if you wait until later on to do it you will naturally get less mileage out of it
if you do fishron at the very start of hardmode, you'll get Really Strong Gear until you get to post-Golem, where the gear will merely be Good
if you do geldon where it's intended you get Really Strong Gear until you get to wherever in progression geldon would no longer be an immense challenge, and if you had done the fight at that point the gear would merely be Good
the later you do it, the less of a jump in power it'll be

And they almost fucking killed him
But DoG ambushed them
resulting in them getting sent to the distortion (still alive
this event seemingly got Yharim's morale so hurt that he was in a state of enough desperation to head back to Draedon's lab, whom he had not talked to in ages due to the PBG incident
And asked him to upgrade his armor
Also Statis got out of the distortion
thanks to a deal with Signus
