terraprisma is in an awkward spot atm honestly. it's at the stage of progression where going all in on vengeful sun staff is still slightly better than terraprisma, while the plaguebringer goliath summons just outclass it completely

like, another change recently involved bosses now despawning out of biome instead of enraging which just... why?
only change I really don't get the logic behind. just let us fight harder versions of bosses if we want to
I find it egregious that certain bosses are even discouraged from being fought outside certain biomes at all but that’s just me.
The empress attacks are sometimes inconsistent too. It basically added 30 attempts to my nohit (1 hit). Not to mention the purple cultist attack is pure luck to dodge lol

i enjoyed boss enrage mechanics because it was like "ok, if you want to cut corners, you gotta prove yourself" and you get to fight harder bosses
in terms of choosing what attacks she does, it kinda does feel that way. for example, after her first attack, she either does sundance or ethereal lance, sadly i can't comment much on her lower half attacks since during her stage of progression, it only took me 59 seconds to kill her with summoner gear, not even pre lunar stuff
it was fun fighting daytime empress just because I could, but now you have to no-hit her and you have to do so for terraprisma which... sucks ngl
at least enraged desert scourge doesn't despawn, so that's fun
Wonder if I should do a M*lee playthrough, or an "only stuff reworked/added in 2.1" playthrough

I'm Malice mode's strongest soldier, I understand why it was removed but I will defend the mode until the very end
and the enraged boss AI is just what's left of Malice, so by extension, yeah

I fought her 100 times, her attacks are completely random second phase, sometimes egregious prismatic bolts that spawn too far from the empress. I think she has the cultist syndrome where all her attacks are too easy to dodge and one is pure rng

any summoners out there, if you get vengeful sun staff, GO ALL IN. it's better dps than its other options at that stage of the progression XD (also slightly higher dps than terraprisma for some reason when putting it against dummies)

oh, i just use the plantera arena for pbg, but depending on how good im feeling, i sometimes have to replace the entire background with diamond gemspark walls. it's genuienly hard to see the projectiles blending in with the environment if you're not used to the boss

so while looking for alternatives to ankh (thanks to the massive nerf asgard's got) it turns out that laudanum is now even more broken than ankh was
feels like 1.4.5 is harder. Took me 2 tries to beat ML
laudanum's always been kinda broken it just was unusable because you were immune to everything
its even more broken since it not only got that fixed (and asgards doesnt give immunity) but it now also nullifies cursed and silenced
He is in general more cramped and hasty. The rising up projectiles turn into inevitable cruise missiles, and the final part i can see defeated only through endurance
Imma be fr with you, death and revengeance ain't even all that different
they are very much, after doing a lot of testing
all i really did on the 2nd try was use stardust dragon instead of terraprisma

i can understand why, like, for example, Polter's dash should do a ton of damage

Rune Wizard contact damage is the strongest single attack in all of terraria
I was using it for more damage, but took it off for more defence
5% chance for attacks to summon a lightning strike for 3x damage
chance is reduced each time an attack hits so if an attack pierces for instance it's less likely on each pierce

a modifier to weapons from any class called heroic damage is being added, which will apply to any weapon that struggles against bosses, including most current true melee weapons

Ideally, Heroic Damage won't need to exist, because Bosses allow for consistent and engaging close ranged gameplay which makes them viable
I think that stems from an issue of true melee having little variety, almost all of em are 10 tiles or less until very late game when that is not how it is in vanilla, at least not entirely
It's more about Boss design than anything
That too, I think at the end of the day if bosses are designed around true melee being challenging, but reasonable, heroic damage would not be unneeded
