The future public release version is JUST the add-a-design functionality (Customs only, no built-ins) and currently only handles gemstone designs, but I have plans for expansion on it if I don't get canned.

I mean, the gig happened organically, and I have been doing it ever since. I love the conversations with other characters and just a slower character exploration of RP.

I try to shower them with love when it happens. Doing Agathilea's nails, I matched it with a raspberry apple ale since she lived in a farm in Vaalor. So she got the Eahnor polish with the fresh apple ale picked from her home.

Very proud RP, really fun, and I hope she had the most fun with it.

For all of the items I made I did not put any loresong on them intentionally. The reason for that is my design philosophy was to make something with a theme, but not lock the owner into what I might have been inspired by.

As a custom loresong would take up a script slot, I did not want to limit someone who won it who might wish to add something later in choosing between the loresong or the script (yes I know it can be a subscript in cases, but then the issue can arise when it comes to wanting other script/subscript combinations).

We are forever cursed in making "historical" items in that they're either mechanically underpowered/underwhelming to players, or so stronk that no one cares about their story and just want the weapon for its mechanical properties.

I've said it before, but I (personally as a GM) have fallen into the slap a description on and send it out into the world. Someone is gonna alter it to taste and that's fine.

I believe in flexibility when it comes to such things. This way the story is the one that owner/wielder wants it to be. Ideas certainly inspired it, but it isn't officially any one thing. Certainly details in it to pickup as such.

But otherwise I try to pick thing I think will be both useful and thus valued by many, but also a design that can provide equal value. But without putting something on there that may just get scraped/removed by someone wanting to upgrade the item later. Which in the case of a custom loresong or a nice pure fluff script can and does happen.

Yeah, it's one thing to come up with a loresong that goes with a script (a la briar flares and dozens of others) and quite another to come up with a unique loresong for one item -- it's cool to do, but a lot of people will just want it gone to add other scripts or not like the story, etc.

One of the Hunt for History items that handled it best, in my opinion, was an obvious replica of Searswathe. The loresong showed there were a number of replicas distributed at the coronation of the Empress, but of course they were just replicas. Historically significant but not locked into huge mechanical powers.

I also fully understand someone asking if an item has a loresong. It was a question asked of me when I showed the design to others to get feedback. But my reason explained above were the same as I answered to them. Just a matter of trying to give something a broad appeal so you can have interest in the item from multiple angles.

you can have 2 notes, one in each hand, or coins on you when you are bidding. Hands will not count towards your total, so if you have 10m on silvers on you, but 500m in the coin hand, the system will only recognize the 10m. The system will only recognize the notes in hands, or the silver on your person.

counter point though- I remember in DR when we re-released the DCW sanctified maces as HCW sanctified maces. And that was exciting. Or when at Mania we released make-your-own acid immolation weapon or make-your-own plasma immolation weapon. I happened to have bought all of those things, and I was SO damn happy. Hell the storm hammer- call wind does virtually nothing against like leveled things, quake costs 34 mana which is way more than any other mass disabling spell, and otherwise it's 5x with lightning flares. The only other thing it does is make storms in the area (which I LOVE). @forest knoll has been trying to buy that from me for 7 years, and I've never once been tempted. What I'm getting at here is just because X number of players may complain that something isn't up to snuff For them doesn't mean that it's not insanely appreciated

The auction will be using New Bids on the Block system from Duskruin. This will allow us to run Prime and Platinum at the same time and it will be much faster. Plus you will be able to INSPECT/ANALYZE everything instead of hearing a GM NPC stutter through hoping they have all the right information. That's one thing that you have to consider when we run these sort of events that debut a ton of new things, a lot of GMs are learning about these items at the same time as players. While sure, a GM can look at all the new scripted stuff being made, poke through it, look through the spreadsheet, it's a ton of information to digest.

The "Bracer of Spider Holding" is home to a ... spider void? pocket dimension? I guess? The magic is mysterious. It has a redonkulous amount of spiders living in it. It has 5 mechanical functions, some fluff verbs, ambients, and is enhanced to give you better Spidey Sense and better climbing abilities. You can customize the spider, but it has to stay small. No tarantulas or anything. I will probably share another function or two later. That is all for now.

I would have loved to have been able to change a couple of things about my property, I love it overall, but being able to tidy up some of the beat up furniture would have been awesome... here's hoping for something similar, though I guess all private properties would have to be reworked to have eligible props for that to happen

5m maybe. Maybe, if something super small scale goes out. But 1m no. 😄 (To put things in perspective, I think the cheapest item at the 2016 auction was 7m for a fireworks press. Of course, that auction didn't have a one win per account restriction, so I'm giving a little leeway that maybe something will go for less here!)
