Well, I haven't read Lost World yet, but that's never said on the book, only loosely implied
The dinosaurs obviously are different from how they were, but that's mostly because the book is from 1989 and the true appearance of a few were still being debated
They do mention how there is no way of knowing if they are actually like the dinosaurs from 65 million years ago, and some of the spliced DNA obviously gives them some weird properties like being able to change sex and whatnot
But like, they aren't horribly disfigured, at most they have some quirky properties or differences in behavior
