Truce of Honor: Noticing the player’s pure Melee/no-elixir style, Yharim pauses, allowing natural recovery and recognizing an equal.
Phase 2 (Symphony of Steel): Sword duel focused on parries. Mandatory Rod of Discord use, accepting damage as a mark of honor.
III. THE CLIMAX: Breaking the Silence

Having the option to spare him, and then having a conversation with Yharim at the end of the fight, wouldn't just end the cycle of death, blood, and war, but would signify the beginning of an era of peace, the end of a war that has lasted for many years. A beginning that doesn't start with an execution, but with redemption. But if the Terrarian kills Yharim, the Terrarian will simply become the next Yharim, continuing the cycle of death and war.
