more nuanced, like fighting knives.
Maybe next, next auction.
Next auction confirmed. Lol
poleaxe flares are fun to see too
i do love those. if it hasn't been offered maybe a Fatal Afflares cert for the puncture/slash/crush flares that just make them you smacking the thing. (and discount them since it's for teh rp)
A bronze-hazed sand rat bounds around with playful abandon, and with each landing, the ground ripples under his tiny feet.I just saw this ambient for the first time and it's sensational and I love my rat
did we get teases on the air and fire version?
WTB acid/hybrid version
there were rats sold at the auction?
a special custom familiar with custom ambients attached to an enhancive item themed for the elements.
Water = snake
earth = rat
fire = ???
air = ???
Fire was a... bird. Falcon? It was lightly teased.
Lightning is a smoke-flavored jackelope, fire is a flame-wreathed kestrel.
lightning isn't a lore though, unless that is air?
Oh, air is a smoke-flavored hooded crow. So presumably they're ATTUNE-themed, rather than lore-themed.
#1083646503429603448 message
Lightning is a combination of air and water
smoke flavored? mmmm tasty jackalope.
if it was a real jackalope i'd go for that, temping on the bunny in general though...
I kind of want the air one. Or the rabbit one. Make the rabbit one the air one 😛
The jackalope will always sound like Dave Coulier in my headcanon
...my foraging tome is broken. Sad panda. (Yes, I bugitemed it.)
Whatever’s struck by lightning is usually smoke flavored though.
Hey. What’s this tomb of secrets. Tease me! Tell me!!
Everybody who's ever touched a live wire knows lightning tastes like pennies.
You'll need to assist
Yeah but it's an electric smoke flavor which is not yummy. It's like burning plastic, burning sulfur and burning hair made a baby. That what that smells like
I have been struck by lightning, the copper flavor is wild.

Updated with known information.
Quick update to the harnesses with height effects (ODM Gear). It will now take into account your TARGET setting on just POINT HARNESS.
Do we know the date of the next auction?
If/when teasers start - Can we have a new forum post that is read only with them. (No pinning requirements!)
No date set yet. Likely the last weekend of RoL.
This is a busy month!
could the bell be updated to be pin worn/non functional?
is there a reason why some items have that flag? i never understood the chronomage dagger and other items like it. wouldn't it be better if it is more flexible. like sometimes you find like legendary item that doesn't really fit you or could use.
It's not a flag, it's the design of the item. It's just the intended path for that unique item.
I had chronomage scripts added to a dagger and then had to go through several years of asking to have it altered INTO the chronomage description
yea they were player enchantable but npcs refuse to enhant them even if you win a raffle/made a list
Love it
Ryinara glances calmly to the ground as a single white feather drifts lazily from her white-feathered cloak. [But not really, since we're in DEV.]
👀
I let them know. It will be fixed as soon as possible!
👍
When is the April auction?
I believe the best we got is "the latter part of lumnis"
most likely 28th-30th of april was last we heard, but subject to change as usual
April dollars bring May auctions
But what do may auctions bring
june tears
Whatever happened to the giftbox?
You mean we got it and I forgot? I mean it's been 10 days so I suppose that's possible.....
Wyrom said it got scope creeped and needed more time to not explode spectacularly
Thanks. Did he give a time frame for its release?
sits in the corner and rocks
Wyrom time is incredibly Protean. Sometime between now and doomsday
Which has been established as 1/19/38 right?
yeah,

"Long enough for people to earn more silvers back! Rabble rabble rabble!"1
giftbox or auction schedule?
Yes.
I'm not part of the giftbox
auction schedule then. 👍
(she did participate in the feature creep 👀👀)
(it's fun when someone else is doing the heavy lifting)
Which is why we all do it so much, haha
The Grand Auction of 5123 (Part 1)
I'll be closing this thread soon (couple days). I'll start a thread in #game-chatter and create a read-only forum post for part 2.
I'll toss an announcement out when it's finalized. I did roll in some demeanor checks into the pie box. But I have a handful of other updates and bug fixes that I'm getting too tired to do.
Just so you are aware, I'm also having issues. I have submitted a bug report and put in an ASSIST.
Her issue was that it was still an auction item which is why she needed an assist
Ah, I shall cancel the assist then but I can't get the table of contents to work when in the realm and the font changes when I interact with the tome.
Type INFO to fix the font changes, and then try again?
I'll have to run to Zul Logoth again, give me a sec
Should work anywhere
I see that now 🙂 Looks good, thank you. I'll run over to Zul again in a bit and test it out properly
I forgot to roll out the table that held the info
Sorry!
I meant to look into that Monday but caught my kiddo's but and was laid out
All good! Can't wait to use this in situ and really hoping you are able to look at the movement option becoming world-wide. Sorry to hear you've been poorly though ❤️
If we have questions about the items in the auction, are there particular staff that were involved to email?
Item that you won? Otherwise, I'd probably just chime in here.
Either way.
This has been a fun chat. See you all in the next one.
The last post in here should be Wyrom turning off the lights and a link to the new one 😄
Based on past experience, it'll be Wyrom asking, "did that work?" and somebody saying no.
We should take turns posting over and over again hoping to be the last post before it shuts down.
I proclaim it to be the most whimsical "Grand Auction of 5123" forum to date
And how.
yes, i will miss this
April/grand auction end of month dip into may silver smithy please? 🙂
Herblore Tome movement messaging will work everywhere now
I ❤️ you so much right now! Thank you 🙏🏻
❤️ to Estild!
I ❤️ Estild so much right now too! This is a defining moment for Roh 🥰
Do we have a date or teasers for the items new to the April auction?
...now if I can just get the auction script removed from mine...
(I have an assist in I just wanna be able to be like Belle, walking around with my nose in a book!)
not doing the singing thing though. Just the nose in a book. Hmm. I wonder if I can get that dark elf nose I got from Crondi turned into a bookmark.
If we're doing feature creep of things, you should add a random fall flat on your face/bump into walls for having your nose in a book. 😄
Also a %chance of dying to plague for being an impoverished French peasant
you should be arrested if your face is buried in a book while mounted on a horse
so-and-so suddenly veers to one side, narrowly avoiding [object]. His/her gaze never leaves the pages of the book held in front of him/her
There should be a random chance of something like:
You guide your horse to the [direction], your attention still on your book. You abruptly find yourself sitting on the ground with your [mount] in front of you, your book askew from the branch that caused your unexpected dismount..
isn't there actual laws in place for this, it feels like one of those "You can't eat ice cream on sundays in the road" type of things.
Nah, you're fine unless the horse is drunk too.
There are jurisdictions that do not consider a horse to be an autonomous vehicle and do require the operator to be sober and attentive. It's because the horse cannot be held liable.
Because horses are not financially stable
no more reigns of terror like this or you'll make the rest of us whinny. We may even make a Colt. So please, stop stalling now and let's go back to mane event and let us neigh have more of these night-mares....
