When rune tattoos came out, I chose an OTS tattoo just to stick spells on it. I've hated the look of it ever since. I had a general theme of an idea for a replacement tattoo. Jehckle came up with something beautiful fitting what I had envisioned.

Massive thanks to ALL the GMs involved with Merchant Week in some way, from doing the actual merchanting sessions to being background QC to covering general ASSISTS.

Special shout-out to @narrow quest for the Culinary challenges and to my teammates creating the tea set for the experience of a lifetime. I made a comparison to Bardfest, and that rush of "OMG I have to do Big Creativity under Big Time Crunch" that produced something so beautiful I want to look at it constantly... That was something I didn't know I'd been missing until I had it. And I loved being on the judging side for the Diner's Boards - the results from 12 hours (or less!) were truly amazing and shows that there are some super creative brains out there.
(Plus, now I know of more storytellers hiding in plain sight out there. And can gently hound you to be in the Carnivale Concert next summer.)

Finally, my Merchant Week experience would have been VERY DIFFERENT without our BlobGlomp. There's no way I can hope to tag everyone who was part of it at some time, but I'm sure you all know who you are. Having people to chat with while waiting in line, and who were there to lift spirits when a spinner passed you over AGAIN and then cheer for you when the spinner remembered you do exist, and toss around ideas... and to just plain get silly with when your brain started going to mush (and learning some very odd things about fellow players - You know who you are, Hot Soda Man). I've been fortunate enough to be folded into the Blob many times over in the past, but this past week reached a wonderful new level.

As I'm foraging up things ponies may like to eat... I wanna comment on this because it's like.. amazing and I think you all need to know how awesome it is. Every area in Naidem has a different variety of ||coneflower||. All of them are gorgeous.. All of them are haunted. But I've gone into many different areas and each one has a different variety, different colors. There's even different colors/varieties spread throughout the same area. It's kinda intricate and someone obviously worked hard coding it. As a fellow programmer.. I see you. Good job you.. whoever you are.

I don't know that I have time to come up with a lot of nice fancy well-worded expressions but the fact that I'm posting is hopefully testament enough.
Ebons is always my favorite event (and Halloween my favorite holiday)
But staff has outdone itself this year!
With all the lores and storylines, major and smaller (ponies!)
The cooking contest and prizes were wonderful surprises!
Thanks to @scenic meteor for bringing me into that with @lofty needle @forest cliff and @ripe ginkgo we made a fantastic team!
To the staff: I absolutely love the cottagecore vibe of the Witch's Hut area! The luminary festival is also fantastic!

Kudos to Cheeri and all the Holiday elves this time of year! The spirit of giving is contagious and everyone I've talked to has been effected by it in all the little things all of you guys do. I kept hearing about people that are actively hiding presents, giving away thrakmas gems, setting up impromptu parties/dinners with giftbags, opening up their darkboxes with presents inside. I love how giving snowballs.. And honestly it's these little things, these tiny moments that make Elanthia feel almost real and I treasure it. Watching someone find something they didn't expect and get excited about it.. watching someone go out of their way just to make someone else smile. It's these moments that I fall even more in love with this game. Happy holidays ❤️

I just want to give a shoutout to Game Host Rosemunde - I put in an ASSIST because my gilded locus isn't working after the merge. Despite everything going on, she asnwered quickly and took the time to get all the information to pass on to a GM. it was a delightful interaction and I appreciate her help. Our artist Josh Stover does the art, Tivvy, Thandiwe, and I typically write text, I do the formatting, and then we send it off to one of our newest software developers to fix it up for the sending process. We did have a mixup on one line (there is a line about the golems from a previous mailer that shouldn't be there). And it looks like Outlook isn't happy with the HTML. We'll figure that out.

