oh lmao
some modded weapons, especially ones that give you multiple buffs when you summon it, still have issues. Like kifrosse from the stars above, when you die it still keeps the summons but there is no buff icon which allows you to summon a second one (it uses all minion slots normally)

1 shot mode is now part of nycro's nohit proficiency mode; malice challenge item you have to replay old version of the game (since suggestion to revert is prohibited), or you can just get them right now, they still exist just not as powerful (though different acquisition method); evasion scarf upgrade will be kinda pointless (and overpowered)

you need a valid reason as to why it needs an upgrade
an actual functionality similar evasion scarf but late game level will unironically be extremely overpowered
you can use evasion scarf on scal and it likely will work

including GSD, counter scarf don't even work even if you use it to bonk contact damage

dog has always been an enigma
on surface it's the most praised boss but when people play it there are problems

I thought I was the only one but then I saw Phantasm's stream where he had to cheese it while literally beating every other boss with true melee - in expert.
So i wasn't the only one who thought Expert DoG was harder than expert Yharon, Exo mechs, etc

Doesn't DoG just do a catchup thing if you're far away? It's nasty but not too bad to avoid. I think it happens in all modes

I think I found 'the issue' I have. Look at these damage numbers from the 1.5 patch notes:
"Increased phase 1 head damage from 250 / 500 / 550 to 300 / 600 / 650 / 680.
Increased phase 2 head damage from 300 / 600 / 650 to 350 / 700 / 750 / 780."
Expert is literally double normal but almost the same as revengeance

although I am unsure how many people use long platform for DoG, not necessarily nohit world level, like 10+ row super platform, but just like 1-2
rev and death tend to actually not increase damage number by too much
Expert in vanilla is basically x2 dmg, which caused that

Mostly it's in the second phase where when you dodge he follows your dodge

oh that one, to put it simply DoG now is much more capable of doing sharper turn, you basically have to tilt him much more before dashing
it is basically just a slight adjustment you have to make and you will be fine
I think it's due to lack of practice. I've beaten MMFTW before without cheesing, but it's because I had 1400+ hrs and knew the patterns. Calamity's just new for me

DoG one I think is just straight up the body and tail don't have a hitbox after teleport (as in, you literally cannot hit it)

the one you are suggesting right now is basically "if I hit head I can't hit body/tail", DoG is "only head can be hit, other part is straight up invincible"
If all worm segments share the same iframes it will completely make AoE kind of pointless

iirc climbing claws are pretty common from crates anyway
even if you don't find them from exploration, you'll probably find them just by fishing up crates for other loot

currently you can craft hermes boots immediately with items from starter bag if you acquire like 50 spider webs and some wood
That was originally because early game movement sucked ass but we added another questionable solution to that since then
buffing the player's base movespeed
actually, the fact that a lot of the items from exploration/fishing can be crafted is kinda weird
items like band of regen and shoe spikes really should have renewable ways to obtain them i feel, regardless of the fact that they're much more accessible now with the early game fixes, especially when they're part of massive trees
some stuff like lava charm makes sense, since you can't fish it and it's really rare in 1.4 fishing anyway
I think fishing is a vanilla fail safe, but ya them being craftable is a bit weird, or redundant, with the new movement system
but things like ice skates don't make much sense
unless they were changed in 1.4
i still dont get why only claws are fishing obtainable
although I do think those items being craftable still have benefits, because it prevents the unlucky situation that the player just cant find it (which sometimes happen), just ya, higher cost

I'd argue Arkhalis' hype comes from its unique attack style in vanilla moreso than the rarity but the rarity does enhance that

I wouldn't mind a more consistent arkhalis but I'd prefer bringing say, mycelium claws to its level
arkhalis when 1.4 added a weapon that was literally completely identical but green and with slightly less damage
iirc that was just because they wanted to make it part of a developer set

I get having rare items in games and those items being hype beacuse of their rarity, but it is strange to see things like the Blossom Flux be moved from 1% in revengeance drop to malice drop to 10% drop while the Arkhalis is kept rare.

legendaries are also on a comedically different branch than arkhalis

the 1% rev drops drop rate sucked because iirc they were actually really good
arkhalis doesn't look extremely powerful to me
although i've never gotten it so idk
Don't know if it received the same sauce as other pre-HM true melee weapons in 1.5, but I'd imagine it's outclassed by Blade of Grass entirely in pre-boss, both of em being similarly hard to get at that point
Arkhalis is basically a nice beginning weapon to shread monsters
(got it from the first ever cosmic elemental in a world twice)

Arkhalis is just one of those neat little rare weapons you might come across
I personally believe it doesnt need to be touched at all in terms of obtaining
If it ends up performing similarly to other on-tier true melee weapons, it could do with either a buff to justify the rarity or to not be rare in the first place. If it doesn't have the power to back up its rarity it goes from "really hype to get" to "oh that's neat, trash it". Gonna have to test it against some early bosses and compare to stuff like Blade of Grass

i actually kinda agree with the arkhalis suggestion
although I think the recipe should be locked to hardmode

my concepts for a true melee mage multiclass armor and a movement-based mage armor: 
They need more items that add effects to mage weapons
Rouge needs more armor, it can't even use multiclass armor
i kinda want to make a sugg to rework how rogue stealth is enabled
so that you can use multiclass or classless armor
but idk how to handle it
it would be cool if there was a buff that increases max stealth
Also stealth regen is either perfect or awful depending on the boss you're fighting
If you can take a break for a moment and sit still, it's great
If the boss is 'run in a straight line always' (WoF), then its godawful
this is in no way true
you are absolutely never required to remain still to properly use stealth and even then all fights do have moments where you can stay still for a second or two of faster regeneration
3 times slower steath regen is still a lot, considering stealth rouge is far better than spam
Perhaps WoF was a poor example, but it does depend on the phase and usually phases where you can regen stealth are easier to dodge
It also depends on your playstyle
And the weapon
For example, using a shorter-range weapon against slime god will make you take triple-digit damage in a matter of seconds if you sit still for too long

