Typically what I do when starting is dig down for some gems and some life crystals so I got some HP and a magic storage going, then I go to desert for stormlion summon and a conch, then I can teleport to ocean and fish.

Terraspark wont come from fishing, some of the stuff you need can be fished, but itll require some obsidian and hell items too.

For WoF you are gonna need more, but terraspark is something you can get super early that will last until you hit hardmode and get the much coveted fairy boots, then you can wear those for like a dozen bosses.

In all fairness even the worst rod can catch the best stuff, the higher your fishing power though, the higher your chances of good loot is. But even a wooden rod can get the reavershark and crates. Long as you got good bait and grab some fishing potions you are generally good to go.

I always come back with a reavershark and enough crates to get decent boots and verticality.

Reavershark is the main goal for me really, cuz then I can go right to mining obsidian and hellstone.
