One last note here: there's also the fact that both bosses have a prominent belching ability when out of water, which is probably a big part of how the DS got its hunting license back (I'd know, I died to it way too many times in prehardmode with my terrible arena 😭) but also implies that, considering both only use it to the degree they do out of water (need to check again for the AS on that but it's 7 AM here lol), that could also be put in the "they were probably at least somewhat amphibian, at least in the near past" bin
