The worlds soul breaks, these shards give dragons a special soul referred to as an auric soul, these allow these dragons to be reborn into a new life after dying from the auric dragon of rebirth yharon, the auric dragons rule the world for possibly thousands of years until moonlord attacks

The behemoth beyond the stars almost destroys them all but the dragons had cut the titan in half, cracked its skull open torn out many organs and trapped it on the moon saving the world, but they werent without casualty for it had permanently killed some and one of these would be the dragon king, the auric dragon of primordial light zeratros if xeroc their dragon monk hadnt intervened but due to zeratros’ condition getting worse no matter what xeroc decides to make the ascension ritual, a ritual that would completely absorb and kill the auric dragons soul but gift the ascending person a unspecified amount of power and if done perfectly the dragons domain, and so xeroc ascended into the first god, the god of primordial light

News of xerocs ascension spreads and over the course of time every remaining auric dragon is hunted and used to ascend with only one other known deity doing the ritual good enough to get the same domain being silva the elemental of nature, first dryad and goddess of life

Draedon is somehow made in a underground tundra 2 hundred ish years after xeroc ascends despite no one else reaching industrial revolution

7 centuries after gods came to be the last auric dragons egg (yharons) is brought to someone on request of multiple unknown gods, to make a god king

This guy takes the egg and tries to escape but gets caught by some worshippers of these gods and gets thrown into lava along with the egg, yharon hatches from the egg quicker thanks to the heat from the lava and saves the guy from dying to lava, this guy then renames themselves to yharim as their bond with yharon grows and so does their hatred of all gods (not just the pricks that threw them in lava)

Yharim starts their war against the gods (this war being called the crusade), early on in the crusade yharim had gained strong allies like the largest and oldest city called azafure and an ancient mage who we know as permafrost to help kill gods, the early gods killed were improperly disposed of and so their corpses festered into the crimson and corruption, upon seeing these biomes form yharim had got azafure to make a solution to this which was the wall of flesh, a barely living flesh monstrosity immune to the essence of slain gods and so was used to contain all future god essence until DoG came into the picture

At some point early on while mid crusading draedon had confronted yharim, their deal would be that draedon would get any and all materials needed to do science and that draedon would do their science in subjects that would help further the crusade succeeding, such advancements made are things like all the arsenal gear, a pair of robotic eyeballs controlled by the dead souls of yharims spies and assassins designed to let them spy and assassinate people even after death, a flying shock soldier fuelled by shock troops who would target and kill civilians with things like fire and with this were able to continue so in death and a repurposed giant mechanical digging machine fuelled by godseeker knight souls which let them fight in death, and much more

Another ally yharim gets is the dragon cult, a cult dedicated to keeping up the spell that the auric dragons made that kept moonlord on the moon

After so many gods died and the crusade had been going on for decades a new “ally” had appeared to yharim, a interdimensional nameless giant serpent that can devour gods and seemingly erase their essence, this being was given armour made of a metal from their home “dimension” and so the devourer of gods was armed with their cosmilite armour made by draedon, though they didnt just try to eat gods and follow orders they also supposedly pushed yharim to be worse

so at the start there was this big dragon that controlled the sun

Around this time yharims neglect seemingly started to get worse, neglecting not only the prisoners but also the wardens and soldiers in the dragon cults dungeon, this resulted in many dying from thirst and hunger and eventually almost everyone in the dungeon had died, and their restless enraged souls haunted the dungeon, some possessing the bones left by them but most had congealed into one singular monstrosity, polterghast wrecked havoc and required the dragon cult to push it to a calmer state by giving it a fake human ish body, due to this monstrous fuck up the dragon cult had split up with yharim

In azafure their matron the brimstone elemental had awoken, flames and destruction had risen as she did and nothing was seemingly able to stop her until a single preteen had come to rival her, moments before the supreme witch calamitas was a normal person and now was trying to stop the elemental from destroying the city though fire vs fire results in more fire and so in the end neither side could win and azafure was burnt anyways, scal was brought to yharims court and thanks to permafrost recognising that she had more mana then was reasonable for anything to have had told yharim of this and she was accepted into yharims army at like 13, scal quickly became yharims ace and last resort, easily destroying anything she was sent to end while getting mentored by permafrost who became a stepdad of sorts to her

Illmeris was a kingdom ruled by gods close to azafure that had stayed relatively fine thanks to being underwater and having a electricity goddess protecting it, scal was sent to deal with the entire kingdom and in just a few days of no stop endlessly blasting the kingdom had utterly destroyed the place, not even water remained where the kingdom was with only the very bottom away from the kingdom had been left safe from the witchs destruction, as years passed and her sins had come back to haunt her yharim had sent her to kill her adoptive dad (permafrost) because he left yharims side, to keep him alive the now young adult witch had trapped him in ice made to look like a construct of permafrosts gone rogue but shorty after this the witch had also left

Draedon was tasked with replicating the power of the witch because her power was extremely valuable to the crusade, draedon had decided to do one thing before this and it was to make technology that could control life and this was inspired by the mech bosses being technology controlled by souls, draedons attempts resulted in the nano plague, a robot virus capable of infecting and controlling living things infected with it and the first test subject was a bee queen, yharim saw this and due to seeing slavery as something only gods would stoop down to they immediately cut ties with draedon and in a rage had accidentally broken the plagued queen bee which eventually became the plague bringer goliath

Draedon did eventually try replicating scals power, by replicating scal but her power isnt her own so the clone was but a normal person but one day scal had come and broke the clone out of containment and suddenly this clone had a fraction of the true witches power (the clone is genetically successful, draedon didnt fail it was just that her power doesnt come from her so the clone didnt get any until meeting scal)

The brimstone magic had slowly turned the clone violent and insane due to the mental damage brimstone can cause

Due to most of the crusades big players leaving progress had slowed to a halt, at some point yharim was jumped by statis and braelor, two of the strongest god worshippers known to us, together these two had nearly struck down and killed yharim but last second the Devourer of Gods had come and sent them to the distortion saving yharim, through a deal with signus one if them got to escape at the cost of an arm and leg literally, though braelor the champion of silva was still stuck in the distortion

Thanks to the near death experience yharim had gone through months ago they went back to draedon to get their new exo tech, draedon due to being a purely scientific being held no grudge and gave yharim exo technology boosted auric armour and since then has been in the dragons aerie for a few months

Draedon since then has been making a pair of mechs inspired by the older mech bosses, the sole purpose being to make something that can rival yharims own power and the product is the exo mechs, these did rival yharim though yharim has grown since then and so they only rival scal

Ok we are up to when the game takes place

After the wall of flesh dies deus takes a bite out of a infected star and gets infected by the astral infection and chucks it at the planet, draedon investigates this with aureus which despite the thick plating it was consumed by the astral aswell

Yharon fights us to try and make sure we dont reach yharim and kill them

Scal sees our path as close to yharims own path and attacks us thinking we are yharim 2
