Is Yharim’s current lore meant to be a parallel to the player character? I mean both of us are ordinary mortals who set out for some “goal” and by some cosmic miracle (Terrarian canonically first tries everything in Calamity lore) both of us keep coming across artifacts that make us stronger and stronger until we’re capable of killing deities, but underneath that armor we’re both still humans.

Rim whispers messages to the player trough out the game and explains the state of the world and a big part of the lore, it is believed that Rim "knows" he is going to die soon since at this point he has been a live for over a century and he knows he is soon to die and he wants the Terrarian to kill him.
