Venerated Locket is like
ass wtf
its design lends itself to a really unstable balance

what do you think of making draedon labs
inaccessible based on what your last decrypted schematic is
so you actually have to explore and not hoard all the schematics you found in prehm
that will be extremely annoying, depend on what makes it "inaccessible"
just make tiles unbreakable and instakill if teleport
unless calamity plan on going super plot heavy (like how mod of redemption make an entire indestructible lab) makign it completely unbreakable is probably not preferable
probably can add more plot elements, but I think thats about it, since the discovery will be much more linear
because
- solves the issue of not getting the schematics in order
- finding everything prehm and then not having to find any labs for the rest of the playthrough is boring
but I think main concern is still having 5 randomly indestructible structure in the world that the player cannot access until way later (dungeon and temple is only 1, here you have 5)
yeah tbf the dungeon is enourmous in comparison to any other structure in the game
granted, its one of the earliest structures unlocked
then if that is acceptable then move onto the second topic, reason for the change? other than basically delay lab discovery

since to my knowledge it is actually the exact opposite, where most player only try to get all 5 labs at post-Yharon
i stumble upon all labs when exploring in prehm
they dont bother to get to the lab (except one that just run into)
space is very likely, underworld depend on how much you expand hell arena, others actually have some random element (to naturally discover)
this way you also dont have to bother "adding references to the previously unlocked schematic" because youll go in order anyway so that problem is solved
ice is ok since the biome is rather small (at least not massive), I cannot find jungle most of the time and sunken sea can be rather random, as sometimes a massive sunken sea is generated
i know many people who rush ice lab for the item in the chest, and usually youd want to get ssea, jungle, ice and hell labs for their locked weapon gear
ive found all of them just randomly in a lot of pt's ive done in 1.5
I just think suggesting the change purely to delay discovery is not a very strong reason
sky lab is usually rushed for the materials as the immediate first thing you do as you spawn

idk i think locking labs is a better solution than just referencing the previously unlocked schematic

i can see the reasoning to make it more of a progressive gameplay thing rather then something you will just do immediately out of order
for me at least it must have some plot element for the lab being locked to at least make sense (or in another word "worth it")

locking labs also makes it less boss rush, albeit only a little bit
i will suggest this later since this wasnt an immediate shutdown so far 
tldr (just my opinion), I think the idea definitely can work, but probably not only to make schematics obtainable in order but also for another reason (not necessarily have to be plot, that is just an example)
(and rushing schematics kinda depend on person, since there are also people who don't bother with it till exo, or don't even know they exist)

there was a discussion before for buffing ninja gear but it basically went "make it scuffed valor/aegis make the accessory less unique/distinctive"
basically instead of the lots of advantage you get for valor/aegis, ninja gear is better (much better) at moving away from boss/attack, mainly for kiting from the bosses
but only just at it
since it was super hard to decide what actual buff (to the dash notably) ninja gear needed, I focus the suggestion more on making ninja gear worth using than to give it unique buff

also the suggestion kinda has false information since you can replenish astral ore with astral slimes (and it is impossible to mine astral ore before deus which will make astral slime drop ore)
it's kinda a fair sugg but to me it would be pretty redundant, cos there's already a renewable source of meteorite (astral crates) and astral ore (fishing, astral slimes, beating aureus and spawning another meteor)

well, astral solution exists, so making clentaminator stuff has been done in calamity
so surely it would just be a case of adding meteorite to the list of blocks that it can convert

I think specifically for herb replanting it is actually not much of a time save (or issue)
replanting herbs is not exactly the hard part, the hard part is to acquire the necessary amount of herbs to constantly supply potions (along with other materials), assuming no alchnpc/luiafk infinite duration potion is used
so probably something like make herbs grow faster will be more direct at accomplishing what you want? not sure

Herbs do still need a buff as in my eyes, NPCs and blood orbs both make herbs obsolete.
If breaking them also replanted / reset them, thats half the effort you have to put into herbs every time you farm them
Money farming isn't hard and the potions you can't buy are all fishing gated so herbs get no time of day there.
I mean maybe, just that replanting is not exactly the issue
the issue is that unless you have a massive herb farm (like 100+ for each herbs) you can easily run out of herbs
considering some herbs only bloom at a weird time (eg: deathweed only at full moon and blood moon)
No more having to select each seed in inventory and then replant, its just done. Makes it much much more convenient.
Currently harvesting herbs is an annoyance imo.
I have to take out the item, harvest, replant, put away item, delete spare seeds.
With that, it'd just be take out item, harvest, put away item.

I'm almost in hardmode atm (only WoF left) in my playthrough, 2 player multiplayer, malice mode.