Jaired the Wyrm Hunter EXCEEDED Expectations!
I recently ~~hired~~ asked Jaired nicely for assistance slaying the wyrm in the Hinterwilds, and I must say, the man is a PROFESSIONAL.
Communication: 5/5 - Jaired responded promptly to my initial message and kept me informed throughout the entire process. Even when I was dead.
Wyrm-Slaying Skills: 5/5 - This guy knows his stuff! Jaired took down the beast with ease, minimizing damage to our ~~lives~~ ~~egos~~ overall experience with the wyrm hunt.
Equipment: 5/5 - Truly impressive. I can't decide if I like Cat or the sweater more. Probably Cat, he is a sweet boy.
Overall Experience: 5/5 - Jaired is courteous, efficient, and gets the job done! If you have a wyrm problem, look no further!
Would I recommend Jaired to a friend? ABSOLUTELY!
Would I ~~hire~~ ask Jaired for a hard carry again? IN A HEARTBEAT!

Another shout out to GM @fallow dawn and also to GM @fleet tiger who worked hard at saving the vast majority of my cooking system bag I accidently left on the ground and it was gone in the blink of an eye. It was one of the stupider situations I've gotten myself in lately.

Major props to all the baby GHs out there. You all have had to put up with lots of ASSISTs from me as of late.

Kudos to the folks who made this happen.

Maybe people know about this (and those dramatic drapery cloaks are just too good at DR) or maybe it's a little known secret but I am having a lot of fun between the "Shears Leatherworks" and "And Sew It Goes" designing cloaks for my little gang. My sausage maker is getting a whole new wardrobe themed around food crafting. There's a whole assortment of options between and playing off each of the two shops. This is my second visit to this fest so I am starting to figure things out.

I'm actually doing a sweep right now of older items that never made it to the wiki in their "full" capacity, but that's also why the official documentation header was updated to state that it's a guide that was published on the officials and may be (read: likely is) out of date with the current state of the game. @hexed mango and @harsh bronze both gave amazing workshops today as part of the Solhaven Grand Art Exhibit. Traiva hasn't caught the scrapbooking bug just yet, but Riend's lyricism in talking about ataela completely transfixed Traiva.

Also, huge kudos to everyone at Cairnfang Manor for another great Grand Art Exhibit festival, and to all the judges to had to judge the submitted entries.

This kudos is for GM Xeraphina, who has a deep and broad knowledge of GSIV and shares it a hands-on manner with the community in so many different areas. She's always stepping up to play air traffic controller to direct issues to the right channel, and one has the feeling that she's often monitoring to ensure things stay on track. Rules are part of what keeps a game fun, and her knowledge of them, and willingness to share with the player base, are part of what makes Gemstone continue to feel challenging, engaging, and as a result, fun: no rules, no game. I know that it can be difficult to be "the enforcer" because of the complex feelings and reactions it can elicit in others, but her willingness to fulfill this very difficult role comes from a place of love for the game and good will towards the players, and I sincerely appreciate that about her. Thanks for all that you do!

I just want to give props to Riend and everyone else who was involved in organizing the Plat/CHE/MHO mixer yesterday. There were 61 folks in the room at one point all hobnobbing and even though the screen scroll was a bit intense, I had a blast.

This kind of collaboration and community is what GS is all about, to me, and I'm so so so happy to see the Plat folks get included in such a welcoming, friendly manner.

You said this so much better than I possibly could. Watching everyone show up last night to support the Platinum folks meant so much, to them... to me. It reminded me how much this community cares and every one of you is so awesome.

We're tossing around ideas about expanding this, making it a series of town-based events (to cut down on scroll) and allow CHEs/MHOs to really talk about what they do and who they are... see if we can get more people interested in joining up.

Whoever made the perfumes in Opulent Elixirs at Mairiseth Telearat... I love and hate you at the same time.
I don't think I've ever before gone into a perfume shop at a festival and had to buy all of them. Until now.
And then I had to buy some of the jewelry, too, which almost never happens.

Also massive kudos to Alirasawaen (I hope my memory spelled that right) for the marathon basket-weaving and weavable altering and basket tweaking session yesterday afternoon. After working on them on Saturday night. I'm going to love using my first basket, and now I have a fun mission for the second 🐔

I've spent the past week working on outfits based around OTS clothing from the new shop inventories, using specialty design NPCs, along with the vast array of crafting tools we now have available and I have loved every moment of it. I just wanted to say a huge thank you to all the GMs behind providing so many avenues to create such amazing customized garments and accessories. It has reduced my alter wish list to almost nothing as I feel I can refresh Roh's wardrobe on a daily basis without waiting for a GALD merchant.

