Clone and mech are separate beings (they are sort of brothers, both failed projects of draedon that need each other to function)

The mech grants clone protection and also aids her on what she isnt strong at, while clone provide energy for the mech to function with her magic

this is just my ideia for it, nothing settled or properly discussed yet (i also need to check the timeframe of stuff to see if this would work well) but the mech would be a very early project of draedon experimenting with sea and exo prisms, the alloys that were used to make the body of the mech were not able to properly endure the energy provided by the prisms, making it overclock itself and malfunction .
So basically while calclone is deemed a failure for not having magic and pretty much just being a normal person (not the magic battery draedon wanted), this guy is a failure for not being able to properly contain the energy provided by prisms, scal would have attuned clone to this failed prototype to aid her in the escape and both overtime bonded with each other due to their shared fate (the mech is p much taking the place of clone brothers, he would have proper personality and even talk and have infights with clone, instead of just silently fighting you while summoned and leaving like scal brothers )

it's very ironic how new DS is somewhat crocodilian in design and i always used a crocodile in a dry lake analogy to explain how DS was biologically the exact same as it was while the sunken sea was still fully intact and it didn't actually evolve and just adapted
