Yes, that was a very long time ago, and then they wasted time with Otherworld. There is hardly any information about Terraria 2, just a concept art of the world by red, but that was also about 4 years ago
its sad the big portion of the dev team left because of problems that (afaik) are fixed now

I think that was really the coolest thing when I first got into Terraria. You play, kill the WoF, and think you're the strongest, but no sir, suddenly so many strong enemies spawn and you feel like you've been reset, and then the new phase begins. I wish that would happen again during the progression, after Moonlord, but that would require more bosses, more biomes, and space would become tight, even on large worlds, although Calamity already makes good use of it

They buffed the space gun
And gave it a special effect
So it might be actualy worth using now
And also gave the same effect to laser rifle and made it inherit meteorite armor set effect
deerclops is really easy now with starcrash + ballista rod. You can get 3 ballistas with OOA gear, and starcrash is like firecracker where it does 2.33x damage (meteor+original hit), so you can kill Deerclops in 30 seconds

And also classes having distinct but broad playstyles would be my goal for a roots-like mod
the core idea of roots is to make weapons fall into one of a few types:
- Close ranged
- Long ranged, consumes Ammo
- Consumes Mana, does misc. things (range, high burst damage, etc)
yeah, it got updated in late 2023 to 1.4.4, and vanilla terraria 1.4.4 was realeased in late 2022
Class distinction in terraria is pretty nothingburger for lack of better terms id say

By "erasing class distinction" I specifically mean deleting the damage types of them so that gear can instead cater to specific playstyles or effects to make it unique instead of just happening to give different type of damage

- removes class specific damage
- reworks every class specific armor set besides Lunar armors
- makes Minions cost max mana to spawn beyond your minion slot cap
- makes "Projectile Melee" consume mana to fire the projectile. Without Mana, the sword still works up close
- reworks Mana Flower and all its upgrades.
- Reworks Fairy Boots
- reworks Angry Trapper and Man Eater ai
- reworks King Slime
- makes Ammo more scarce
- removes base regen but buffs healing potions

duke whip will go hard as a more universal weapon

If I were to make classes distinct I’d do this:
melee: can have projectiles, but are emphasized by low or no damage at range and high damage up close
Ranger: direct opposites increased damage at range
Mage: on and off attacking, doing absurdly high damage at any range but having a cooldown to regen mana, prioritizing finding opportunities to stay still to regen faster
Summoner: actually genuinely no clue. Perhaps a focus on weapon swapping?

Kind of a really vague question - There's pre-hm and hm enemies, alot of different enemies with different drops, and "useful" can vary alot depending on what exactly your playstyle is

I think all it was was a tad unintuitive with how weird the happiness system was. Now it's better explained (and more effects to artificially increase it) so id think it's even better happy locked rn

Like love potion as an example increases happiness for a bit
