It's advertised as their biggest update but is kinda underwhelming. It has a shit ton of minor things, but it feels like it's missing the meat of the update if that makes sense.
Almost all of content is in the SSO, that will be available in another update
It's a good ammount of content but feels like just a side dish ig.
it may not contain a lot of brand new content, but it revitalises a lot of the mod's old and tired weapons and accessories, and refreshes them to bring them into the "meta" per-se
that and it includes two of the most significant boss reworks the mod has seen in years alongside a bunch of other boss changes across the board, not to mention a full mod rebalance
id consider brainstorm to be a major polish update in a lot of parts
I played cal during the 2nd biggest update (Draedon) and I can confidently say brainstorm is WAY bigger
did they add something interesting in the new update?
obviously something like food and drink particles aren't the main things people are looking out for but everything adds up

There will be crossplay between PC and Console for Terraria, but no tmodloader
crossplay would put so much more work on mod devs
the notion of having to account for other platforms with a mod like calamity is not one i think any of our programmers want to think about

I played calamity for the first time before the great melee rework, so most of my experience with it comes from that time.
But I've asked around on the discord since then and gotten the answer that summoner is king, melee is either weakest or 2nd weakest.
i always felt like "rogue is weak" is a psyop because it never felt particularly weak for me; i am easily getting 3-4 adrenalines during bossfights and chopping 20-30% of the total HP using stealth every single time
every accessory is silent btw

Silent does reduce your stealth damage by a bit just to lyk
Not too much to worry about pre hm but around golem or so lucky or warding makes a bigger difference for stealth rogue

Generally slower weapons have better stealth strikes, but also short ranged weapons like cosmic kunai, sometimes even fast weapons but that's less often
it reduces damage because easily spammable massive damage hits is a bad idea

Unstable Casters Gauntlet is probably one of the most unique patron/donor items I've seen since Drakovi's pole

Early hardmode has like 4 awesome mage wrapons
those have always been in my inv when i get them so its ok
and overall early hm has some great mage weapons
but pre hm sucks

That's just normal mimics drops, not hallowed mimics
so my hallowed mimics are registering as normal mimics
