You should bring a counterpoint to the fact that the devs are intentionally trying to move away from the old RIV mechanics because they just resulted in a lot of pointless boss killing to invalidate difficulty of above-tier bosses
so fight Malice EoC with post-EoC gear
from another perspective "Revengeance" is the designed, standard difficulty (equivalent to vanilla Expert) while Death is mostly just additional, optional difficulty. Malice is akin to "unreasonable challenge mode" which is why it rewards item for overcome such a challenge.
I will argue that since Revengeance is the equivalent of Calamity's expert and most originally Rev drops are already move to expert, it do not really need additional drops
anyway back to challenge drops bein' generally not that useful:
- glhf gettin' Aegis Blade now (use an actually good melee weapon instead like Omniblade or that thing that crafts into Animus later)
- Briny Baron is actually really fuckin' good but nobody ever used it because farmin' Fishron is pain
- I remember The Reaper actually bein' relatively popular and so I'd understand if people were complainin' about it gettin' moved, but weirdly enough nobody's doin' so, so
- Burden Breaker bein' moved to Malice is hilarious because it removes the need for the Dungeon Guardian nerf which I still think is stupid
- Leonidas' Progressive™️ Car Insurance is cool but nobody used it ever and the same is true of Cold Divinity
Malachite is good and Malice PBG even with on-tier stuff is a joke relatively speakin' so that's off the list (source: I fought Malice PBG myself. she was basically unchanged from how I remember her pre-1.5 save for some new sound effects and the ability to build for speed)
atm I think Malice is a good compromise because pretty much all of the existing Malice drops were due for a nerf
except for like, the shitty ones

BFlux is used for Drat still I think but at the same time you can bomb Plantera out of existence by the time you need BFlux for Drat
the two that concern me the most are Cosmic Discharge and Yharim's Crystal

Cosmic Discharge is an obscenely good melee weapon which you also need for one of the dev mage weapons (that's right, Apoth still takes Cosmic Discharge for some reason, at least to my knowledge)

Yeah the most important aspect of Drata at all is that it includes Blossom Flux in its recipe
yeah Drat still takes BFlux, Apoth still takes Cosmic Discharge, and Yharim's Crystal is still functionally worthless because of where you get it and how annoyin' it is to get it
the only difference with Crystal now is that it's actually consistent

Shield is:
- obtainable in a lower difficulty, even prior to 1.5
- more consistent in how it works
- able to give you more options out of a bonk because of how it works
- able to deal damage
- (mostly irrelevant, but) able to be used in nohits
the dash given by Counter Scarf, and by extension Evasion Scarf as well, is effectively a one-time-per-15-seconds-or-so projectile dodge that doesn't even work disguised as a reskinned Shield of Cthulhu dash

not only that but it got actively nerfed alongside bein' moved to Malice

sure, the Revengeance item and its many cousins do that job well
but a lot of the mechanics that are changed regardless of difficulty, includin' the new Hardmode progression scheme, are not only not explained clearly in-game, but are very hard to explain in-game in a way that doesn't break the flow of the game entirely

I have in idea for a suggestion, don’t know if it’s suitable lore-wise: you know how Draedon makes… clicking (??) noises at different points during the exo mechs fight? What if one of those noises happened along with a small piece of dialogue in the chat when you defeat the last of the regular mechs
He does acknowledge that he knew you fought his old mechs (or he has just seen you progress through the game in general): "Ever since I was alerted to your presence, I have processed your battles in order to make my machines stronger."

also Draedon and SCal are intended to be the current final bosses together

We got Draedon in public for less than a month, and while it'd be too early to call whether it's harder than SCal, it's definitely messier from what I observed
technically as of now you could count her as 1 of the final bosses, but theres more of the game to come after her, even currently

I know this was discussed before, as of currently isnt it more reasonable to decrease star requirement to 250? from my scouting not a single one in the voting had reached 270. The closest is only 3, one is 260+ (for scarf providing cold prot), 250+ (shatterd community portrait) and 250+ (boss effect rename)
and I will assume these maybe stagnated because of significant amount of new voting per day
rover was going to do something with the star req since the initial 1.5 tidal wave is over iirc

I'd retool your suggestion into suggesting adjustments to defense damage in lower difficulty modes instead of outright removal.
Because there's a near-0% chance it's getting made death/malice exclusive
Also, especially nowadays if Revengeance is too hard one could just... lower their difficult to Expert. It's a toggle for a reason.
Not everyone is entitled to completing the mod on Revengeance or higher.

Hard no on the defense damage disable, it does not take a lot to completely blank some bosses already. True melee with full warding and titan scale can still have really good damage while being invulnerable short of debuffs, I'd imagine other classes can achieve similar results by just using one of their free slots on defense instead of damage. Seeing as there are also universal options to blank debuffs as well, defense damage is necessary.
i gotta agree with spark. before defense damage i was making loadouts that could take a hit from pretty much anything without even needing to panic (Like 10 damage per hit). so having DD just to stop you from going "yep gonna facetank just like i do all over" is a pretty good idea. it prevents just sweeping. so you can explore the game more

Defense damage existing kills facetank builds, meaning honest tank builds like full warding or defense-focused accessories can be made much less conditional without enabling facetanks
or y'know those builds that are able to tank shit so much that because of their hp they feel nothing
Yep, that's exactly the design goal. Defense damage on its own isn't cool. It's a necessary evil so that tanking can be cool

I understand that somewhat recently there was a suggestion about voodoo demons but I was going to ask if suggesting the removal of the increased voodoo demons spawnrate was possible/allowed. The fact that the mod adds an item entirely dedicated to removing the excessive spawns really speaks to how annoying they are to deal with when you don't want to fight WoF. I don't think it's necessary since there is a craftable alternative to obtaining voodoo dolls which is easy enough to craft using simple materials
You could suggest that the Voodoo Demon spawnrate get lowered even more
but, yeah, the Voodoo Demon Voodoo Doll item exists for exactly that purpose
The reason why it was raised is because it is equally if not more annoying to try and fight WoF, especially multiple attempts, but the game decides to give you no Voodoos
still feels weird to have the solution be to spam them rather than just making a craftable version, but i feel like it's a lost cause to try and change it at this point, the mod seems pretty set on this being the way to handle it

I was wondering about making a suggestion to add in (at least) weapon tooltip an indication about the weapon tier. In a game with more and more weapon, that would allow player to better see their option to fight a boss when checking storage, without checking wiki.
The notion of tier is subjective and can be discussed, but before even making the suggestion, i was wondering if it would not be a pretty big work for dev to change every weapon tooltip...
that would likely take ages to do so, and you can look at materials to see them
regardless, if that helps i am actually making a weapon list myself listed by tiers
just that im redoing them all because 1.5

AR2 gives the most iirc, with like 4 weapon drops 2 accesories, and an almost full set of weapons in Corroded Fossils

Sulphurous armor is post-EoC, it's rogue, and despite its early placement, it works extremely well all the way to WoF
Fathom Swarmer is uh, post cal clone, I think? and it's summoner
I would honestly like if Sulphurous armor "upgrades" throughout Acid Rain tiers
so you can upgrade Sulphurous with T2 Acid Rain materials (which is mainly Corroded Fossil)
and you can upgrade said upgrade with T3 drops
Since titan heart armor is a stealth strike armor with good defense (from what the wiki say, I've never played rogue so I don't know if it's true) this idea could work but the armor could focus more on spamming attacks than using stealth strike and a bit less defense than the titan heart armor (maybe also more movement speed ?)