If you have to resort to using Zerg Potions to farm enemies, that's a good sign the drop rate of the original accessory item is too low. You can either approach it by making the item freely craftable, or you can alternatively do what Neko suggested (buffing the drop rate)

Not really, the spawnrate of jellyfish are highest in the ocean, and there's generally only ever 3 jellyfish every 10-25 seconds
It sounds like a fair amount, and it would maybe be for a 1/50 drop chance (2%) but not a 1/100 drop chance (1%)
maybe hardmode biome jellyfish could drop it at an increased rate?
although idk how much harder they are to kill than normal jellyfish

Consider: the only enemy I know of that drops a Jellyfish Necklace in the Abyss is the Mirage Jelly, at an equal 1% drop rate

You can swap sponge or CotbG and get heart.
You can also use other accs like Spectral veil, Evolution and Bloodflare core for defensive. Theres also darksun ring, affliction, community and Gift, good stat sticks

with a strong defensive buff like that, it is either you take 0 damage (making the accessory super inbalanced/invalidate bosses) or it is straight up unusable (don't have enough defense, stand still get destroyed)
just personally I will rather it not reduce damage but the defensive buff is also weaker, so that it is more usable other than niche/specific build

@wheat ocean the purpose of the starter bag is, as stated, just to allow you to start as a specific class, it does not necessarily is meant to be extremely viable
otherwise mages will have started with a diamond staff instead of an amethyst staff
all the other weapons in the bag work fine as starter weapons
its just the squirrel squire staff i feel has this issue
you are meant to use the starter weapon to get onto the next weapon, not necessarily to use it for extended period of time

I think squirrel squire staff is more of the fact that summoner is balanced for 2 minion slot at the start as otherwise summoner will immediately double in power after wulfrum, so the problem is more with summoner not having access to 2nd minion slot sooner than squirrel squire staff itself
Plus I would hate everyone if it was replaced with Slime Staff, that thing is broken, as in it doesn't work properly.
tbh I will really hope the starter bag just give an item where "if you have only 1 minion slot, this accessory grant the 2nd minion slot" in the starter bag, just so summoner is playable before wulfrum armor

also this do not work, as long as you have solar armor you can only have solar dash that get disabled when you dont have shield (no matter if have dash accessory or not), only way is to use beetle and equip a dash accessory
the problem is less with the fact that solar dash sucks compare to other dash accessory, it is more with the fact that solar dash can be disabled

I have not tested with meteor shot in years so I will decline to make a statement on how well they perform together
the three types of immunity frames, which apply only to piercing weapons:
global immunity is per-player, and affects all other piercing projectiles. both you and your friend can use slime staff on the same target, but having two slimes on yourself is not nearly as helpful
static immunity is per-projectile: only one stardust dragon on your server can hit a target at a time, no matter how hard you try, however, any other projectile will hit no problem
local immunity is per-projectile instance: this is very rare in 1.3, so I will resort to my 1.4 explanation of meteor shot minishark actually working now. before it was global, so it would not work.

long waits are still long waits no matter when you do them

if you do it through the game you can use the time for other things so it doesnt really matter

they are expected to know about DS via some sources and therefore explore the sunken sea
and even then theres the other 4 labs + the seeking mechanisms
although since a devs do confirm on the actual reason that suggestion is get denied, I guess there is a slight chance charge get remove?

Bosses are immune to debuffs because it doesn't make any sense for certain things to be poisoned or lit up on fire

What about eidolon furniture, eidolon stuff is very visually pleasing with its color scheme and concepts while there are eidolon building blocks (sold from jelly prestress) and eidolon walls (made from said blocks) , there is no actual themed eidolon furniture or lighting which i think would be a good edition for the building aide of the community, i tried making an eidolon themed build however due to the lack of furniture everything except walls and blocks were made using stratus furniture
there are already 2 abyss furniture sets, and also the eidolic slab block is a calamity's vanities thing

I think it's "Calamity's Lost Themes", could be something else though (I have four music mods with "Calamity" in the name right now and it would be a hassle to see which one does it)
also just found out that Trinity's main swing blocks its own projectiles from hitting reliably
I would imagine a lot of "classic shortsword/broadsword" style weapons have similar problems with immunity
inferna cutter's sparks also prevent it from being remotely usable as a weapon
probably for the best since it seems to do absurd amounts of dps once you start missing the sparks
but if you hit the sparks it is unusably bad thanks to their low damage and the permanent immunity clash

Honestly I think it's a neat concept! I can see this working decently well as a pre-hardmode option (after some tweaking) before you can assemble the full heart and then combining the two somewhere near the end with powered-up versions of these.
