Endings that tie everything together and recontextualize the entire show you just watched are my favorite. I know there's a few I've loved, but the big one that comes to mind atm is code geass. Tokyo ghoul has a ton of moments like these sprinkled throughout as well (I know the narrative was pretty repeatedly beaten in, but the Jason torture scene mirroring the entire show is one example) even if the ending wasn't amazing.

Since it's been in consideration that we'll be able to spare some bosses (like cnidrion and calclone) (not sure if the current scal counts ), I think another good candidate for this mechanic would be slime god
I mean, think about it. We only fight like three actual gods in the game (slime god, ravager and providence), and sg is the only one that can be considered "good" or at least lawful neutral, with him keeping his form from growing out of control and being revered as a paragon of balance. And with the theme of choices, if you'll be able to spare him this will probably be the biggest showcase (not sure what the right word is) that your path is different from Yharim's
