So basically I was exploring the astral biome to farm for some stardust and titan hearts, and then I've noticed that an actual meteorite landed on it instead of an astral star. Could this be a world gen bug or a really rare shot?

one meteor just fell on top of another
it sucks for your astral ore stocks tho XD

Yes I do have Infernum but there is no way it has something to do with astral biome

its not a bug

its just bad luck

what if it is a code error cuz the meteorite literally direct hit the star

ive had it happen to me before, just bad rng

#

like shade said nothing that prevents meteors from hitting astral

Dude I swear these meteorites always land on every single hole they see

#

well good thing about it, there is no meteor heads

This has happened to me in 2/2 calamity worlds I've made so far
I -really- don't think this is just an rng issue
maybe whatever logic 'picks' the location for the astral meteor doesn't reset the location for the next meteor?

they use the same logic to eliminate locations (no chests etc.)
so it's very possible for them to have a very very limited selection of places to choose from

#

it's definitely highly rng related tho, as i've literally never had this happen

like fluffy said, the meteors use essentially the same code so it makes sense they would tend to spawn in similar loactions

see that would make sense if I had, in either of those worlds, a high amount of chests or otherwise was blocking the surface, but it's an issue I've had every time in calamity and never in vanilla
and both times, it was the first and only meteorite that landed in hardmode

#

and it wasn't 'similar locations', it was 'exactly on top of the astral meteor location'

#

I can keep an eye out for my current playthrough in any case, but that's some ridiculous 'rng'

In my current playthrough I had 2 normal meteors fall in the exact same spot, and have never personally had the astral meteor on the normal meteor although I have seen plenty of reports

#

it is just rng
