with enough power, or perhaps power of a specific type, even a celestial barrier such as this could be shattered by earthly force
again, no real sign of this being a thing in cal, but i just love the idea of characters both literally and figuratively transcending the limits of the earth and reaching towards something greater

the first and second paragraph (ignoring the first line) share too much between them imo
to a degree that's intentional, since i was trying to draw a parallel between its actions and the pain that fuels them, but i think it goes overboard in that regard by just reusing so many words
also the second paragraph feels like it does not flow AT ALL. each sentence (including the stuff after the semicolon as its own sentence) could be the start of its own, separate paragraph. that's not necessarily a bad thing but it's not good in this case imo
