deep sea creatures don't have exactly the best eyesight but they're not necessarily blind - Infact alot of them have particularly large eyes specifically to try absorbing as much light as possible to see better, though given there's still barely any light down there that still amounts to them not exactly having great vision

A deep sea bottom-dwelling ambush predator is a interesting concept, but realistically i'm not sure entirely how feasible it would be because it's hard to find any enviroments in real life where it'd be sucessful

But at the same time somewhere like the abyss it might be plausible

Bottom-Dwelling animals in real life abyssal habitats tend to conserve energy as much as possible and have a very passive lifestyle, they tend to usually be scavengers or have some other, low-energy cost form of eating (like with how yeti crabs are known to basically live off steam vents by filtering small organisms from them with their arms) buttt since in the abyss the actual bottom area of the sea is alot more lively than in real life with actual large animals and a much more active food chain

Since being a active predator in deep waters is alot more viable in the abyss, you don't have to be as sedentary and because of that animals probably adapt to pay a bit more attention to their enviroments (Even if they had poor vision they'd probably still be able to distinct a large animal next to them) sooooo

my conclusion is reaper shark ambush predator is probably plausible but it's probably not have to put as much effort in hiding itself as like, a octopus or a frogfish

humans were actually still strong, im pretty sure they can actually take down a lot of dragons, the issue just reached... theres an insane amount of dragons so humans cant even outnumber them

they can also

revive themselves

pretty sure tho, like the top 500 humans could take down dragons, top 1 might even give some dragon in the top 5 trouble considering how far calamitas reached on her own

i wouldnt be surprised that even before fovos, dragon slaying was still a job

just a hard and rare one

as tyrant dragons did exist
