Also for bait you could destroy the pre generated rock structures to drop worms, wait for it to rain where worms spawn frequently, if it's a windy day you can catch ladybugs at the cost of your luck, or stinkbugs if it's not windy, or most optimally you can set up a farm consisting of a bunch of rows of jungle grass to spawn bushes and get buggys, sluggys, or grubbys as a consistent source if for some odd reason you're not using fargos mutant.
