I really appreciate that the bullet patterns actually have cohesive shapes. The phase one bullet patterns in old DoG were these chaotic messy crosses and weird scoops

And I hated them they didn't make any sense!

They look so ugly

Now it's consistently targeted crosses with parallel lines or grids with a single chaotic one that feels good because it's a series of desperate swipes

Also I vastly prefer the instant strikes because I always felt weird about how long the bullet hell projectiles lingered if you just ran away from them
