The way it works now is they alternate between flying out and staying close

Keeping the front I both felt looked better and encourages using it up close aggressively for more damage

which is the point - this is good at a distance but if you stay close it becomes significantly stronger due to the rev up and down both being able to hit enemies, plus the close hit

like how Igneous Exaltation rewards playing close with the spinning blades