HUGE shout-out to the GMs who have been putting up festival shop inventories on the wiki before the festivals start - this has been an awesome change over the years. It's super helpful for the pay events when I have to budget RL money, but even for the silvers shops, this is great and creates a whole new level of excitement. (And eases a lot of anxiety. I like lower anxiety levels.)

I do not miss the days AT ALL when it was up to a player to run through the shops and pull inventories and prices and post them somewhere, and we didn't even know what half the things did until people were brave enough to buy them and test them out.

I forget who did it, but the GM(s) that did the HUGE work to revamp raffles has been my hero during Premium Festival. Getting the list of the raffles, the raffle guide to take me right there, and the ability to be offline for the draws (at a time when I had an emergency situation that made it so I suddenly didn't know my schedule) had me spending so much silver on raffles. And even though I haven't won any yet, at least I could have the chance.

I wanted to make a special thanks to Gizwizit for his wonderful RP and help on my galding. It was total last minute and they were so patient! My initial idea had some complications and they helped me not only fix it for parameters but, IMO, made it way better than my original idea.

I am very grateful to the wonderful team that makes this game so deep and beautiful! (IRL there are a lot of things going on and coming back from the late 90s has been just what my old heart needed to lighten the load)

GemStone ][ was released in April 1988 to GEnie customers. So, I need to do some major kudos here for all the help with getting Fizwixit's Wonderful Widget out there.

@boreal shore and @karmic bluff for amazingly quick QC both on the initial submissions and all my additions as I added a few features and all the room themes. Isten's patience and turnaround ability is awe-inspiring. @warm jungle as well for quick QC on the 'physical' aspects of this vault item and for going above and beyond while doing that and finding script errors the rest of us missed!

@restive vale , @modern smelt , @final nacelle , @narrow quest , and @steady sphinx for being beyond crazy amazing with the creation of room themes. I still have about a dozen to add; they are writing them quicker than I can format them for the script!

I want to give a HUGE shoutout to all the GMs who helped with the HW room we recently added. @narrow quest - For wrangling all the cats and helping work on this and putting up with allllllll the emails.
@modern smelt - For all the work she put into flavor messaging, design and the unique touches that really brought everything together. And also for putting up with emails ><.
@random current - For being a good sport and letting us add a little spot to his hunting ground, I hope you like it at least half as much as we do.
@shadow lark - Who I believe did the QC on this, that was amazingly fast and we're so grateful for the effort.

All-in-all, we got there and I appreciate all of your help on this. It's something I wanted to do to make the Wyrmslayers know how much they helped the community and keep a little piece of their history in GS. So thank you so much. ❤️

Would like to thank Siebarra today for her altering work. After not attending any merchant events in 30 years (on and off) due to nerves I decided to attend and see if she would be able to make something for me. Came out with two great alters that came even better then I expected. ```
a sapphire-set black felt pack

Stitched from a deep, velvety black cloth, the pack is adorned with a series of faceted wyrm's heart sapphires across its surface. Although each sapphire is vivid in hue, the variation in color, size, and cut gives a significant texture to the pack, which appears as if it has a constellation of lustrous, bright blue stars across its surface. These sapphires carry up to the pack's opening, where they are joined by deep crimson rubies and form a perfect gemstone circle topping the pack.```

Dyed a bright, pumpkin orange, the backpack resembles a large, back-worn pumpkin.  Radiant, gold-green auroral emeralds are set as the backpack's eyes, attached to flaps so that, as the backpack shifts, it looks as if its eyes are glancing about.  The mouth is made from leather stitchwork across the backpack's base and is set in a wide, upturned grin, with bits of cream-hued ivory as inset teeth. I'd like to give a shout-out to my personal Merchant Week heroes - Ghlum, Davro, Sonnora, Vaella, Igges, Indres, and Siebarra -- either I got work from you or you made sitting around hoping for work memorable enough to stick out in my semi-caffeinated brain. And it's always great to see Fenkleth and Jehckle around.

