I like how much variety the design of gods have, from the ones that are very openly humanoid looking, to the ones that seem to be more of a inbetween, looking somewhat humanoid but with some clear inhuman traits, and the ones that just look way more abstract or feral

then there's john sacrifices whos still fairly humanoid but also has alot of clearly intentional less human elements to him
and then there's stuff like providence or slime god that do not look human in the slightest

like its just a nice variety

Clearly there's some sort of requirement or condition for you to keep your human form as a god so i wonder what it is

The first thought that comes to mind is losing your sense of humanity and becoming more of a monster since Providence isn't human at all and she's Really Evil and then Silva and Otonilou are both like, very kind people who keep their forms

But that is contradicted by John Sacrifices who's also supposedly a really kind man who is far less human than they are, and Slime God, who i don't think is a good guy but judging by his appearance and this theory he'd have to be like, even more fucked than Providence, which, chief i don't think that's the case 😭

So i don't think its based on if ur a good person or not necessarily

Maybe it has to do with losing who you were as a person

Like, a god that remains mostly the same probably acts more or less the same they acted prior to ascending and their personality and ideals wasn't drastically affected by their domain

Someone who looks nothing like how they used to look has had their personality and ideals drastically morphed by their ascencion, perhaps a result of the dragon's original soul influencing theirs

You could argue that last quote hints at it which fair but i don't think it's concrete enough to confirm, it might be more of a symbolical thing. “The world is without guidance, and its people are filled with darkness.” seems to hint that Providence wanted to establish herself as somewhat of a guiding figure for the people even if she probably would've done it in a very self-righteous and holier-than-thou way, regardless of whether already Omnicidal or Not

Like i sorta imagine Providence initially being less of a omnicidal maniac and more of just like, a murder hobo paladin if that makes sense
