The enamorous nature of the Elemental "Waifus" are indeed made with implicit sexual nature, however despite their superficial nature it does contribute to the mod's aesthetics and theming in a neutral, or even positive way. But, the way these sprites portray themselves are somewhat counter intuitive to the doctrine of Youtube and Terraria as a whole, and as a result got ChippyGaming striked from Youtube's algorithmic boterators. To be mature or to not be mature, is the real question.
The mere inclusion of these sprites in the mod have already sparked some controversy, and it can be argued that the inclusion of said Elemental "Waifus" goes against Terraria's philosophy as a game for everyone. However, I disagree.
If this is the way Fabsol wants his mod to thrive, so be it. Terraria actually has references to periods (Female NPCs have semi-aggressive dialogue during Blood Moons), alcohol, a fisherman's pun on masturbation, and even references to pop culture. Even though Terraria's core demographic is children, they shouldn't be on Youtube in the first place if they are too young to understand these concepts. However, to Chippy's credit, he got striked for suggestive content that he didn't originally create.
In Japan, gore and blood is considered obscene, however sex is normalized there. In the USA, it is quite the contrary. In our world, what is normal to us may not be normal to them.
I say make a config option to bring out the best in both parties.
