#Best flares for Sigil Staff?
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
I have one with Acuity, one with Dispel. I like both. I think "best" is defined more by where you hunt and how.
I like acuity on a primarily warding caster and dispel on a primary bolter.
Yeah, was thinking either dispel or acuity. But I guess dispel it is. Do you ahve to upgrade the dispel flares to get them to 3 spells? I dont see a service for that in HESS?
the "dispel boost booklet" in Hess will upgrade dispel flares.
Boost takes it to 3 I think, greater will take it above three
I use Acuity with my Sorcerer..is fantastic
Both my Wizzy use dispel flares...love that too
Ah i didnt see that. So the boost gets you up to +3 dispel (3 spells), the greater boost allows you to go over 3 spells, up to 5? Do i understand that right?
If youre leveling still mana is great. I dumped acuity for terror flares.
Nah, i'm capped on both wizards now.
I mean i'm still grinding for xp tho, if thats what you meant?
Quick update:
I got Dispel flares added. I have my sigil tier upgrade tokens ready but have not used them yet as i wanted to wait for player services.
My staff is now:
It imparts a bonus of +35 more than usual.
It has been infused with the power of a strange anti-magical substance (1 dispel attempt).
It appears to weigh about 2 pounds.
It is estimated to be worth about 4,950,000 silvers.
It is predominantly crafted of orase.
It has been ensorcelled 5 times.
It may be enchanted up to a bonus of 35 by a wizard and was last enchanted by Symbion.
It is a complex project (611 difficulty) for an adventurer to modify.
It has some unknown (scripted) benefit.
It has a permanently unlocked loresong by Resonancer.
Sigil script is tier 4, need to save up for T5 boy thats expensive. Will be the most i spent on any one thing at DR.
I'm debating wether to spend my remaining BS on getting it to 3x dispel (60k more scrip). But maybe its better to do T5 sigil first?
T5 sigil is amazingly good, also going to T3 dispel in one DR will incur surcharges.
Going from a GEF/nerve staff on my wizard to a T5 sigil with 3x dispel was night and day. I went from a powerful wizard to a murder machine. Especially in OTF where the Ithzirs spells just chain combust.... it's amazing
Yer, hard to go wrong with dispel flares regardless of the character. Critters casting Wall of Force have become much less annoying since my warrior got them on her morning star and shield
I hunt OTF. It's the one place where I can say dispel flares are 100% the choice, hands down. Ithzir are all spelled to the roof. Everyplace else it's like, "other good flares include", but in OTF, yeah.
Dispel crushes in SoS too. Shapers, fanatics and sentinels all wear a ton of buffs and those fluxes are juicy.
Sooo you're saying i need to get t5 like asap. Hmmm. Not sure i could swing it this DR i'm already low on BS and dont like investing $$, rather using silvers from trades and sales in my shops to buy books/BS to do all my DR work, which is alot slower.
I think T5 sigil is more impactful then T5 dispel, but in OTF, it's close if I'm being honest. T5 sigil is amazing everywhere though.
I'm going to try moons edge next, but no idea if it will be an efficient hunting zone for me.
Are the Ithzir spells boosting their TD?
I mean, I've never analyzed the wall of spells that drops from them when they die, but given that there are like 20 spells that improve TD in some way I can't imagine they arent
Why Sigil+Dispel is amazing, no matter what level it's at
The SMR attack is less likely to hit in asc zones, though leveling up the flare helps with that. But if they have spells, the strip aspect of dispel isn't level based as far as I know.
I have a GEF, acuity, and dispel staff and use the dispel the most.
What other things should I do to my sigil staff?
It's 7x
T5 ensorscelled
Dispel 1x (will upgrade to 3x)
Are there other player services that are worth it for runestaves?
I would also recommend doing the Sanct before adding any other services/unlocks that will raise the difficulty.
One thing I think a lot of folk overlook is perm unlocking the loresong. Makes it much easier to remember what you have, esp for project pieces
Would be tempting, only i havent hunted undead in years on any of my characters. So i feel like this service is completely useless to me. I do want to try moonsedge but no idea if i will hunt there permanently.
There’s no negative impact to spell casting on undead though right? Not like with Melee where you need Sanc to mitigate?
Nope it’s really just for the HF flare