Also a big shout-out to Seynne for the culinary challenges! I have another custom diner's board I can't wait to use that came about through an incredibly memorable experience, and being flexible about the basketifier challenge so participants and judges wouldn't miss merchant-chasing time is greatly appreciated. For those of you who wanted to participate in these contests but didn't get picked this year, definitely try again next year! And to all of you scared to try to participate, don't be! It's a great way to strengthen and form friendships and really push the creative muscle, and if you get the right group, SOMEONE will step up to help with the presenting part; plus, everyone is super supportive heartpurple

Kudos to all the GMs. First time being dragged into EG and had a blast. The rooms are amazing the games and fishing were a blast. Yes they are simple but when in a fun group really made it feel like a county fair. Didn't get to merchant but the few I met were fun. The prizes I got from things were simple but memorable. Over all awesome. Maybe next year I will do the whole experience

She went above and beyond the Call of Duty, welcoming some people who otherwise wouldn't have gotten a chance to compete by we spending, and she and other competitors graciously let my team go first because we had two of us Hoover quite pressed for time. I gotta say, I've been watching people science spidering things - turning flowers into gems, and putting those gems into things, and using other spiders on gems, and weaving silly jewelry out of charms, and I have to give mondo kudos to everyone involved in building the spider house and spiders. I can only imagine it'll get better as Stuff ™ gets looked at to be added to spiderability. So thanks so much!

Kudos to the team who worked on the Festival of the White Star! Lots of thought and effort clearly went toward the descriptions of the area, and the portrayals of the Brughan & Mhoragian cultures. One Truefolk (and perhaps others) even found home! It's refreshing to see background options outside of Icemule fleshed out so convincingly.

I want to give a lot of love to all the GMs over the past few years who have worked on all our crafty and create-y goodies and systems. This holiday season I've received items made through knitting, the cooking system, the portable alcohol still and bottletraption, the cheese wheel, frosting tubes/tips, the papermaker, the jewelry smelter, the jewelry box... I feel like I'm forgetting something... And I've made gifts with the stovetop oven, jammy juicer, and the weaving system.... and with that made use of the baker's rack, vasculums, and gem bin, and the basketifier to help store food/drink I constantly use for flavoring. And my dye-n-ator has allowed me to stockpile multiple dyes to further personalize items. And Bugs On Parade/Life Aquatic/Jeepers Peepers birds, plus the flower press and hole punch. And now the spider apothecary boxes for even more customizing.

Yup, it's a lot. And it totally amazes me and makes me so happy.

I just want to say Happy New Years to everyone and offer an affectionate THANK YOU to all the GMs who make our little Elanthian world special. Thank you for creating such fun things for us to play with! Thank you for suffering long hours of merchant work and even thank you to the QCers (even tho you drive us crazy sometimes lol)! Thank you for all you do for the game but moreso, for the little things that put smiles on our faces. Sometimes the real world can be stressful and escaping now and then into our game world is just plain fun. Well most times when we aren't arguing over why you did THAT LOL. But know that this little Sylvan is very grateful -even if I get mad once in a blue moon (ONCE in a BLUE moon - remember that lol). And I have a feeling so are many others who populate Elanthia. I just want to give a shout out to Davro, who came to premium tonight and spun a few for work. I was lucky and got spun but I really hadn't refined my alter and he was so sweet and came up with just the perfect way to do it. (I am usually really ready but tonight my brain was absent lol). The announcements were hilarious, the monsterbold login skull struck just the right note of confusion for players without causing panic or anger, the cube was a nice touch, the RP in Solhaven was just right, the writing for the Zelian sisters was incredible... I have no idea who this kudos should go to, but I've been noticing that some of my veola/CC/DTHs that have pluralized versions of things (like bugs!) update to the correct pluralization of things (i.e <adjs> will be ladybugs or butterflies where necessary.)

I can't even imagine the work that goes into handling all of that, but it really helps not having to design around it.

So thank you, invisible pluralizing fairy, you are amazing. ❤️