If we bought the potions every time, we'd be broke super fast. Just did the math, it'd be 49 gold each fight!! After hoarding cash all game, no reforging

I still find herbs mandatory at this stage in the game
Will concede on the blood orbs, bit of a bitch to get a lot of before the end of the game, but money farming has not been an issue for me. Especially now that boss items aren't consumables
Multiplayer+Malice is also really extreme conditions
personal opinion but I just think potion buying should not be too forced into the game
currently herb farming is so inefficient that you probably need at least 50 (most likely 100) of each herb to efficiently supply your boss attempts
and also herbs do help with non-vanilla potion so not exactly irrelevant
considering not everyone can first attempt all bosses, even on lower difficulty herbs consumption can be quite high on each failed attempt
In a fairly ordinary run, being singleplayer rev, the potion costs are super managable. Multiplayer AND malice exponentially increases those costs by introducing another goon to juice up and having them die significantly more often thus needing more buffs
Though the suggestion of faster herb growth is also a suggestion, they already grow fairly fast - improved yield would be more pertinent imo.
That way you'd get improved total herbs, without having to micro manage farming herbs more often.
maybe, to me herb growth is a bit random, sometimes they don't grow for 5 days sometime they grow 1 stage like 1 min after planted
I haven't needed a massive herb farm, but I have been tending to it fairly often, and been conservative with potions overall.
Blinkroot is the most annoying - unlike other herbs the bloom timing for each one is different
^ regarding potion buying my opinion is still this, I vaguely remember convo (not sure if is devs) about potion buying being somewhat of a temporary measure before a better potion/herb acquisition method is introduced
so I think there is no harm in buffing herb farming which can be rather inefficient right now (and exponentially so with higher failed attempt, so inefficient herb farming is explicitly very new player unfriendly)
considering there are also combination potion like yharim stim and cadance potion which requires large amount of herb per potion
Another herb farming tool I just though of would be a seed planting tool - let you replant your seeds easier.
It would automatically switch to the seed type of the planter you're placing on.
You'd be able to break every herb type, and then replant them all in the correct place w/ auto place, all in one go.
Currently I have to break one type of herb, then replant, then move onto the next one. This would eliminate that.
There are just so many possibilities for improved farming.
If there is already planned improvements for herbs, I very much look forward to it.
I also changed my suggestion post again - broadened its scope of improvements somewhat based on our discussion.

i've honestly never needed a farm bigger than 15 tiles per herb
and herb growth can be a bit weird, as in inconsistent, some common herbs like daybloom are fine but things like deathweed can be rather hard
depend on how many potion is used, if you are to use most of them 50 is likely what you need (or 100 if many failed attempt)
they bloom during a full moon or a blood moon
ya it is a lot better now that blood moon relic is inconsumable, previously it was wait full moon (I forgot if Cosmolight advance moon phase)
either toggle to a full moon with cosmolight or a blood moon with a blood relic

i understand that potion farming can be repetitive but if you're still needing ways to speed up the process when the mod spoonfeeds you an entire farm pre-boss, a simple lowering of the difficulty would reduce the farming a lot
or just expand the farm outwards, the only limit to how big a farm can be is the world size

i think the worst herb, worse than deathweed, is shiverthorn. it blooms so, so, SO rarely
it was fixed in terraria 1.4 but you don't get 1.4 changes yet unfortunately

in a progression way, making the feathers easily achieved elsewhere would pretty much remove any reason for DFolly to exist
as most of the weapons it drops could very well just be random crafts / drops elsewhere

calamitas is mentioned in Amidias, CClone, i believe Permafrost mentions her atleast once, and is related to the lore of the Brimstone Crags and the Desert (former sea)
its possible the crags will make note of her more when they get reworked

Make some more Hearts of the Elements-like accessories
Now that the relic stones can't be fused together, I often just find them taking up space, and not worth using in general. Many of accessories in the previous HotE crafting recipe are not useful because every slot can make the difference in harder difficulties. Perhaps the non-waifu summoning relic stones could be made into some sort of combined accessory. However, this doesn't entirely solve the problem since there are two elementals that never really go anywhere. The Earth Elemental and Ice Golem don't drop accessories that summon them, and I think they should. The Earth Elemental is already designed, and if the Sand Elemental gets two accessories, the Ice Golem should at least get one. Additionally, not everyone wants to look at waifus, including me.
Unless you're a summoner, the entire Heart of the Elements lineage is not very useful,

So I had an idea for the aotc and galaxia rework
I love the new rework but some aspects of the previous swords get lost along the way
So my idea was to have a hot key added for galaxia that cycled through 2 new “passive” atunements that didn’t make it along with the other 2 we have already. So we have the healing one from the sanguine fury and the projectile blast one from sword smiths pride, but we’re missing the meat hook from lamentations of the chained. So we could have a meat hook type thing that spins around the player And for the mercurial tides one I think should get reworked completely but whatever. That would do basically the same thing with roughly the same chances
And obviously all of these could work with any of the 4 main atunements and have a chance to trigger them
I’m looking for feedback and all before I start making the suggestion

That’s unfortunate cause this was only part one reworking galaxia to have the little passives still be choose able, but that makes enough sense
The second part was to give aotc 4 new combos which relate more to the 4 atunements of galaxia
They would still have the parry and all
The current combo would still exist as a sort of average or “all” atunement
For example the Phoenix pride combo would be more focused on the projectiles and the arcing swings going all the way behind the player
The Aries wrath combo would be more focused on the chain based extension not too sure how it could be a “combo” but I’ll think of something
The Polaris gaze combo could be more focused on quick stabs or dashing similar to the ghastly rapier atunement from the biome blade this one could also have a focus on releasing the weapons similarly to sanguines fury in the true biome blade
The andromedas strife combo could be more focused on charging the dashes and sending shockwaves with the charge
These may not be too great but it’s also 10:40 pm where I am so my brain is fried
