Adds all sorts of convenient configs, like killing certain entities and projectiles when you die, preventing certain items from dropping, capping dust and gore lifetime and amount, granting infinite consumables at a certain stack size, and showing boss attempt stats

Just don’t make it kill hostile projectiles on death because that sometimes causes temporary visual bugs

Depends on whether you want true melee (or close range in general) or ranged, homing or not
Long range, homing: Flairon, Entropic claymore
Long range, not homing, big damage: Fallen Paladin's hammer, flying dragon I guess
Short range, not true melee technically but you wanna be about true melee range for best results:

No, astral pike is really good, you just need to stay properly close, like all other true melee spears
Counterintuitively, true melee spears want you to be as close as possible
Because of how their hitboxes work
which is where astral blade outperforms it

arm eyes barely get scratched by the pike
which is where the blades are better
Generally the top eye and the core are more favourable to true melee in general
The astral pike does tend to exacerbate the problem of hand eyes
generally the whole fight is favorable to be true meleed since all the projectile spams have a blind zone right next to the firing eye
Well, the hand eyes tend to stick at a predetermined distance (and if you move they tend to slowly move until they return at that distance)
And I believe that the hand eye spirals don't have a blind spot near it?
Anyways if you're going specifically true melee then starlight's longer range is something to keep into consideration
or grand guardian
its dps is kinda close to astral blade but also has 3 extra on-hit effects

No, this is a tmodloader bug that's being fixed soon
summoner is genuenly the best class in both souls and calamity so i wouldnt try switching off it for anything

i have 7 accessories and warding gives +5 defense
thats 35 defense 35*0,75 is 26.25 dmg reduction and also the 7% dmg reduction wich is aprox 28dmg reduction
so full warding with the warding being 5 per piece is 28 dmg reduction but gets better later on

i enjoy the grinding sometimes but recently i just been spawning shit in lmao
tryna just get the playthrough overwith lowk
since it's the ocean the spawn rate is comparatively very high compared to other areas in which jellies can spawn
not only did it crash but it broke my whole computer
a jellyfish statue can grind the items for you too, if you get one
i find it more fun in vanilla than calamity

ofc the team's trying to rectify that rn, but as cal stands, its prob one of the worse major content mods

Back in the day, the incompatibility was even more pronounced.
well the mutant's attack for example are basically all of moonlords projectiles the phantasmal eyes and the smaller eyes only the scythes are kind of original even though they're just colored demon scythes
that is entirely irrelevant to what I said
this is technically true i guess, people are so used to running compatibility mods that they think they work with calamity by default
