At some point during Duskruin, a cart will be put out where private property owners will be able to purchase "a miniature wardrobe replica" that will allow placement of a new, sorting clothing container in an indoor room in their private property. This will not work in premium homes, tents, or any other location except in a private property you are the owner of.

*Are they alterable? * Yes. You can change the description, add a long description, and/or a show, customize the scent messaging seen when you open the MOARdrobe, and customize the adjectives before the mirror inside by taking your replica to any willing GALD merchant.

The MOARdrobe has 9 subcontainers inside that garments get sorted into when you PUT them in it. There are 7 style sets of subcontainer descriptions, each with an accompanying default scent, that you can choose from before you create the wardrobe. If a custom scent is set, it will override this default. Once the MOARrobe is placed, these cannot be changed.

The MOARdrobe and its subcontainers may not be deepened. Each subcontainer has a maximum it can hold, and in total, they add up to 200 pounds of storage. You cannot put armor, weapons, or armor accessories in it.

The first time you TURN your replica, you'll create a key that can be used to lock and unlock the MOARdrobe once it is placed. You will need to hold the key and the replica when you are placing it in a room. The key is wearable and can be FLIPped to change the worn location between wrist, neck, and belt BUT you must be holding it in hand to lock and unlock the MOARdrobe.

Now that the fine print is out of the way, let's get to the fun stuff.

Verbs:
GAZE will show you a nested list of everything inside the MOARdrobe, including what's inside a container placed in one of the subcontainers.

LOOKing in it will show you a list of the subcontainers and anything directly on/in them.

PEERing at the MOARdrobe will allow you to look at yourself in the mirror hanging inside it.

SNIFF and RUB are fluff verbs.

Style Sets:

Fight Night, Leonine Lord, Barebones, Witching Hour, Necromantic Noir, and Druidic Dreams are the different style sets you can choose from for the containers inside the wardrobe.

This includes the following subcontainers: a grey haon moss-cushioned box, an aged cognac leather trunk, an iron-framed bloodwood bin, a long mushroom-carved shelf, some smoky amber crescent pegs, a row of twisted faenor hangers, a lace-wreathed gown rack, a jet-lacquered vellum-lined drawer, and some rootlike oiled leather trees.
The current scent setting is: an earthiness reminiscent of vetiver and agarwood

Is this going to be a one container per GALD or can you do all at once, or will that be up to the GM doing the GALD?

Can the Key be altered once its made?

are the custom scents GALD, or just form a list? if its GALD are we going to need a GALD per custom scent we wish to set?

I'm trying to sus out if I need 30 GALD sessions for this.

It's up to the GM but they're fine to do all at once if they're comfortable doing so. I have pretty explicit information for them to alter them that hopefully makes it simple.

The subcontainers can't be altered, only the main wardrobe container.

The key can be altered once it's made. It also will have a READ on it that tells you the name of the room the moardrobe is in (in case you get more than one).

The scent is GALD, but each MOARdrobe can only have one.

(Assuming and hoping lofts are even made available for purchase.) This item in particular sounds VERY attractive to me. It would allow me to retire several F2P mules.

Very nice addition, Tivvy. I know you guys want to keep things hands-off and automatic, but we have a wardrobe in one of our rooms already that has has some container deepening done for it. I wonder if you would be amenable to looking at replacement options instead of just an addition? Otherwise we may end up with two wardrobes in the same room which may look odd (That said, I am asking this without talking to Elysia first, which is "Mistake Number 1"...)

In this case it's not really feasible to add to existing because of the complexity of it. I don't know if this helps, but you're not locked into wardrobe as a noun.

Imbedding them in the room description requires a GM to alter the room on the fly, which isn't something we do, generally. I'll put my thinking cap on, though.

I can't remember if I tested if they'll work on a keyring, but they are duplicatable with lockmastery so worst case scenario you can duplicate one that you put on the keyring. I don't know terribly much about keyrings and how they function. Do they let you normally unlock things while the key remains on the ring?

As excited as I am about this for my private property, I honestly hope that there is the option for them to be added as a component of Premium home properties in the future. I realize that system is a monster of a code nightmare and sends generations of GMs scurrying to quit as soon as they glance at it, but it really does need a lot of love, and I feel that some concepts used in private properties could benefit them without losing the value that private properties have.

Didn't answer if our existing house key could be used. And I think so far you would have to hold the keyring turned to the appropriate key for the MOARdrobe to unlock/lock it. It's not automatic like our entry portals can be updated to use house keys automatically. Although, would be neat if it could be done automatically. But not sure what sort of beast that would entail to do a fake unlock, look inside, relock. Same for getting an item out of it.

To answer some questions:

Existing house keys cannot currently be used. They can be used on keyrings. They can't currently be used without them either the key or the ring in hand. That's a more complicated ask but I can look into it.

You do not have to lock it, it can remain unlocked if you prefer.

I do want to clarify that the 200 pounds the MOARdrobe holds is spread over 9 subcontainers that only hold specific items. So, for example, the shoe trees hold footworn items on them and have a limit of 20 pounds.

that 200lb spread out like that is a real bummer, is there no way to make that not be the case? it really limits some of this now. Like if I have a massive amount of gowns but no shoes for instant that 20lb of shoe space is wasted more or less and then I don't have enough room for all my gowns. I still think its a killer idea over all but that's sort of a let down, but I super appreciate knowing this ahead of buying one and getting tons of work done on something to only find that out at the end.

Also, confirming what I read earlier, the moardrobe itself can be altered, but its subcontainers cannot? Is that correct?

Subcontainers cannot be altered, correct. You have to choose from one of the existing sets. It could be a service I offer at some point in the future but there's no way to do it via a GALD merchant (it's just too much information to fit on there with the number of them.)

Do we need to get all the alters done, if we want them, before we place it? Or can it be altered after we place it? If the first, does the replica have the same expiration dates to be placed a week or so after DR?

(also SUPER SUPER happy it's based on WEIGHT and not ITEM COUNT. They both have their place in item management, but variety. Yo, it's a thing.)
Also: Tivvy, this probably isn't a major THING, but you might want to block the replicas from going in a BoH (or talk to whoever owns BoHs, I think it's Haliste? about doing that). I was able to put a replica in a BoH, but when I looked inside, the replica was just a bunch of code. They're complicated enough things I was totally expecting to not be able to put them in the BoH to begin with, so.

You turn the replica to create a key for it, you need THAT key in your hand, then go to the room you want it in and raise the replica, it will then place your new wardrobe/armoire/linen-press etc

It's just the adjectives in front of the word mirror, not the article. You're not limited to 15 characters there, but keep it pretty close to that.

TIVVY! I RAN INTO A PROBLEM. I got all my customizations done because that was #1 in the analyze instructions on my moardrobe. I turned it and got my key. I turned it again to change flavor and the scent has changed with it.

That's not a bug, that's a GM forgetting to toggle the custom scent thinger.

MOARdrobe request for future development: Catalog/index/book/etc. you can point at an installed MOARrobe and the THING is paired with that MOARdrobe and acts like a locker manifest, listing current contents.
