Since returning, anytime I go to the Ta'Illistim, I'm confronted with the following in front of the city gate. These crystals, are an eye sore. They've lazily painted, there is nothing about them when you try to examine, analyze etc. You can't notice anything about them, how big, how small, are they thrust up out of the earth? Are they towering fixtures? What? No idea. Yes, I know to go do a search on the wiki about them and read up about it.
It doesn't change my main underling point. They're badly painted, and would be confusing to a new player. They were confusing to me and I'm not a new player. They remind me of that damn entrance/gate at the recent Ebon's Gate. You feel like you should be able to pick up the damn thing, not go through it. These crystals to a new player would be confusing, if I were a new player I'd be trying pick them up to go and sell personally.
If objects of a permanent nature are going to be added to a room, I feel that they should be a part of the main room description. Regardless of that, an inspect, examine etc should be a part of the item description, giving you a feel for the size, look and function of the object.
[Ta'Illistim, City Gate]
A cavernous opening in the cliff's steep face dominates the crest of the hillside, serving as the nearly impenetrable entrance to the great city built by House Illistim. A raised portcullis is barely visible at the top of the stony gate. Intricately carved columns flank the entrance, their crowns adorned with delicate silvered glyphs and toothily grinning gargoyles. Daylight shimmers across the glyphs, highlighting their curves and contours with subtle grace. You also see a frost-edged pale cerulean crystal, a fiery deep crimson crystal, a translucent pale ivory crystal and a frost-edged pale cerulean crystal.
