The only reason Counter Scarf has an update to begin with is that the Evasion Scarf was a patreon item.
I think the suggestion is valid, but unviable just because the Counter Scarf is so old that if the devs actually wanted counter scarf upgrades they'd have made them already.
I understand that, but I feels like it cuts off, I just think the Evasion should be a material for something down the line. It could be an optional material (I don't know how they would get that to work though) and tie into something else already made. It just feels unfinished.

Swords are the player's basic melee weapon. Broadswords are swung over the head when used, while shortswords are stabbed in front of the player. Some swords also release a projectile when swung, making them a good option when fighting at range. There are currently 135 swords in the Calamity Mod.

That kinda doesn’t make sense to me. There’s only so many different things you can do with swords, and most of the time it’s gonna come down to what has the best projectile, for what people use.

and im assuming mage weapons arent as easy as most melee and ranger
not just because it's high effort, but also because it'd render the plan of reworking some of the melee weapons redundant

Mage weapons can wildly vary from lame as shit to Eternity
Melee is easy to make, ranger tends to be restricted to bows, guns, flamethrowers, and rockets. Mage is that low because each weapon can be quite different from the other. There isn't really weapon types or subclasses for mage. For summoner, literally every single summon weapon is different
